Had a 6800XT for a short time. Performance was actually fine in the few games I tried out, but had weird issues in VRC with video players unless you used old drivers and some shaders caused weird flickering.
Had some issues getting it to correctly recognize my Index on the latest drivers at the time too and always got black screens on boot if my headset was plugged in regardless of the driver version I tried.
Wasn't worth the trouble, so I ended up going back to my 5700XT which didn't have those issues. Grabbed a used 3090 later which has been fine.

CV1 has not so great sweet spot, you have to find it and then mount it securely on your head so it won't move too much once it sits right. It's extra difficult with glasses. VROptician still makes lenses for CV1 i think, so if your eyesight is bad, you might want to consider that.

Are there any really heavy atmosphere games that are sort of spooky? I was scared to play Into the Radius because STALKER got me pretty good. I'm enjoying the game but the enemies are pretty unintimidating and there's no subtly to the sound design. A Pico 4 is around $380 in my country right now. Is it a decent entry point into VR? Mainly gonna use it for PC-VR so I doubt the smaller library matters that much.

The tech seems overall better than a Quest 2, but I've heard people say it's fairly uncomfortable and it's lenses are a bit hit & miss. That said considering the Quest 2 is still around fucking $525 here it seems way more economical.

I think Quest 2 might be better if you do not have a strong PC to run PCVR because then you've got access to a huge catalog of games that run natively which you can also all pirate.

For wireless you need a dedicated wifi 6 (ax) channels in the room you're gonna play. Battery last about 90 minutes streaming at 150mbps HEVC and 3120x3120 res. If you think you're gonna spend hours with it on you'll want to go tethered with usb-c to ethernet (20$, pic rel), a female to female adapter and a 1gbps usb-c right angled cable OR there's BOBOVR Battery pack with hotswappable batteries you can get which add about 90mins per and I think it ships with 2.
Headset itself is light enough I don't think you'll find any discomfort wearing it. Be mindful that even tweaking settings to perfecting the best latency you'll get is like 25ms~ (100mbps H264) and everything maxed out it's closer to 45-50ms so I don't think you'll make a career out of being a pro beat saber player with the added lag.

It's definitely not character action, but you might like Until You Fall. Blade & Sorcery might be worth a shot too, but it's more like normal sword fighting.
If you're fine with boxing, Creed or Thrill of the Fight might work for you.
Jet Island has some shooting, but it's really more about navigating the environment.
Climbey might sort of be what you're looking for in a platformer, not sure how outdated the demo is though.
Gorilla Tag climbing mechanics were neat, but I can't recommend spending $20 on it at this point just to be stuck playing with Quest users, but it might be worth messing around with the standalone version for a bit if you have a Quest.
