I keep getting in this vicious cycle where I will boot up blade and sorcery to let off steam but then ill get too focused on just killing and fucking with women. I tried out FBT in Zenith and it's alright
the rig is usually pretty accurate when it comes to the knees and feet but goes sour once you're above the hips. it's not that noticeable when you're hanging out with others unless you're laying down (you can see at the end of the webm where my right hand and head actually are)
overall I'd say it's a much needed addition despite the scuff, walking around and gesturing while you're hanging out in a group waiting for your health to come back or playing chess/connect 4 is nice

Does the auto-hide avatar feature not actually hide avatars as far as cpu processing goes? I'll be in a busy map, getting 20-30fps w/ quite a few very poor avatars, and even if everyone is turns to a grey diamond by tweaking with the hide distance, it's still 20-30fps.

Congrats, you cracked the puzzle. While avatar performance and optimization is very important, the game itself doesn't scale all too well and just having players in your instance murders your framerate, avatars shown or not.
Also, avatar hider doesn't disable animators anymore, which are probably one of the most CPU-intensive parts of optimized avatars right now (and every avatar must have one in order for just about anything to work). This change was done because it didn't play nicely with animators that use write defaults or more complex state machines.
I think it's better if VRC just told people to fix their animators, but they have to cater to the average person who may not be willing or able to do so.

well i've noticed that weekdays are a lot deader than usual for EU, used to be that we would regularly have 30-person instances randomly. now we generally have 10-20 people, or sometimes even none outside of a friends-only cozy boat.

What I think they have in mind is some hacky internal animator stuff where if an avatar is un-hidden, they forcibly restore the animator's state to what it should be. Problem with that is that it might skip over some states which the author relies on for setup.
At this point I feel like they should just tell people to stop using write defaults, and offer an automated script that makes a "reset" layer for you automatically in your animator controller, which is the same behavior as write defaults minus all the bugs. Few shops ago it was announced that https://github.com/FlailingFog/KK-Blender-Porter-Pack/releases/tag/V6.1.1 required Blender 3.2, that was a mistake, the plugin can function with Blender 3.3 but it warns you it won't work. Using both of them though, 3.3 just works and 3.2 is broken for the generation of the shaders required for the bake. If you touch this make sure to get the development branch of cats as yes, it is required for part of the Koikatsu exporter https://github.com/absolute-quantum/cats-blender-plugin/tree/development

The multiplayer bonelab function was tested https://bonelab.thunderstore.io/package/notnotnotswipez/Bonelab_Multiplayer_Mockup/ and as this is being typed, they apparently rolled out another update. It didn't work very well last week but it will be tested again pending this update. ChilloutVR pub/meet crawl will be at the usual time Friday 7pm PST 10pm EST.

If it's actually a bundle, that's slightly less bad, but they didn't mention one way or the other. They're not beating Quest 2 on software or price though, so it still doesn't make a whole lot of sense for VR. Also doesn't help that the base model has a worse screen than the QLED one they were talking up, and even the QLED resolution isn't much higher than the Quest 2 either.
