VR game for this feel ?
Looked for a rentry for unZuccing the Quest2, but couldn't find it last thread
>>389671243
gonna guess coomer mods for Skyrim will let you do whatever you're into here
>>389671243
Modded skyrim, presumably
how is the ai in assetto ultimate, compared to project cars 1
Live you bitches. I'm not going back to the toxic shithole that is the VRChat general.
>>389651571 (Cross-thread)
no you just need the base game, depends on the mission we play but generally we'll be flying jets.
>>389671243
Get https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/9547 and you are gtg
I know the modding "scene" is far less extensive in Fallout 4 VR than Skyrim VR, but I need to know the important question: do the seggs mods work in Fallout 4 VR yet?
>>389679731
damn the last thread reached bump limit so fast i didn't even realise
>>389684552
While AAF doesn't work, Sleep Intimate which uses many AAF animations does.
Did Skyrim VR every get physics based melee combat?
>>389692313
Planck?
>>389692313
>>389692524
Planck is half way there, but it's still lacking. Enemies have a physics response when you slap them and you need to actually hit their body, but their weapons are still very hitbox based and you don't really block with your weapon any differently than vanilla. It's a big step forward, but it's not a magic fix for melee combat yet.
>>389692313
Planck helps a lot. On top of rewriting how collisions work you can grab and even pick up weakened enemies. Finishing dudes off by throwing them off cliffs is FUN. I think the best combination of melee combat mods right now would be Planck, Strike Obfuscation System for blocking, Physical Dodge VR for proper dodging, Blade & Blunt for attack commitment and generally overhauling Skyrim's combat, and SkySA 2 for replacing NPC behavior (It doesn't affect players in VR) so attacks are telegraphed and ice skating is removed. Get JH's Animations for SkySA as the default Dark Souls esque ninja moves are a bit too fast for VR. Also, Speed & Reach for Synthesis and Retimed Hit Frames for Nemesis so enemies have hitboxes that are actually 1:1 with their weapons and attacks.
Making NPCs physics based does have some quirks. In this pic the knigga got physically hooked on Lydia's sword as his arm wrapped around it, so I needed to grab his arm to unhook him and send him on his way. Planck has an option to give NPCs full physics interactions with terrain too. Think Boneworks where zombies can trip over objects, but a bit less bad in Skyrim's case. I have that turned off as I'm terrified of potentially breaking pathfinding, but it is cool.
This bitch is slapping my ass so hard I could hardly get a better picture. Time to grind some gear I suppose
Should I get the Archaeologist Edition or the base version of Outer Wilds?
just ordered a 3080ti for cyberpunk lads
my 2070 wasnt doing the business
>>389699802
The Archeologist edition as the DLC is fun. That said Tim Sweeney already paid the developers so you should just pirate the game.
>>389700101
I assume you mean the VR mod because a 2070 should handle pancake mode well enough
what'd it cost?
>>389701337
This one's on him?!
>>389703590
You bet. Good game, good VR mod, all paid for by our friends at Epic Games.
>>389705081
how generous, has he given away any other free titles?
Imagine VR in 20 years. If we're still alive and well, thats it.
>>389711075
10 years ago this summer the Rift DK1 was announced
look at how far we've come since then
>>389707197
Tetris Effect is another good VR game Tim paid for, same with Robo Recall.
>>389713696
Shit yeah I remember watching PewDiePie playing it when I was like 9.
>>389711075
I hope we'll have those crazy looking holographic/3D displays to get true depth beyond just simulated stereoscopic death. That sounds like the next evolution in panels but I hope it won't take a decade to be consumer viable.
Skyrim VR is $14.79 on CD Keys if anyone still doesn't have it.
https://www.cdkeys.com/the-elder-scrolls-v-5-skyrim-vr-pc-steam-cd-key
>>389719609
FUCK OFF TODD
I am not buying your game again and no one should
Why do most of the VR game sales suck?
>>389729181
You either already own or don't know about the good games you don't have yet.
I like VR
>>389714645
>9
>>389729181
It's the VR tax. 4 hour games going for over $20 is justified because they are in VR. It's sad, but I didn't pick up any VR games this go around and just bought some classics for pennies.
>>389741314
If youre using a quest then you can grab some of the old id shooters and run the vr ports. Better than re4vr
>>389743115
I already played all of those years ago. Quest ZDoom sadly chugs like a bitch when it tries to run a lot of WADs. Stuff like Bastion of Chaos admittedly has issues running on good gaming PCs flat.
What really needs to happen is a VR implementation of Raze so I can play Redneck Rampage and Blood in VR.
>>389719609
>BUY MY GAME
fuck off todd

hooolllaayy shheeeyyat
To the anon who recommended Catch & Release in the previous thread: thanks, it's pretty good. To everyone else, check it out. Kind of makes me want to buy one of those overlay programs so I can watch TV while fishing. I imagine this is what an actual day fishing would be like, only without the sunburn and giardia.
>>389749738
You're welcome for the Catch & Release rec.
You don't need to buy an overlay program btw, here
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1494460/Desktop/
This is straight up better quality and more optimized than the paid ones I've used in the past too. I stopped using OVR Toolkit because of this.
>just dance is on everything
>no just dance vr
ubisoft is fucking retarded and we still dont have ANY official info about asscreed vr
What's the hardest you can push Quest 2 link?
>5900x
>3080ti
I've got my slider in Oculus to max, but I'm fiddling with Oculus Tray Tool as well. Just wondering if there's a definite point where you hit diminishing returns because of the nature of usb.
>>389760359
There is point pushing rendering resolution past 5408*2736, fiddle with supersampling after that.
>>389760505
there is no point*
In the ideal world anyway.
>>389701337
Lad, NTA but I jump on his question.
I bought Outer Wilds with the intention of playing it in VR. Maybe I just suck at controlling the plane but I thought it was a hassle with Oculus Rift S controller.
Can I just plugin a console controller and use the rift only for the view?
>>389766519
The VR mod actually has motion controls, pls play it with the real controllers.
Today is Pavlov day!
just had my monthly vr wank session and once again am filled with immense shame and deleted all of the apps and torrents I just used for the 100th time
>>389773293
I tried it but I can't fly for shit
Skill issue, I should just try harder?
Alright will do... It would be a shame to play in pancake mode.
>>389782207
Wouldn't mind if you shared said apps and torrents
>>389783184

I'm new to VR, I got a Quest 2 that I use with a cable. I've been having a lot of fun but the games all look like they're low resolution that have been upscaled, they sort of look a little "blurry" (not talking about my vision but the games themselves). Is this something normal for VR, is it just a Quest 2 screen particularity or is there some setting I'm missing ? Anything I've searched about this was only talking about eye and lens adjustment.
>>389788097
That could just be the compression over the cable. Ironically you can get better visuals via Virtual Desktop with a wifi6 router.
>>389788097
>blurry
check what resolution you have in oculus pc app
>>389788931
Hadn't thought of this
>>389789751
I just checked, it's the default settings (3200x1632). Do people usually bump this up higher or should it be fine with this ? If that's the case I'm probably just expecting too much.

