If you start to feel sick when playing, stop and have a rest. You'll get your VR legs eventually, just don't push it.

He means 'avatar' or '(player) model'. They were called toons in an MMO called Toontown and retards not only thought this was the generic term to use in every game, but also somehow managed to make it so prolific that it still gets occasionally used 20 years later by people who have no idea that game ever existed. It would be like calling everything a 'mech' because you played Mechwarrior where it was an appropriate term.

I predict they're hauling ass on the PSVR2 version to try to revive the game. It's got none of the hurdles that Pavlov has for crossplay, should be easier to port to than Quest and might be the best way keep e-sports investment money rolling in.
That won't fix the biggest issues with the game, namely the lack of uniqueness or any non-sweat modes but right now it's dangerously close to the death spiral where people won't even boot up the game because they can see how low the player numbers are.

I think that magic at least is pretty fun with Spellsiphon. Pulling off different elemental combos is a hoot. Using Durability VR and Maximum Carnage so you can break shields and gib enemies makes it extra satisfying.

I honestly wasn't impressed. I was expecting it to be something like STALKER with lotsa cool quests, factions, interactions, modding, an actual storyline etc., but it being made by two people really shows. The graphics are somehow worse than STALKER too. I will give it points for being a real game though. I got a few dozen hours out of it compared to most VR games which give you 6 if you are lucky and cost almost as much.

With STALKER 2 being in Unreal maybe VR will get modded into it. We'll see.

If you go in expecting stalker you'll be disappointed. Go in expecting exploran, shootan, oh fuck I don't have much ammo left and sapwns are chasing me and you'll have a great time. It's more low-inventory survival and tactics rather than stalker's loot goblin

Here. I guess. I mean hgg2d/aa2g continues to be active here in /vg/ under many different circumstances. Namely, in /hgg2d/'s case, it's because there's a staggering amount of rpgmaker porn games and eroges/nukiges. Though interestingly it seems like hgg is going through a bit of death spiral regarding the acceptance of /weg/ content to keep afloat. In /aa2g/'s case, there's just a lot of original content that continues to be made by a dedicated community for a sandbox game that's now essentially abandonware. I'm kind of at a loss here how or what do you want to talk about vr porn games exactly; coming back to my original point, I can't think of a single vr porn game that can generate any sensible amount of discussion like one can in those aforementioned generals.

You'll also need the same roms as everyone else, those are here:

Extract that to your /games/ folder it should have each system there.

You should be able to join and see everything loaded up. If you have issues refer to https://www.emuvr.net/wiki/Netplay#Troubleshooting

It's weird because it feels halfway between a tech demo and a game because of how empty the levels are. There's a lot of stuff scattered in the levels but when I think it's hiding a secret or a bonus or something it just ends up leading to nothing. Maybe it picks up later.
It does seem like the perfect game to have modding tools for though, I guess that's what they wanted to do for Bonelabs but I haven't heard great things about that either.

So I honestly dont' really know much about vr.
Does vr have many lightgun games like the old school ones from the late 90s/early 00s?
I'd love to play something like Time Crisis again. And do any of the major vr sets have controllers that have actual gun form factors and not just stuff you attach the wands to? I don't mean like controllers that look like rl guns, But just something that has a pistol grip, front hand guard, and a stock.

holy shit I've only been asking for this for FUCKING FOUR YEARS. Less excited about the zombie part of it and the combat looks pretty average. Wondering how the online part will work too. If it's like a MMO where everyone just gets thrown into one big server it might be a shitshow when the zombies come out. Could also be like 7 days to die where the zombies come in big waves at night, increasing each time. Will probably nab it this weekend and drop a review itt about it.

Things they got right is pseudo-MonHun mission layout with repeating same zones for simple questing
Things they got completely wrong is balance, anomalies and enemies
Some anomalies are alright, as much as some enemies, but it's not okay to have PM nigger shooting through 300m on building ceiling, as much as running with speedhack. Also melee enemy goes way too close if you don't strafe, literally impossible to shoot at that close range

Best move for Snoy would be to make PSVR2 PC compatible to maximize their sales, Snoyggers mostly get a PS5 more cuz of "muh Fifa" more than anything, its just literal monkeys that own them just for that, not even that much for "muh exclusives"
Hell, even Snoy went full retard now with "VR exclusives" like the Horizon VR game that they will release, and I bet that shit will do SO POORLY, that soon it will be able to purchase on Steam to coup for the massive losses.

Lmao probably. I consider the Deckard to be in the pile of all of the other things that Valve worked on by never did anything with due to their ADHD. I bought a ps5 just for this headset as fucked as it may seem but I know others here have too. Call of the mountain looks good and so does Turismo and Resi8. Making comparisons with the vr mod and an actual proper port with superior fidelity and dual wielding is just stupid so please don't waste your time. "muh exclusives" keep selling time and time again so clearly there must be a massive market for them. The fact that the entire package costs ~1000$ with pcvr fidelity is pretty impressive.

