So that this doesn't blow up into drama let me explain that situation from my perspective.
The EU spring festival event died out and most people moved to the Intermediate instance, and I followed. When I joined, almost every vrg person that was online was there. I don't think there was a single rando in the instance at that point. None of us were aware that it wasn't a vrg meetup, because we don't really keep up with rando events that some people on here host.
At some point a few randos started joining and someone figured to ask the instance owner to figure out what was going on. The answer he got was "they're not causing any problems". If he had been told that this wasn't a vrg instance, then that would have been the end of it and no one would have cared. But we all thought it was a meetup, and the standard way of dealing with randos and TDA glowies in most meetups is to votekick them, so most of us simply decided to initiate votekicks and vote "yes" on existing ones. We know from experience that if 1 TDA joins a regular meetup they tend to multiply extremely quickly.

There were 2 people who initiated the votekicks to my knowledge, but if they had not done it first, I would have. It was a simple miscommunication on both ends, and in the end no one was harmed or kicked anyway so it's whatever.

serious question, i'm an EU and always struggle to stay awake for NA, I usually never make it because they only get on at like 5-6 AM.
if I was an NA, I would double-dip EU and NA hours so hard. I would get on in the afternoon/early evening for EU hours, take a break and charge my stuff when things die out, and then join the NA meetup. why don't more NA's do this?

it was a mistake on those people's part to start the kicks in this case, but in a regular meetup i have seen what happens when randos don't get kicked by the instance owner and it generally leads to a bad experience for many people there. the instance owner will first say "oh it's only a few people it doesn't matter" and before you know it there's hordes of them at spawn, by then it's too late as there are too many or the instance owner fucks off/goes AFK and no one can clean it up.
it's hardly a problem if mistaken votes get initiated, if most people don't mind they will vote no, if they do mind then the majority can vote yes. that's hardly playing jannie, almost anyone can initiate one and everyone is on the same "level"

Even neets get hungover; sunday is the designated night off. There are weekday alcoholic meets on monday and tuesday, although those tend to be more /trash/-aligned though so fair warning.

There are also smaller groups of people that are on most evenings, although drinking is not as prevalent at those smaller gatherings.

It's actually insane how different it looks as a default base. The eyes, nose, mouth, proportions, hair, shading are all completely different (the neck is actually shaded too for instance). I guess if you did the same amount of bad edits to any model it would be just as grotesque.

I suspect that most people in the MMD community were very new to 3D modelling and used bad tools (PMX editor, lmao), while creators still in it now have had time to accumulate a lot of experience or get in from the sidelines with prior experience, and our tools are much more sophisticated.