The Quest 2 has a 1900p panel, so higher. I know that over 2000 is common to compensate for barrel distortion.
>>389792227
>it's the default settings (3200x1632)
The default settings are retarded. You need 5408x2736 to just get to the "native" panel resolution.
>>389794617
>>389794995
I didn't imagine the default settings would be retarded, thanks.
are there any vr god games

>>389797629

unfortunate, but at least i know someone tried.

>30€ for beat saber
ayy lmao
Now that there's a sale going on I can finally get some new gaymes. I'd like to keep it under 60€, so far my wishlist has :
>In Death 7,50€
>Jet Island 13€
>Skyrim Buy His Game Edition 20€
>Bonerworks 20€
Any better ideas ? After The Fall has been sitting in my wishlist for a while too but I don't know how fun can an MP VR shooter be.
>>389803506
it never goes on sale
>>389805290
In Death's PC version is way behind the Quest version. Get it instead. After The Fall is fun but has a lot of annoying Quest players in its MP. If you are OK with playing with guys who will leave halfway through due to their parents yelling at them, go for it. It's a fun game otherwise and probably the best co-op zombie shooter in VR.
>>389805640
just pirate it

Get 8089 which is only $9 right now.
>>389805887
don't need to, I'm not poor
how much replayability does it have? I saw that you can put custom songs in, how much content is there with the custom ones included? Not gonna buy the DLCs
>>389806228
>you have to be poor to pirate
nice cope faggot
>>389806228
there is shit ton of cutom maps, quality varies tho
>>389805887
This. It's genuinely more convenient to pirate the game as every minor update for the official game breaks all your mods. I have maybe two hours in the legal copy of the game I have, but way more in my pirate copy as all of my mods and custom songs still work there. Other rhythm games at least make sure that custom songs don't break every single update.
>>389806410
I see, I'm unfamiliar with how pirating VR games works, can I just launch them through SteamVR?
>>389806723
Yes. Pirated and third party games can use SteamVR. You can get something like No Man's Sky on GOG or Myst via Gamepass and still play it in VR.
>>389806824
cool, I'll pirate it then, thanks
>>389806080
you're right, it's 5 bucks on g2a, thank you anon

Holy shit you guys need to buy nock.
It’s kind of like rocket league without the cars and you have a bow instead. Just played it today for the first time and it’s provably the best vr game i’ve ever played.
That said, I just got my quest 2 about a month back, and the game’s available only on the quest store for now. The steam vr version is supposed to drop soon too.

also what exactly is the difference between the 360 stuff and real VR?
>>389806228
Why would you give facebook money when the devs break your mods (only good thing about the game) every update?
>>389812603
Not him but I assume the VR ones are also stereoscopic.
>>389812603
360 is just 360 where you can look around, lame and is flat
THE REAL VR SHIT is not flat, there is depth and it feels like you are actually 'there', imo the actually future,
i highly recommend checking felix & paul vr movies

Do I need a fancy router for airlinking to a quest or can I use a wifi card in my PC?
Also do the steam sales still change over the week or are today's prices the price they will be?
I remember it used to be a daily/hourly change In what's on sale and by how much
>>389812170
Porntrex?
Thanks to the dude who told me about OVR Toolkit. Vr really is getting more and more comfy. Now i can just play extra comfy with a window showing a video IN my VR gameplay. I can only imagine how comfy (and dangerous) Truck Simulator can become with this. Also i can easy check voice commands for VTOL VR.

Prices don't changed anymore because people bitched
>>389826546
Cheers bud.
My only issue with VR porn so far is you have to go for the 2160 stuff or it looks awful and they insist on getting their clams so fucking close to the camera that it makes you cross eyed, like seriously put a dang headset on and check out what your viewers are going to see, move the fuck back it's not enjoyable.
>>389827671
>getting their clams so fucking close to the camera that it makes you cross eyed
fucking kek i noticed that yeah
this but in VR, when ?
>>389838868
DD2 is going to be using the RE Engine. Hopefully modders who have been able to inject VR into all of the other RE Engine games can get on that. I doubt that motion controls would work given how combat works in DD sadly.
>>389778438
worst fucking gun physics, but best maps
I just want Overwatch feels and gameplay in VR bros
>>389810341

Is there a way to get Steam to behave the way it did prior to the sale? Searching by tag is garbage now. You used to be able to sort every single game that fit into a tag by price or user reviews, but now you have to use the bullshit Steam Labs thing, which only shows you like ten games at a time.
>>389853107
i just use steamdb https://steamdb.info/sales/?min_discount=40&min_rating=60&tagid=21978
>>389846747
Larcenauts is on sale right now. I wish that they would update it more though.
I'm refunding Mare. Very disappointing. Looks nice, and at a glance, it seems like it'd be a VR version of ICO, but ICO had puzzles or enemies, or things to do. In this one, you control a mechanical bird, and you click on a perch, at which point it automatically flies there, then you watch a little girl walk to where you are. And I do mean "watch," because if you're not looking directly at her as she walks, she stops and won't continue until you look at her again. Then you fly to the next perch and repeat.
Does Enderal VR use the Oldrim version of Enderal's mods, or Enderal SE's mods?
>>389863556
SE's mods. Skyrim VR always uses the SE version of things sans dlls which need their own VR versions. You can just run an Oldrim mod through Cathedral Asset Optimizer of course. I did that for a few model replacers that were only for Oldrim Enderal to make them work in VR.
>>389838868
checkout everslaught on steam
You guys keep your base clean, right?

Looking for a single-player campaign/story focused FPS game that isn't Alyx, Boneworks, Into the Radius, or AZ Sunshine. Anything good on sale? How's Battle Sister?
>>389890475
Saints & Sinners is on sale. It should give you 10+ hours with the postgame update.
>>389890475
Battle Sister is only really worth pirating, it's 4 hours long and kinda crappy.
>Karnage Chronicles
>Brutal Wizardry