It would be retarded if they don't port the whole thing seeing how re8 is getting its whole campaign ported. GT7 progression is horrid. I've made some decent grind builds just so I can buy whatever car I like and take it down the Nordschleife which I'd imagine will be extremely exciting and tense in vr.

Yet the 1st PSVR didnt sold that much, considering it was HALF the price of the 1st Oculus and the HTC Vive when these came out, what makes you think Snoy will do well selling the PSVR2 then if they keep it as a exclusive device for a console that doesnt have a decent catalogue of games, yet alone not many sales itself? And like I said before, Playstation is literally a "muh fifa" console, thats why most people fucking buy them more than anything, simracer fags will buy any device since they dont have many choices, besides being almost as niche as those flightsim games that have a controller that is 200$ alone, which is just a part of the whole flightkit.
If they wanna succeed selling them, again, they gotta give full PC VR support, doing that, they might as well crush even the Quest.

psvr1 outsold every pcvr only headset combined. PSVR2 irrefutably has the best launch titles of any vr headset. PC support would be cool but not lucrative at all. idk why only exclusives count as "games". The most notable pcvr games will be ported as well as other third party games like re8 and re4remake. Also you're really stretching the pcvr userbase. Quest 2 alone surpassed the pcvr userbase 10 fold. PSVR2 will be somewhere between the two since I know way more people who own a ps5 than people who have a 2070 and up in their rigs. It's actually stupid that the index costs the same as a ps5 + psvr2. The barrier of entry to pcvr is far higher than psvr2 both in terms of price and user knowledge. PSVR2 selling well because of pc compatibility is laughable

Apart from the bundled Snore-izon, these are the launch games I'm probably going to play. I have an Index so a majority of the announced titles are hard to justify buying again, unless they make interesting use of the controllers and eye-tracking. I'm not optimistic for the first-party output, ever since the Blood & Truth devs announced they were making some flat screen multiplayer trash instead of a VR sequel. Part of me thinks maybe Insomniac will do a Resistance VR or anything VR, due to their work for Oculus, though I also wouldn't be surprised if Sony just has them focus on the capeshit projects this generation.

I know it's only two games, but I will always wish that the DualSense gamepad supported VR tracking for Statik and Astro Bot. They're fantastic games that are sadly going to be lost to time.

That's not TOEFL? Plus no excuses but I never had a mock exam. I learned the alphabet and some basic words in first grade. After that I kept skipping English class, never did homework, never had mock exams or any guidance. I learned spoken English from Cartoon Network as a kid and the grammar from browsing 4chan. I went to my exam on no sleep after having played Diablo 2 all night and finished way before everyone else so I can fuck off asap and not be around people. 110/120 is fine. Now I work with Americans and tell them how to do their job. They understand me more than fine.

Anyways, news on Index 2? I want to have the new VR standard, which is currently the Index, but that's already old technology.

Just played Survival Nation for about 2 and a half hours co-op. It's very confidently and firmly "good". Feels like an MMO with how the enemies spawn in clusters, the map-marked gathering spots, and how the map is laid out. We got one random guy joining us too but he didn't have a mic or stick around for long.
Melee combat has decent impact and isn't wet spaghetti. Guns are good to shoot though reloading is a bit weird without having like a physical ammo pouch. Climbing is crisp but you can't throw yourself. Enemies aren't terribly varied but do have a couple of different types. The enemies also have levels like borderlands so you might stumble onto some high level enemies and get fucked if you explore too far. Crafting is just a menu though it's straight forward and not convoluted. UI and controls are perfectly fine but again are menu based rather than physical slots and holsters (similar quick menu to alyx).
Everything about it is okay so other than there being some other game that does each feature better, it's hard to find anything overtly wrong with it. One good thing I was worried about to start is that it definitely has a lot of stuff in it. Pic related is the map as zoomed out as it goes. There's a whole city area south of the river so what's shown is about half the total map. Marked area is the area we explored in over 2 hours play time. I recorded the whole session so I'll slice up some webms tomorrow.

If 60fps reprojection is implemented properly it would make hybrid games far more plausible. If a flatscreen game can run at 4k60 with DRS than porting it over to a vr display of that same resolution assisted with eye tracked foveated rendering 60fps can be easily done. couple that with reprojection and motion sickness is pretty much alleviated.

Ok. I was looking at the Reverb G2 V2 to pair with my new gaming PC. I've read the downside here is the controller tracking and lack of headphone port. I don't really want to get Zucked so the MQ doesn't seem like a good time and everything else is outside of my budget.

I mostly intend to use it for shit like Skyrim VR and youtube. Couldn't give a flying fuck about Anime Coomer Hangout or whatever bullshit people are using VR for.

