If image in the headset looks blurry but fine on the monitor, increase your rendering resolution!
If you start to feel sick when playing, stop and have a rest. You'll get your VR legs eventually, just don't push it.

Opinions on Red Matter 2
Is it still worth getting?
Do I need to play the first game?
I want to cuck myself with a 4090 for VR but there's none in stock.
>>420329775
Haven't played it. Pirate the game, test it and if its decent buy it
>>420321414 (Cross-thread)
I already have the damn headstrap so I'm just gonna buy another bobo battery. It's 10$ more expensive but not having to deal with wires and the counterweight is a plus.
>Valve has new job listings for VR hardware positions
The people who think we're getting the Deckard any time soon are retarded.
big think
>>420338131
Only if the game is decent or so hilariously bad and under $3
God I love Rumble. The concept of earthbending works really well in a VR PvP game
>>420341265
This a new cool VR game or something? I've been away from VR for months as I usually do.
>>420341265
The controls remind me too much about the Wizard. The idea of having to perform certain movements for an action sound nice on paper, but with all the mediocre tracking and chance to mix things up, its mostly just frustrating
I'm bored and want to play vr games for a few weeks straight at least 8 hours a day. I'll scrape for free games and give news later
>>420341365
It's currently in early access. Right now it's 1v1 only (unless someone hosts a park to fuck around in). I hope there will be some more gamemodes and map variety soon, but the groundwork is there and already lots of fun
>>420341908
Try République, its free
>>420341628
Yeah it can be frustrating at first. For the first few hours I just stumbled around with the moves, but once I got a good feel for the pose requirements it works really well imo
>>420341265
>>420342105
>>420343815
damn that's actually kinda cool
do they want to make it a full fledged avatar game with all the bending or what's their endgoal?
snakior is so cool!! he's my favorite vrchatter. he should be a vtuber
>>420347371
wrong thread you retarded tranny
>>420343815
Woah you owned that guy.
>>420329775
I'd really only recommend Red Matter 1 if it's really, really cheap. It looks pretty but it's ridiculously short and frankly there isn't that much substance to any of it. Still playing through Red Matter 2. 2 picks up right where 1 left off but there isn't that much plot because it's so short and simple.

>Meta has sold nearly 20 million Quest headsets to date
>With regards to the VR roadmap, employees were told that Meta’s flagship Quest 3 headset coming later this year will be two times thinner, at least twice as powerful, and cost slightly more than the $400 Quest 2.
>Meta’s main challenge with the Quest 3, which is internally codenamed Stinson, will be convincing people to pay “a bit more” money than the cost of the existing Quest 2, according to Rabkin. “We have to get enthusiasts fired up about it,” he told employees Tuesday. “We have to prove to people that all this power, all these new features are worth it.”
>Mixed reality will be a huge selling point, and Rabkin said there will be a new “smart guardian” to help wearers navigate the real world while they are wearing the device. “The main north star for the team was from the moment you put on this headset, the mixed reality has to make it feel better, easier, more natural,” he said. “You can walk effortlessly through your house knowing you can see perfectly well. You can put anchors and things on your desktop. You can take your coffee. You can stay in there much longer.
>There will be 41 new apps and games shipping for the Quest 3, including new mixed reality experiences to take advantage of the updated hardware, Rabkin said.
>In 2024, he said that Meta plans to ship a more “accessible” headset codenamed Ventura. “The goal for this headset is very simple: pack the biggest punch we can at the most attractive price point in the VR consumer market.”

I feel like they've shown their hand with the Pro and it isn't that strong.
>>420374638
With the Pro, they rushed to get a product ahead of time before apple/HTC, and etc. Also, it's treated as a product to test their shit so they could use it on Quest 3.
i wanna play fallout 4 vr
>>420376559
But Quest 3 won't have eye/facetracking.
>>420376970
To beta test the AR software with the color passthrough which is the main selling point of the Quest 3.
>>420331760
The moment I saw a 4090 for MSRP I jumped on it. Feels like the modern GPU market has made me lose something as a person.
>>420372392
>Mixed reality will be a huge selling point
which means they'll neglect everything else
fuck
>>420376970
That's lame, I thought it was gonna at least get eye tracking.
Many moons and threads ago an anon in here recommended Koikatsu VR with some kind of inverse kinematic mod so you don't have to watch canned animations, but the dumb fuck that I am, I lost the github link to that mod and it won't google because I don't even fully remember what it was. Does anyone have it?
>>420393224
No. But have a bump
>>420331760
I have a 3090, and still kind of want a 4090 for VR.
>>420398623
I have a 1080 ti and dont feel like upgrading anytime soon
>>420398623
I'd get a 4090 just for more grass in skyrim