Skyrim VR?
>>389890475
Not on sale and I don't know how the PC port is because I played it on PSVR, but Immortal Legacy: The Jade Cipher is basically a Chinese discount Resident Evil. The English voice-acting is pretty solid (Geralt VA plays the main character) if you enjoy campy stories and I thought it was a good adventure. Some poor VR design choices though, like a few literal cutscenes and some QTEs.
is Master Bladesmith any good? I searched the archive and there's no real posts discussing it here, and only a few on /v/
my right quest 2 controller has been drifting since day one and now its gotten so bad I have to set the deadzone to half the entire area. tried toothpicks and contact cleaner and everything but nothing works. I GOT ZUCCCED
>>389920160
never heard of this one, a lot of the negative Steam reviews seem to be from cuckulous users, one guy who mentioned doing a Vive playthrough in a garage said it worked well and was patched up for roomscale movement
not sure how Index support is, I'll keep looking, but seems like it could be cheap fun along the lines of Dead Effect 2
>>389669674 (OP)
I was given a Quest 2 last Christmas but even with the spacer my glasses never quite fit comfortably nor could I get the focus just right, so I didn’t get particularly into it, just did some initial setup. But I just got Lasik for unrelated reasons and tried it last night for the first time without glasses. Gosh, that’s just night and day in terms of comfort and clarity. Definitely want to make use of this gift now and do things right from the start.
Yesterday I got Sidequest setup and installed Oculess. I’ve got a couple questions for any kind anons willing to answer
>When I disabled Telemetry using Oculess, it showed a readout of 6 telemetry-related variables, and only 3 were actually disabled. Is this normal, or a sign I’ve messed up something in the install? I haven’t seen anyone else complain about this ambiguity with Google searching. I can try to grab a screencap later if this is too vague. I recall it was the third, fourth, and fifth of the six in the list that were disabled, and one of the disabled ones had "log" in the name.
>Does Guardian provide any useful position/motion data for programs, or can I just disable it if I’m not concerned about my environment? Do y’all prefer keeping it on or off?
>Are there any essential programs/mods to grab that I would regret not finding later on? Looking at the sticky, I’ll also grab XS Overlap and OpenVR Advanced Settings. Any other recommendations?
>What is the best way to record/screencap what I’m seeing? I’ve had some luck with OBS recording my PC’s output using Virtual Desktop, but that seems a bit roundabout.
Y'all have been helpful in the past. Thanks in advance.

I don't own a Quest but was there a guide you followed for this? Would like to be able to make/include a rentry in the OP for future threads.
>>389921530
Why didn't you RMA? Contact cleaner has been a repeatable temporary solution for me but eventually the parts will wear themselves out, the springs in particular loosen and won't center properly after extended use. These mini joysticks just suck for every controller.
>>389923185
I bought it but so far all I've done is crash 5 minutes in

It did let me wiggle my fingers though which was nice

Game's name is Gothic, i loved it to death as a kid. I wrote some importer scripts to convert some of game's bits into Unity, initially hoped to write a full port, but got stuck on writing script interpreter for anything more than basic object properties. Kinda hoping i'll git gud/get motivated and pick it up again one day.
>>389928749
very cool anon, I'd love to see you do more with this, not even the whole game, but even just certain scenes, like when you're going with the templars into the minecrawler nest in the second chapter, imagine that in VR!
>>389924842
VTOL server up! Main branch, Server name EU VTOL, Pass 'hotdog'
>>389923185
Crafting is still done pointing at menus (your inventory spread out on the ground), and you can attack as fast as you can swing, so you can absolutely rape most things. I have no idea how to block attacks, trying to parry or holding your weapon out sideways doesn't seem to do anything. Also, picking up a large amount of items is cancer since you have to grab the controller for each item you pick up or place in a building. Maybe that can be rebinded, I'm not sure.
Honestly I liked the game more in flatscreen than in VR. It feels a lot more like a port than a true VR game if you know what I mean
>>389928749
Porting the entire game to unity sounds like enough of a task. The remake is going to be made with Unreal Engine, have hope that like the Mechwarrior 5 devs and the Deep Rock Galactic devs that Piranha Bytes enables the openvr.dll so modders can take a swing at it.
>>389932125
the remake looked like absolute dogshit, nothing produced today can top the quality of G1 and G2NOTR
not to mention the fact that PB hasn't been able to make a game equally as good as the ones I mentioned in years, the closest they came with was Risen
>>389929127
Thanks, guess small screw-around demo bits are also something to consider. Could be fun.

Doom 3 Mod (fully possessed) one of the best VR fps out there
I'm really loving Project Wingman, but I usually play games unmodded, but in this case I would like to pump this game up with more content.
What are the best mods for Project Wingman?
>>389937517
>Voice Commands
Do you have to use these?
>>389937664
There's not too much in the way of Project Wingman mods which provide more major gameplay changes. Most of them are just some minor map, skin changes you won't notice in VR, or some real wacky shitpost ideas like the giant Legoman. There aren't too many mods which actually add much in the way of content
There's a few cool map replacements that do change how you play or the feel, however. Like Neptune Domain, which makes the whole thing into a space stage that lets you fly around the underside of the ships and also changes what the ships have. Such as the ISDs here having a dozen railguns and ability to spawn more fighters. If you're cool with some stuff that mainly changes the map, there's a bunch on Nexus you can easily find.
Alright motherfuckers it is that time of the week again! The drive to create avatars for summer events has been decently alive considering how the usual slosh is. The fourth of July is coming up and is usually celebrated by an early celebration of a phony holiday invented by Canadians to declare how they are still under the queen's rule. Reminding all honest blooded patriots that this is a sham and to diss the holiday and celebrate fourth of July instead. Please make USA themed avatars.

I'll be hosting NA VTOL tomorrow. Probably around 9pm EDT.
What do you guys think of tie-in vr experiences or entire ports of non vr games? There's been a few blunders as of recent most notably hitman 3 but codemasters games have been having a field day with dirt 2 and f1 22. I've heard good things about re7 on psvr as well. The re8 gameplay demo on psvr2 already looks like it has some of the best visuals compared to pcvr games. Apperantly sony is seeking exclusivity deals for vr "experiences" of popular titles, most notably the new modern warfare. With psvr2 this shit's gonna become far more common.
>>389959138
They are the best VR games in general as VR developers continue to fail at making actual games with actual content. I'll take Resident Evil over half assed VR horror games like Wraith any day, or Skyrim over barebones shit with no mods like Demeo. If Sony does deliver I will get a PS5 to play actual games in VR as PC VR doesn't seem to be going far beyond mods these days.

I forgot to mention how good the re4 port was and that the san andreas port will probably follow cause if it doesn't both rockstar of david and faceberg's optics will hit rock bottom seeing how badly they're regarded already. vr on ps5 may very well be a revitalization of pcvr if the eye tracking + foveated rendering actually yields more performance. The combined price of the headset and console will be below 1000usd which is unheard of for pcvr setups. Im just scared of the "sense" controllers being plagued with drift.