Should I pull the trigger on it or wait for the MQ3 despite the zuckening?
Anonymous No.417288104

The Zuckening is easy to avoid, no need for facebook and it isnt an issue to create a real fake meta account. The reverb G2 is the better choice in that price range if you don't mind to be thetered and want to exclusively play pcvr

I have a 3070ti and wasn't planning on playing anything ultra demanding. The high resolution appeals to me because I should be able to maxx out skyrim/fallout and also view 4k content off the tubes which is appealing.

As for the controller tracking, I've been told I can swap out the controllers for the valve index controllers but idk if there's any truth to that

I wouldn't bet on it. Swapping out the controllers is an expensive gimmick and doesn't work as well as you'd think. The tracking itself will be perfect, but the setup is a literal meme. At that point might as well just get an Index. The lower res and screen door is probably worth it when you'll be able to play at a smooth 90 with a wider FOV and not have to deal with Steam VR. That being said buying an index now is probably not a smart move either, but me personally I'd only get a G2 for simracing, and if I had a 4080+. Other than that just get a job and buy and index. By the time the new index comes out just buy that with your money you got from your job. Just my opinion.

Oculus Killer? I found that the claims of "better performance" were extremely variable at best. Some games ran the exact same, other games ran noticiebly worse and had stuttering/tracking issues because of it. This was completely wired as well.

Based on everything I've seen we're going from a fov of 90 degrees to 105 degrees. Going from 3.5k to 4k resolution per eye. Significantly better lenses. And most importantly, a 2.5x graphical performance bump. To put that into context:

SD 835 (Quest1) = 0.6 TFlops
XR2 (Quest2) = ~1.4 TFlops ; with downclock probably closer to 1 TFlop
PS4 = 1.8 TFlops
GTX 960 = 2.4 TFlops (Rift min spec)
XR2 gen2 (Quest 3) = ~2.5 TFlops
PS4Pro = 4.3 TFlops
GTX 1060 = 4.4 TFlops

To better contextualize, considering real world performance with the various performance hacks each platform has and their use cases, with the higher resolution and refresh rate expected of VR, we should be approaching PS4 levels of detail.

This thing is going to look and feel great. Consider also the M2 powered Apple standalone headset that's being rumored... Unless the index 2 has some real magic to it, I expect to see PCVR die.

>I expect to see PCVR die
you're retarded
standalone will coexist but pcvr simply won't die because the headset performance will never reach pc performance
what will happen is wireless pcvr becoming standard

Why no handhelds in emuvr? It would be pretty dope if you got to hold an actual psp or ps2 controller if you were to play the emulated titles in the psvr2 home environment but that will never happen since there is no controller tracking :(

Controller tracking was the one edge sony could've actually had over pcvr and they blew it.

Nobody will make content where there isn't a market. Every PCVR game is either a (poorly done) flat screen port or a (lower fidelity, can't leverage the better hardware) standalone port. And that's the state today. It's only going to get worse.
Anonymous No.417490353

It's just going to have to take the long way it should've taken in the first place: enthusiasts and modders build PCVR up from grassroots until the market is sizeable enough.

depends. its unique to set itself away from other games, cross platform. already has a really good starting point with its PC spectator client so it can have a solid competitive scene.
only deciding point if it lives or dies is the price point at release.
Otherwise it has a really good chance of staying alive

I certainly hope so, but the playerbase is dogshit, had to mute all voice chat because even if you get a lobby without screaming squeakers you get obnoxious isolated faggots that think they're ebin and try making shitty calls while they're dead and refuse to let anyone concentrate because their fathers didn't give them enough attention.

Anonymous No.417515262 Replies: >>417551042

HyperDash had zero marketing, server problems at launch, never fixed the game crashing on Quests and a style of gameplay that was ruined when large skill gaps were present.
Breachers has a lot more going for it this time around but they actually need to support the game with more than just new maps to keep people playing.

Just be careful with games that require you to do fast swings like Boneworks or Thrill of the Fight, it can really become a frustrating experience at least that's what I've been experiencing on my Q2. I heard QPro and Pico 4 have slightly better tracking.

Pretty good puzzle game, combat should have been scrapped it was very barebones and lacked polish, though I did like the level where you play as a Nazi and gun down filthy communists with a mounted machine gun
I kept expecting the watch to lecture me about how the nazis were bad and muh holocaust and how ackshually the commies were misunderstood heroes but it never did which was a nice surprise, modern games usually take any excuse to preach the devs personal politics at you
Any games like the drumming section?

They only covered it when it was announced though I'm not sure how relevant journalism sites really are for VR games. I occasionally check a few but they barely get any engagement even when people link the article on Reddit/Twitter.
Meanwhile videos from popular Youtubers can reach hundreds of thousands and VR TikToks get into the millions.

Triangle Factory have ran early access sessions with Youtubers and they're active on social media in ways that they weren't for Hyperdash. It's probably more worth their time and money to do that than sponsor dozens of articles like certain other VR devs.