>>420372392
I hope that the new games will actually be decent. I'm not expecting anything out of the AR ones, but surely they'll get around to releasing San Andreas and doing something will all of those studios they bought if they haven't laid everyone off already.
>>420405194
Thanks!
>>420398623
Yeah the G2 especially needs it.
>>420406246
After playing the San Andreas map in Bonelab I hope they dont fuck it up
>>420406246
Sometimes Young Conker pops into my head and I get really angry at the state of the world.

Where are my GoT Chads? almost time for Alpha Access
>>420454609
no
>>420376824
I get worried about having to download so many mods to make it great.
bonp
Playing RE7 with the VR mod and it's a pretty good time. Should I play RE8 with the mod or hold out on the slim hope that Capcom throws PC VR a bone?
>>420484320
Go ahead and play it. They're not gonna port it over. At the absolute best, it'll be timed exclusivity for 1 year, but look at how that worked out for RE7.
>>420484320
REframework is actually really good for a mod, I'd say just play it
>>420484320
It's not coming to pc. What other reason to buy a psvr2 if the gt7 and resi8 ports aren't exclusive?
>>420495349
>What other reason to buy a psvr2 if the gt7 and resi8 ports aren't exclusive?
If you own a PS5 but you don't have a good PC to play PCVR games?
>>420496742
I presumed everyone in this thread had a pretty good pc to begin with but yeah you're right. I bought a PS5 for PSVR2 alone.
>>420454609
Right here, waiting, just like before.
>>420488891
It's kind of amazing how Capcom's approach to VR doesn't even remotely entertain the idea of making money by selling VR games to customers.
>>420503271
Do you mean sell VR versions of games or patch them in as DLC? I'd buy VR versions for full price if they have proper motion controls and decent performance but I guess the money they'd make from those versions doesn't surpass how much Sony's paying them.
>>420504314
They haven't done either, the two approaches they've had are free VR modes paid for by Sony or licensing out their game to Meta while having no part in the development at all. They have yet to do anything that would involve a transaction with the actual VR audience.
my skyrim VR experience so far
>play for 20 miinutes
>find something I don't like
>spend half an hour fixing it
>break something
>spend 2 hours fixing it
>battery is dead at this point so I have to recharge for another 2 hours
>repeat
>>420511290
Only real thing I had to fix was the audio, by using that 3d audio dll replacement. Why they released the game like that baffles me, everything sounds like it's in front of your regardless of its actual position relative to your headset.
>>420511290
Same, and I even saved a lot of time by using FUS as a base. I just hope I actually manage to finish the game this time.
>>420511290
Doesn't matter how you play skyrim, this is always the way.
>>420511290
This sounds like the typical Bethesda experience?
>>420509691
capcom also does VR arcade stuff I think
>>420509691
It's aggravating as fuck. I'd pay for a VR DLC if it means getting some of the PSVR-exclusive shit on PC a year or so after the fact.
>>420376824
You are appreciated, Chikasaposter.
I took a break from VR and now I've lost my motivation to play any VR games
>light brigade is a roguelike
does this mean you start over every single time and dont make any progress in anything ever
i hate this kind of shit
if im playing for the stupid addictive dopamine rush of gaining le XP, leveling up and unlocking "skills" then at least dont make me fucking restart every time just to pad out your shitty game with barely any content
>>420535183
You unlock classes (they're more like weapon loadouts) and purchase permanent upgrades for that class or all classes. Only the cards and weapon attachments start over.
>>420518710
I stopped playing Bethesda games because of this.
>>420535152
Do you still play flat games?
>>420540109
Only moddable autism appealing sims like Rimworld or Anno. I had almost completely run out of enthusiasm for flat games prior to trying VR. Now after 4 years the poor pace and quality of VR releases is making it feel stale, like VR games are best left as a side-dish for flat gaming or a brief distraction from a VRChat addiction.
>>420519669
thats very nice of you to say
>>420535152
i get motivated by desire for weapons grade escapism!