>>389945000

>>389978395
That depends on whether the headset works on PC in the first place, much less features like eyetracking. PSVR 1 never got official support on PC, just some shoddy paid third party drivers.
>>389983656
With Sony's gaming division moving less into platform exclusivity and more into PC gaming, it wouldn't surprise me if PSVR2 worked as a PCVR headset either right out of the box at launch, or with a future update. Now we just need them to port the PSVR exclusive games over. Exclusivity is ass, and exclusivity in an ultra niche market like VR is even assier.
>>389983656
When I said revitalize pcvr I meant that ps5 + psvr2 will have comparable performance to a high range pc while being affordable in the same breath. This will greatly expand the market for games that are of pcvr quality.
Played No Mans Sky VR for a couple hours. I have no idea what the fuck is going on in this game. The ship controls are neat though if a little nauseating
>>389989702
Make sure to get https://www.nexusmods.com/nomanssky/mods/1563?tab=description
It makes the game play much more naturally in VR. No Man's Sky is best with that mod while playing with friends IMO.
>>389985875
But then there would be no incentive at all to actually buy a ps5. I was under the impression that Sony will be porting their flatscreen games over to pc while holding onto their 1st party vr titles and exclusivity deals for dear life. Even timed exclusives don't create enough of an incentive to actually buy a ps5. To actually make sales, sony's gonna be selling these units at a loss when they can rely on a 30% cut for third party games and the entire pie for their first party titles whereas steam would take a bite.
>>389985875
I hope they keep up with this trend. Maybe the playstation platform dissolves into an umbrella of game studios and occasional releases of hardware that isn't locked down (sort of like what valve is doing). Sony has multiple very well performing hardware divisions whether it be TVs phones headphones or whatever. They just aren't gonna compete with microsoft's massive heap of big name studios so they'll instead be cornering the vr market right behind faceberg. I feel like if sony really were to make the headset pc compatible they'd make their own game center/launcher to get an uncircumsiced revenue from their 1st parties on pc, like what oculus did with lone echo and asgard's wrath. Its probably unlikely but I really hope for psvr2 on pc. Quest 2 has very shitty compression with my amd gpu and the new pico neo isnt worth the upgrade even if its DP native. psvr2 will be my next headset without a doubt
>PSVR2
no wireless no care, I can't go back to a tether
>>389994881
When the fuck is somebody gonna make a Wigig 2 capable HMD so we can get uncompressed, high fidelity wireless?
I love wireless but the Q2s compression is a bitter pill to swallow, even with a good, dedicated router and Nvidia GPU for encoding.
Is Barbaria worth the asking price in early access right now? I like the premise of physically building a dungeon and placing monsters for your friends to fight through them, but I have no idea how much variety there is in the version state of the game.
>>389993876
The incentive to buy a PS5 remains the same as the incentive to buy any console: some people are too stupid or too poor to build a PC. There's literally no incentive whatsoever to buy an Xbox, but Microsoft keeps making those.

Huh, I had something like this in mind for a VR game. Looks surprisingly polished for a VR game that came out of nowhere in current year, maybe it's too good to be true and will stay in early access hell.
Any EUs that play Valheim VR?
I'm having tracking issues in multiple games with my Index controllers. At first, I thought the problem was with the game, because it happened on a few demos during the Steam NEXT Festival, so I just uninstalled the demos and moved on. But reading the game discussions, nobody else but me had the same problem. Now it's happening in a game I just purchased called Atlas Mystery, and it's the same problem I had with the demos. My controllers aren't being tracked in-game. My "hands" are just sitting on the floor below me, but I know Steam VR is tracking them because I can open and interact with the Steam VR menu just fine. I can also play most games just fine, it's just the demos and this newer game. Anyone know what the problem could be before I go through the hassle of contacting Valve?
>>390015153
Have you tried turning it off and on again? By that I mean, have you tried reinstalling everything SteamVR and your headset?
Why is there nothing about the risk of rain 2 vr mod in the op?
>>390020025
I tried resetting the PC, hard resetting the controllers, unplugging the tri-cable at the break point, disabling the device, then replugging it and letting Windows reinstall the drivers, etc. and nothing I did worked.
I did manage to resolve the issue just now, but it really just raises further questions. I started dicking around with developer settings and turned off Power Management, and that fixed it for some reason. I thought the Power Management setting was so the lighthouses shut off whenever SteamVR wasn't running. And I have no idea why I was only having tracking issues on these newer games, and not on anything else I had played, including stuff I bought and played after buying and installing the "faulty" demos and Atlas Mystery.
>>390020430
Oh, and to make matters stranger, according to valve, power management comes shut off by factory default, so me switching it off in dev settings just now shouldn't have actually done anything.

Less movement than B&S but not stationary. Smooth movement is slow so you'll mostly be using the dash to rush enemies, avoid being surrounded or hit by AoEs.

>Legendary Tales
Not much. I only put it on the list because I saw that it's getting updated in the near future. As it is now, it's only worth it if you're like me and wanted an alternative to Blade and Sorcery after burning out on its dungeon mode.

>>390043949
the visual prompts in VR aren't as bad as it looks in screenshots since it's not taking up your full FOV. I've always felt UTF is more of a combat-themed rhythm game than a straight combat game anyway, and it plays well in that mindset. You can get a feel for all the game has to offer within the 2 hour refund window, imo it's still worth a try.
>>390045406
The servers are still up, and the game came back for sale after a month or two of being delisted.
I have no doubt that the servers will one day close, and I'll sent an obligatory "plz private server tools" email when they do, but for now it's still playable online.
Still, I was recommending it based on the single player portions since the anon I replied to said that he doesn't like group MP games like that.

How the fuck do you dodge missiles in Project Wingman?
I started Mission 4 and I was just about to complete it, and I died from too many missile hits (10% hull), and lost all my progress, which really sucks.

you have to position yourself in a way so missles are flying at you from the side, not from behind or directly in front. so, when you have this missle indicator thingy, missle(s) should be above you, below you, or on sides when you hear them closing up on you

Honestly every time I play Pavlov I try to buy more than one grenade and am reminded that the dev has poison whispered into his ears by sweaty CS rankedfags that cannot even comprehend the advantage of indirect fire and the amount of freedom and skill throwing in vr gives you. I fucking hope the next update is allowing you to choose if you can buy and pick up more than one grenade or set of clippers and pick through the entire set of weapons when you're making the server and then that faggot never touches the game again.
>>390077563
>s that cannot even comprehend the advantage of indirect fire and the amount of freedom and skill throwing in vr gives you
it's too effective, they know, that's why it was limited, because some people get so good at cooking and throwing, it's impossible to counter.

>>390078792
Same for the knives, people were learning how to spawnkill with them like they were CoD2 nades or something.
Is there a somewhat relaxing but replayable VR game ? All the ones I have in my library don't really fit that description. I thought of something like Cooking Simulator but the flatscreen version can be pretty hectic and there's some stuff that's just too obtuse for me. I don't mind some light form of physical activity.
>>390083984
Cooking Simulator VR is effectively its own game. I'd definitely recommend it, especially with the updates adding a lot of good free content.
>>390084414
I see, I'll check it out then
>>390078792
They all use AKs and onetap heads which is only countered by not being in the line of fire to begin with. That's how the sweatlords prefer to play because it's what they're used to with CS and are too autistic to change. Grenades were already balanced by being single use and expensive. As long as you're not standing in the obvious grenade trap corners, you're fine for those hail mary cooked grenade throws. But those same grenade traps are the perfect cover for sitting and guarding a hallway waiting for heads to shoot.
The usefulness of grenades was the balance that pavlov needed. A way for shitty shots to be useful and a means to force CS metafags to adapt and realise it's a different game.

Sure. Say what you want about their exclusive haves and have nots but Sony has been getting major exclusivity deals for VR ports, not to mention they own the most VR oriented studios right after meta. Also, If they decide to, than why is it "bad" for them to release said VR games on pc? Its still gonna have an edge over the noVR SeX. The question isn't whether someone decides to play on pc rather than ps5, Its whether they pick the ps5 over the SeX.

The PS5 uses a 5700xt equivalent AMD card. It can't even run games like Control past medium settings at 1440p. I'll get one if it actually gets games myself, but I am keeping my expectations in check.
>>390111507
I said I've had issues with the card's encoding (compression) on the quest. psvr2s is native with DP connection over the usb c port that connects directly to its graphics card so no encoding has to be done. As for the graphics card, the specs mostly match to that of a 6600xt - 6700. It has 16gigaboobs of vram if im not wrong but it still pales to the SeX. Ultimately its performance gains will come down to how they manage foveated rendering with its eye tracking. I'd imagine their first party studios and other big triple gay studios that know their way around VR (i.e. capcom) could utilize it best. the re8 vr demo already looked like one of the best looking vr games yet while the new saints and sinners looked like it had lower quality textures than SaS 1 on pc.
>>390110021
They should encourage as much crossplay between PSVR2 and PCVR as possible; To benefit from a larger multiplayer base, to make the combined platforms more appealing for developers to prioritize and to make PSVR2 look like a viable alternative to PCVR for normalfags. They've already got quite a few ports on the way but in such a small market still the need for multiplats outweights the benefits of a few exclusives so I hope they keep them to a minimum. Sony can be real shit but successful console VR is more beneficial to PCVR than standalone will be.

Why is everything a fucking "roguelike." Is it so much to ask that game designers actually, you know, design a fucking game?
>>390123842
That would take effort and skill.
>>390123842
Laziness and lack of talent on the part of devs. I don't hate roguelikes, but so many of these VR ones have pathetic variety yet use slight randomization to pad out playtime. To be fair it's that or four hour experiences. Small devs can make really expansive 3D games. We got Cruelty Squad and Northern Journey last year which were hueg adventure games that were made by single man studios with nonexistant budgets. But VR devs know that they can get away with less.
That said, don't write off all roguelikes/lites/gamethatdoesn'treallyplaylikeRoguebutismarketedassuch in VR. Risk of Rain 2 with its VR mod is a hoot and has way more to it than any made for VR roguelike.
Apparently there's RDR2 and GTAV VR mods. Do they work with tracked controllers, or only mouse/keyboard?
>>390128945
Mouse and keyboard. If I'm not wrong it just puts the game in first person

How hard is it to make a VR game in unity compared to a normal game?
>>390137935
Pretty much drag and drop.
>>390137935
As easy as a flat game.
But you should be asking "how hard is it to make a good VR game in unity", and the answer is extremely hard, even harder than a traditional game.
>>390138167
Don't act like making a good normal game is easy either
You can categorize game development into 3 stages
1. You have no real game, you are writing physics, camera, rendering and audio code
2. You have a game that works somewhat, you can walk and look around, but everything is still basic and buggy, performance is not good.
3. You have a basically finished game, it executes some complex stuff that is specific to your game. It has no major bugs and performs well.
The problem with unity, and off-the-shelf engines overall, is that they allow you to go from stage 1 to stage 2 easily, in 20 minutes basically, but the tradeoff is that they make stage 2 to stage 3 transitions much much harder. Unironically it's immediate gratification versus working on your fundamentals.
>>390138912
Game development is very hard, and the payment is very bad, with the amount of skill required to make a good game you can easily score a job at FANG and just extract normalfag money while doing very little. And making a good game in unity is even harder.
And making good games in VR is unironically might be at least twice as hard.
Look at the pic related for example, is a frame from elden ring, it's a custom engine but it is good to illustrate the point.
If you don't understand what you are seeing, I will explain. The elden ring engine starts GPU work only after completing the CPU work completely, (well, GPU doesn't idle completely during that time, because work from previous frame overlaps, it is still extremely inefficient and high latency). They still shipped the game and sold millions copies, but that kind of stuff just not going to fly in VR.
>>390137935
I have a screw-around playground that I use for pretty much any random thing i feel like doing at the moment, and setting up unity for VR is as easy as reading some basic intro on steamvr plugin. As far as asset flips go, one could consider it easier than flatscreen, as all of the SteamVR plugin controls, prefabs, animations/interactions system is already here for you. But if you want to make an actual game, then obviously difficulty increases as VR has to be highly interactive and all to make it feel right.
How's LA Noire VR? I played the original back when it came out, and I keep seeing this making "best of" lists on vr vidya sites, even to this day, but both Steam and journo reviews aren't great.
>>390146384
It's 3 tutorial missions and 4 normal ones. There's freeroam, but it's really only for walking around or finding collectables.
It's not bad for the current sale price but don't go into it thinking it'll be a proper game.

It's the little things that make the VR for F1 2022 not really worth it unless you're a diehard F1 fan.

Do I need a HOTAS for VTOL?
Using the joystick in VR felt a bit odd and I have a hard time controlling it in the air and making smooth movements
>>390156259
You can't use a hotas in vtol, the whole point of the game is that it's motion controller only as far as I understand it. That's why I haven't bothered with it myself as I feel like I'd have the problems you're having.
>>390156547

Guys! I'm the G2 guy that is constantly butthurt bout my VR performance, and I just found
https://gitlab.com/znixian/OpenOVR/-/tree/openxr#downloading-and-installation
OpenComposite (OpenXR) which should replace SteamVR and supposedly give you something like a 10-20 FPS increase in *some* games, which is huge for me. I can't try it right now due to my logistics situation, but has anyone in here done it? If it's that good, then I think it should be the first link in OP really.
The real question is, why the fuck retarded developers don't target OpenXR natively?

I have quite good hotas, I use for DCS, but in my personal opinion VR controllers (at least lighthouse tracked ones) beat low end and medium end hotases by miles for responsivness and accuracy. If my VR controller had as many buttons as my HOTAS has I would use it for DCS.

Not Kronos's or OpenXR's fault.
And what are you talking about specifically? I don't know any features that are not implement by major manufacturers.
Overall, OpenVR has a lot of issues, so it might not be the worse switch even as is. No idea about oculusSDK.
>they thing zuck doesnt know even with ocucless

>>390164098
DR2 had horrible performance on launch, and up to this day it still has an issue where switch between reprojection and full framerate causes a small time warp that feels horrible. I'm running on overly high settings just to avoid ever going above reprojection framerate.
Then again, as you've said, it's perfectly playable despite minor issues and F1 22 successfully proves that DR2 wasn't all that bad when you realize how bad could they fuck it up

>>390167549

>>389669674 (OP)
Is the 8KX worth it? I mainly want to play sims and maybe a bit of coomer shit on the side. Or should I just go with the Reverb G2
>>390225883
Depends. Are you willing to spend some time tinkering and dialing in settings on the HMD and in game for an optimal experience? Willing to tinker with some mods like the VRperfkit? Are you somebody with the budget to think about the 12k trade in program they've got going?
If yes, can be worth it. But Pimax HMDs take some fiddling with so they're not a good recommendation for somebody's first VR experience. Make sure you have a beastly rig through because sims at 4k per eye res bring even a 3090 TI to its knees. The G2's still pretty demanding though and WMR software is complete and total fucking ass so bear that in mind. The 8k X is amazing and one of the best headsets around when properly set up but it can be a pain in the ass to do so.
>>390224681
Shame the server cap was lowered. Push would have been perfect for another /vrg/ world war pavlov event.
>>390226693
Is it impossible to make servers above 24 players, now?
>>390227204
You can make them but people can't join past 24. Before the change I played in some 28 player Push servers and it was tolerable compared to the absolute slideshow that was the first 30 player /vrg/ world war. UE5 Pavlov might change things but I'm not getting any hopes up.
>>390225883
I use the 8K Plus sometimes, and while I don't hate the software like some others do, I don't like the headset because of how uncomfortable it is. The headset is really heavy and the facial interface vacumn seals you eyes in which makes it really uncomfortable. I like the Reverb G2 more because it's clearer and only weighs a pound.
>>390227815

How's your performance in NMS? My computer's fans get so loud on a 3080 and 5600x and thats with setting everything to low AND turning down framerate on my index. Surely there must be something to make this better.
Also this the VR mod other anon was talking about: https://www.nexusmods.com/nomanssky/mods/1563
>>390245981

>>390229381
The Frunk. And it is pretty nice. The Varjo Aero at least has an exhaust fan built into it.
>>390245983
NTA but NMS is just a bad port and performance hog. With a 5600x and 3070 I could get somewhat smooth gameplay but there was still stutter when flying in/out of planets or the loading screens. Entering the Anomaly also usually killed my framerate. If you google you'll mostly find outdated tweak guides from launch, don't worry about any [numthreads] stuff, the game automatically sets that correctly now. Everything else seems to make next to no difference as far as I can tell. You can turn up some of the graphical settings like texture quality and filtering with little performance impact but CPU intensive settings like higher base quality impacted my FPS the most.
I've seen people saying they had success using DLSS/FSR but I could barely tell the difference between any of the AA options, they all blur the shit out of the image to the point where I feel shortsighted.
>>390246770

Does anyone here have experience with Skyrim's lewd mods? I remember being able to get SL and SLAL to play nice with Skyrim VR, but I can't get them to work with Enderal VR. I'm running Nemesis, but all characters are still stuck in t-pose. Apparently there's an incompatibility with some anims and Nemesis, and I'd have to run FNIS instead, but I distinctly remember refusing to run FNIS when I played Skyrim like a year or two ago, so I can't remember what fix or workaround I must have used.
>>390258906
There is an Enderal-Sexlab compatibility patch on LoversLab. You could use https://www.loverslab.com/topic/132489-skyrim-sexlab-and-vr/ alongside it and then use xedit to make both patches play nice together, but there's no guarantee that even that will work.
>>390259776
I guess I just took for granted that if I could get LL to work in Skyrim VR, I could also get it to run in Enderal, since Skyrim is basically running Enderal as a mod, instead of it running by itself as its own exe. I also guess I just assumed it would work out of the box because I had gotten SL to work with the flat version of Enderal, but I just realized that was Enderal LE, not Enderal SE. Thanks, I'll look for that patch.
>>390261241
Also, since I'm here and asking stupid questions I already knew the answer to then forgot, does anyone know why SSEdit isn't showing any mods? It's only showing the plugins for the vanilla Skyrim VR install, even though I'm running SSEdit from within MO2 and the path is configured correctly.

Also, nice channel, haven't seen it before.
https://youtube.com/c/Raicuparta
>>390281762
the devs basically gave up on further developing the gameplay and adding more ships to salvage. Eventually they admitted that the reason why is that it was too hard for them, so instead they just focused on their extremely shitty, unskippable story that everyone absolutely hated
then they also said that there will be no way for modders to make custom ships because they used licensed software to make the game which forbids them from releasing modding tools
there are only 4 ships to salvage, each can have different variations but all that changes is the interior of the ship
extremely disappointing game, especially for those who bought it in EA hoping that they would eventually add more gameplay content
do NOT buy this game, pirate it if you really want to play it
>>390282592
Damn, that sucks, but I would still like a game like this in for VR. Not like a mod could add proper 0g physics interaction with hands, anyway.
>>390282592
I played it on Game Pass and it was fine, the story is kinda crappy and the unskippable bits are terrible, but it was still fun to cut up and salvage ships until I finished the game. The ships are more varied than you make out though, yes there is only 4 ship models but each has several variants that are more than just different interiors.
>>390283586
fair enough, I played it when it was in EA and pretty much got to the end, even managed to pay off the debt that the game story considers to be impossible to pay off
when I wanted to go back to it, I found out that during every major update they did in EA, all progress was reset back to zero, they did this 4 fucking times, even with the last update that added absolutely nothing except for the ending to their shitty story
so if you played it in EA, not only you got your saves deleted several times, but you didn't even get any new playable content to go with it
>>390286536
That's one of the reasons why you shouldn't play early access games.

Project Wingman newcomer Anon here
I'm have performance issues, even at 90hz (I have RTX 3080 12GB, 11th gen I9-11900 processor). Does anyone know any tips and tricks to make it still look good and have a stable 85fps+
I had found a stable way until Mission 5, where the city and amount if units brought fps down by 30-40. I'm already using VR performance kit
What else can I do without making the game look very ugly (no shadows, bad clouds etc), most of my settings are medium/high
>>390330371

Most of the settings help when lowering, but under the high/medium branch, it does look realy ugly. Clouds become pixelated blobs, cities becomes a few square blocks. In case anyone was wondering, or was planning on playing Enderal VR, SexLab works, you just have to run an xEdit script to account for Enderal's custom races. For some reason, most vanilla Skyrim races are named the same in the mod files, but Redguard and I think High Elf are called something else, which was messing with compatibility
>>390164874
If you're on oculus, you can use the debug tool to force 45 fps with reprojection (and disable space warp as a bonus).
>>390396109
Skyrim and sex mods seem like such a hassle to install and play, I just wanna fuck big titted elves.
>>390406751
It's not that complicated in retrospect, I just forgot to take into account that even though Enderal is using mostly Skyrim's assets, there's some xEdit fuckery happening in the background because the mod author/team renamed everything, which means having to forward or change references in xEdit. Because in Enderal, a Nord isn't a "Nord," he's a "Half-something or other;" a wolf isn't a "Wolf," it's a "Deerstalker," etc.

You have to hit the notes that correspond to each hand (yellow and blue), but there's also rails that you have to follow, either hand notes where you have to hit the entire streak with the same hand (pink), and ones where you have to use both hands together (white). My colours are custom.
Custom songs, avatars, and stages are supported by default so they don't break with updates, the scoreboards work, and all stages support all modes and options, instead of requiring variants to be made. The two main game modes are attempting to hit the notes precisely (rhythm) or maintaining velocity while hitting them (force) which leads to two different styles of play. Other options include rotating stages, steering the stage left and right by leaning, scaling the playspace up to 1.5x size, and a variety of difficulty options. Multiplayer with avatars too. Essentially things that Beat Saber required mods or updates years later to add.
The only thing Beat Saber has over it is more custom songs (there's still over 2000) and a competitive scene.
>>390464525
>is it good to get?
Depends what you expect. It has largely been a gun simulator with no real purpose up to this point. The game modes are secondary for sure. That might change if the dev implements those tools well and players can create a real game out of it.
>>390464525
I'd say pirate the game to try it out. It's effectively a tech demo that never goes on sale right now. Pay for it if it actually implements proper game mode modding. The dev is a huge SJW who was afraid of modding up until this point, so time will tell if he really changes his tune or if the modding super super locked down mod.io crap.
>>390473123
He changed his tune on modding over a year ago and even works with modders directly now. Before that he pretended it didn't exist then said it's not his problem if it breaks with an update.
Wait, if I use OpenComposite (OpenXR) can I view my desktop? I'm trying to control my PC in VR from my simrig.

Skills need to be improved via skill books, which are bought from vendors or sometimes found as loot. You best max speech early so you can afford everything.
>>390512589
You can try another alternate start mod like Skyrim Unbound or Opening Scene Overhaul.
>>390513426
Yeah, I had forgotten how the game works. Now I look dumb. I thought the Skill Books used Knowledge Points, which you get in conversation. That's actually reassuring, though, it means everything is working fine and I can keep playing the game. Except for a mod incompatibility issue, but I can't figure out what the problem is, and the mod wasn't crucial anyway.
>>390512589
Just do what you would do normally on a start of the game
>Use the nearest stone when you spawn in RoL to go to Helgen
>Go to Riverwood
>Talk to the trader to hear about the missing claw as a reason to go to Bleak Falls Barrow
>Go to Jarl Balgruf and tell him about the dragon and then give his wizard the dragonstone you got from Bleak Falls Barrow
>Continue the main quest along with doing whatever you damn well please as it's an open world RPG where you can go everywhere unless you use Morrowloot or something
Realm of Lorkhan has other starting options if you care little for the main quest. You can even set yourself as a member of the bandit or forsworn factions if you feel like it. Other alt start mods can make it so that the main quest and the dragons never show up so you can roleplay and do other things if you want. If you have absolutely never played Skyrim before then maybe Opening Scene Overhaul is a better option as it'll still give you the opening scene, but not broken as is usually the case when you install lots of mods. Modlists are often not a good idea for beginners unless it is a bare essentials modlist for that reason.
Does Green Hell run bad for anyone else?
What are some comfy vr games where you can watch anime at the same time
Does the Skyrim mod list UVRE not exist anymore? I played Skyrim VR like a year ago with it, and now I'm playing Enderal VR, but I'm not a big fan of the lighting in interior spaces, so I tried going to the uvre discord channel to see what lighting mods were used, but the channel is gone. And Google's results are only giving me old reddit threads

Natural Locomotion seems like a weird in-between phase of locomotion in games. Like, if I want to feel immersive movement/locomotion, I'd rather just buy one of those VR omni-treadmills.
>>390574681
you gotta consider the fact that the software only costs 10 bucks while treadmills cost over a grand, if more

>>390606452
Karnage Chronicles is baad. The combat is the worst sort of waggle, and it is maybe four hours long. I'd skip it. Zero Caliber is really iffy too. Get the Quest version instead as it is greatly improved while the PC version hasn't gotten any of the new udpates.
I want to get some VR friends into Vivecraft (Minecraft VR Mod) since its a really great sandbox/survival experience, but none of them have tried/bought Minecraft before. Because of Minecraft's... reputation, how can I convince them to just enjoy the experience rather than the kid community puts out there.
Also it doesn't help that the only way to get is through Microsoft store, (the pirated version doesn't have multiplayer right?) so thats also difficult to just get it from there.

I searched through my mod list download history on Nexus, which was a tremendous pain in the ass, and was able to find the lighting mods UVRE used, but they require USSEP as a dependency, which Enderal doesn't use. Depends on how far and sweaty you are willing to get with it and if you have the specific autism required for it. I have put +1k hours in it in about 3 years and I play it almost daily. BeatSaver (the main repo for customs) has +20k human made maps with dozens of new ones uploaded daily.
The hard part is finding shit that you can actually play when starting out. For that you want to filter for "full spread" mapsets, which have all 5 possible difficulties done. The difficulty progression isn't consistent across different mapsets, so one mapset Hard diff most likely isn't comparable to another mapsets Hard diff. Not ideal, but this way you don't have to deal with mapsets with only Expert+ diff which are made by and for people with at least 200 hours into the game. After that it's just downloading bunch of maps and trying them out. There's also some competetive leaderboard mods with star ratings and rankings like ScoreSaber if you're into those.
>>390617261
Most lighting mods like Lux and Elfx are cell specific, so wouldn't work in Enderal anyways. What you can do is get an enb and set it to make interiors brighter. I like Scenery enb for VR myself.

The first VR headset I bought was a used Samsung Odyssey+ I found on Amazon for like $300, this was in like 2019 sometime. It was just to dip my toes in the water and see if I even liked VR and if my PC was capable of running it. I played GORN, Superhot, andVR Kanojo.I ended up returning the Odyssey+ before the return window was up, but only because I really enjoyed the experience, and wanted a Valve Index instead, which was just about set to release.

Oculus Rift in 2017. I bought it after seeing VRchat webms on /wsg/ but never played it much because it wasn't what I expected. First games I purchased were Onward and Pavlov, I preferred Onward until it was ruined by updates while Pavlov was improved and I still play it regularly.
Pic related, old Pavlov when it had different weapons and inventory.

I bought it and made some bread. Hopefully the dev adds a more efficient way to make larger structures. While you can technically make an entire house out of bricks, it would take an unreasonably long time to make even the most basic wooden shack.

I started with Beat Saber, Doom VFR, Blade & Sorcery, and Karnage Chronicles. I didn't bother with Alyx until later as I wanted to get a better headset first.
>>390627483
this game is cool as fuck. i made a guillotine for wood to help make better cuts but the alignment still needs some work.
What's the right Beat Saber mod to force default colors for the notes of custom songs? Or has that feature finally been added to vanilla? I recently reinstalled the game and don't have any mods or customizations yet aside from custom songs.
Loading up a faster-paced song and trying to keep track of which hand goes to the green notes and which hand goes to the black notes or whatever, especially if the song involves a lot of crossing, is a pain in the ass that isn't worth it. Give me back my red and blue.

I figured it out, but by then it was too late to delete my post. It was me being stupid. I still have my regular/non-Enderal Skyrim VR folder set up on a different drive, because I won't want to have to redownload it later, but the problem was, I had forgotten that xEdit saves the plugin list to AppData, not MO2's VFS, so the plugin list was blank because it was still loading the plugin list from my other Skyrim install.

True, but in VR, every single millisecond counts.
Also, at extreme rendering resolutions the price/perf ratio of highest end recovers a little bit.
Even 4k is pretty low res compared to the native headset rendering res, even quest 2 at native is 2x amount of pixels compared to 4k.

Real close friend in my group is moving cross country and might not see them in person for a long fucking time. We've got VR so were thinking of all picking another good game to play. Anyone got experience with Demeo? Between that, After the Fall, or Legendary Tales. Trying to expand the options beyond Pavlov and Phasmaphobia.
We all play tabletops, but not too sure what to make of if it'll have content to last as it's a bit more structured than tabletop sim/D&D, but that's a bit of a pain to set up and some of the VR aspects are clunky. Most of the comments or thorough reviews I find on the game are older, and mention lack of content, and it looks like it has had some updates since then.
>>390729884
Demeo is OK but very simplistic and with very little to it. To put it in context there is no character progression in the game whatsover. It's not D&D, much less something like Heroquest. What's there is polished enough to the point that I'd say it'd be worth a try for a very steep discount. Otherwise get Divinity OS or Baldur's Gate if you want a good co-op experience.
After the Fall is pretty cool. It has surprisingly good gunplay and the devs are good about listening to the community with some of the dumb grinding mechanics being patched out. It's still only six campaign maps which you replay to unlock new upgrades, but the AI director keeps things fresh. Legendary Tales is a Korean grindfest with a demo that is intentionally over two hours long to prevent people from refunding it. There are only three enemies in it too. Tread with caution, especially given how much they ask for the game.
Good game Pavluvs!
>>390718795
What's that Lassie? The bomb fell down the well?
>>390729884
Tabletop Simulator has VR support too, you can play anything you want in that
>rendering the entire background geometry twice is cheaper than a reflection shader
>>390736313
>rendering the entire background geometry twice is cheaper
Easily could be. GPU can push tons of geometry fast, but changing shaders is usually an expensive operation.
Also, how do you think "reflection shader" works?
Rendering twice is the only way to get real reflections with no artifacts with traditional rasterization pipeline.
>>390729884
I like Demeo quite a bit. It may be somewhat simplistic but I still have good fun with all the tactical situations the game gets you into, and it's very well balanced imo; almost always feels high tension yet not unfair. It's also well polished UI-wise, unlike the million little papercuts you get in tabletop sim that make the VR experience painful. And while the devs still haven't announced any sort of custom campaign or level designer (and modders are still just scratching the surface), they are consistently putting out new updates such that I'd say there's about 12 hours of content officially now, if you think that's worth the asking price.
>>390732417
That's about what I've seen. The L4D2 VR mod existing is making After the Fall a little less appealing for us, but it's more made for VR and slightly less jank, which has some appeal. Some of the interest in Legendary Tales is the physics stuff and co-op aspect as we've played a lot of shooters. Being grindy as it is does inspire some caution though.
>>390736019
We have tried it and wasn't quite clicking. Takes a while to set up what we want and felt annoyingly jank, at least for what we play.
>>390736861
Alright, thanks for the more comprehensive view on it. I hope the devs open workshop support soon because it feels like such a perfect game for it.
i have a quest 2 and it was working fine hooked up to my PC, now all of a sudden it's laggy as fuck even just in the oculus link home screen.
the quest home screen is fine but when i connect it it goes to shit. i've run the USB connection test a bunch of times and it says the connection is good, same numbers as it was when i first got it. i even picked the headset up and moved it around while running the test and got the same results so i don't think it's a connection issue.
radeon monitor says nothing it maxing out so i don't think it's a GPU issue, but i did have to roll back to pretty old drivers to get the thing to work initially.
has anyone else had issues recently or know what i should look at?

>>390722113
What have you already tried? Have you completely deleted your install folder and reinstalled it? Post load order.
>>390739297
I think that part of what makes After the Fall good is the native VR mechanics. The gunplay is genuinely nice. Weapons have weight, and you have to physically reload. Different types of magazines change how you reload too, and gun handling involves managing recoil with both hands. The L4D2 mod is just press button to reload and guns function just as they do when playing the game flat.
>>390736861
>12 hours
I got it during the last sale and it only took me 6 hours for all four dungeons with a three character party. There is technically some randomization with the dungeon layout, but it's nowhere near your average roguelite. And of course there is zero build variety as there is no equipment or character progression. For $24 on sale I think that it's an awful value, but it might be fun with friends if you can convince them to also shell out $24 over the $3 Baldur's Gate EE costs.
>>390740091

>>390740267

>>390030613
I think it has something to do with either Unity or SteamVR, or some combination of both. I played The Atlas Mystery after getting it to work, but the Steam forums have several other people who are experiencing the same problem, both in that game and also Ruinsmagus. Like everyone else, the problem comes and goes seemingly at random, and sometimes just a reboot of SteamVR fixes it.
>>390827048
Reprojection? Headset set to 60hz or 120 with reprojection on?
>>390832217
Headset is set to 120Hz, and this is going to oust me as an idiot, but I don't actually know what reprojection is, or whether or not it's on.
>>390832391
Reprojection is like some gay shit that duplicates frames, so when your PC can't run at the required 120 fps for your 120 hz screen, it runs at 60 instead. I don't know what headset you use and what VRPerfKit uses for software, but if it's openxr there's a setting to turn it on/off/auto. Same setting was in some .cfg for steamvr somewhere. It's probably set to auto and the software detects your dogshit computer can't keep a steady 120 though, but if you can set your shit to 90hz and keep a steady 90 fps in the game, just disable gayprojection and play at 90 instead.
>>390832391
120FPS is really hard to hit in most VR games even with a 3090 just because of the resolution needed. Reprojection turns on if your system can't keep up with the selected frame rate, if your PC is only doing 110FPS then it will cut it down to 60 and make fake frames to try to keep it as smooth as 120. You should be able to see if it's happening in fpsVR you'll see the frame time graph change colour and there is a read out for reprojection. I have a 3090 and run at 90Hz, if the game is well optimized and I have room I just bump up the super sampling.
Is reprojection the same as motion smoothing? Should I turn motion smoothing off?
>>390834216
No, but I don't know what motion smoothing does. I turn it off, it's probably trash. Also, fuck this kid>>390833832
I tried setting refresh rate to 90Hz, and my framerate got cut to like 45fps, which is unplayable. My reprojection rate is like 50%, but I don't know if that's because my framerate is being cut in half by SteamVR. I tried setting the refresh rate to 144Hz, but all that did is make the graphics flicker, and changing it back to 120Hz didn't make that problem go away. The thing that's weird, is that I was running the game at like 250% resolution by accident, and my CPU frametimes were in the orange on the graph. I lowered it to 150%, and my CPU frametimes came down, but then my GPU frametimes went into the orange. I would have thought upping the resolution would have made me less CPU bound and more GPU bound.
>>390834562
*kisses you on the cheek*
>>390834947
What's your headset and CPU? And what are you using to benchmark?
>>390834947
Yeah you have reprojection turned on or either to auto and your PC can't hold 90/120/whatever your hz is fps and it's cutting it in half. Also try at 100% SS for starters.
