As mentioned before, this is not the typical dance hours.
At the start of the event, you will hear a livemix of /ourDJ/ that is irish themed. That doesn't change.
But it'll only last two hours this time, as after that we start the transition period. Here's where your song requests will be played.
And after that, a premix will be played instead. The reason for this is not only have we been dancing a bit more as of late, it also means
there's less focus on dancing and more on chilling and drinking with your lads. After the live mix, there'll be games you can play like at TT.

I've got two lovely anchors who will be hosting the world(s) that night.
You can join (or add if you have to) on R Y D E R and Yuru when the time is right.
This is strictly a /vrg/ event and randos and furries will not be tolerated in that instance. Bouncers will be put in place to reduce those.
So try to limit votekicks this time again, you know you vote yes anyway.
If there is a need for it, an overflow will be created.
The instance will open up at about 11:50 EST PM to let everyone funnel in properly.

The parrying is actually very satisyfing but it doesn't show on video so well. One of the best physics parries in VR.
Bosses and Multiple enemies that attack fairly fast make rapidly parry and striking them active and fun.

I still think the game is overpriced. It's missing the level of polish I expect from a higher priced game. Things like missing sound effects, UI and controls jank, a weird emptiness to parts of the levels etc. That and the character models just give off a 'cheap' feel. It seems to get more of a pass because it's co-op.

Full Anonymity only really works if we don’t actively hear each other’s voices and have video game character names.
This general is in a psuedo-anonymous state. We mostly post anonymously but we have a core playerbase who consistently meet up in-game.

The purpose of the occassional avatarfagging here is so that we know who posts here in order for us to be able to prioritize some of our time on building good relationships with each other in-game. Familiarity breeds friendliness.

Anonymity is good for battling ideas and oitting them against one another for fun, sport and finding truth.
But for building and maintaining relationships amongst friendly faces, faces are important.

We need this doubly so because in the game we play it’s not a server we just host, it’s a full on influx of other people from across the world.
We as humans only have limited time and emotional energy to use to form bonds.
Being able to have good healthy bonds on the people who use the /vrg/ thread will ensure our happiness and continued fun times. That is my thought of it anyways.

Steamlink/steamvr is pretty solid and definitely try that first. Yes you should get a new router. And more importantly, you should attach it to your PC since what you are after is a fast headset->PC link, the wifi router is just there to be a middle man. So for example if your router is out in the hallway and it's doing wifi between your PC and your headset that's going to be slow compared to plugging the router into your PC, or into ethernet somewhere closer and using it as a hotspot.

As for bitrate; as high as you can get without experiencing bad lag. Set it high and tune it down until smooth.

5ghz is a frequency, not speed rating. Speed is more or less defined by standards (b/g/n/ac/yadda yadda), and then affected by various aspects including the amount of other devices using same channel. There are multiple channels you can select from in router, so download something like android 'wifi analyzer' app and then you will see networks around you and how loud they are. Pick the channel that looks most empty.

Unless you're in a really bad spot budget-wise, do yourself a favor and get fanciest, fastest, greatest, most expensive router you can have. You'll thank yourself later. shit's just really good to have.

iirc quest 3 is not using wifi7, so you can skip this particular standard, but consider not cheaping out on overall quality. There are many, many little things that routers can do wrong, and all of that will make you miserable.

idk if I'm blind or what but whilst I noticed the paw print graphics and the general aesthetics of the UI having a certain vibe, the paw prints seemed to be a little out of place since there were no animals or animal plushies or animal art in the world. The tower defence models were lasers and rocket ships in space rather than having animal/ cutesy theming like the UI. The UI also didn't have sounds or transitions... which is again why I want to make one since I think I could certainly do better in some aspects of it.

Dying means fuck all since enemies don't respawn and healing management doesn't exist when you can cast portal and stand by the fire for a minute.
Light/Heavy strike system is garbo. You get no feedback whatsoever when your heavy strike cooldown is up and it changes from weapon to weapon.

you go around a dungeon with up to 3 people opening chests that have potions, cosmetics, coin, and weapons with random buffs. You can also do a dungeon type for exosuit buffs for feet, hands, chest, and head. One of the best running Quest games.

Does anyone want a free Quest 3? Cause here's how I got one thanks to the ignorant apes at Walmart. I was having a random rebooting issue under heavy load, so I tried to do the right thing and neatly repackage my quest and include my receipt for a refund. It's common practice to check the serial number on the device matches the one on the box right? Well, no Quest 3 is manufactured this way, each item inside the box has its own unique serial. I confirmed my product matches the box with official Meta tech support, but they still wouldn't buy it. So essentially, Walmart is selling a product claiming you can return it, but you literally can't return it thanks to their own return policy. So all I did was recind the charge on my credit card, case was found in my favor, and best of all the factory reset I did before taking it back seems to have solved my reboot issue. So now I have a free Quest 3. Get fucked, Walmart.

Ok we found out why people were crashing with the TFVR maps. Apparently playing the non-Groundwar compatible TFVR maps in Groundwar crashes people until we are under the regular player limit. Sorry about that, I've always ignored the warning because so far nothing happened.
Good game anyway. Next time will be regular Cod (both modern and WII) and STALKER maps.

Pumping is a pain but they're still a life-saver when a pyro or someone closes in on you. You just have to muscle memory your way to using left trigger, reloading is a pain in the ass though. We take auto-reloading for granted in regular TF2, so everything is a lot more work in VR. Funny that Pavlov's reload animation thing would probably do wonders for TF2VR in all things.

Unity says upload successful.
Earlier I was updating it while in game, and i didn't crash even though everyone else did. I think because I had an old version of the avatar still in my cache. It clearly was the old version before I fixed the shape keys.
Now that my cache is cleared though, it crashes before it loads just like it did for everyone else.
My unity project is up to date through vrc cc, everything looks good on that end when I upload. Emulating it with gesture manager in play mode also functions correctly.
I tried to remove the fx controller and menu and parameters just to verify it isn't an issue in the fx, but it still crashes.

Last night it uploaded fine, today I updated it to change the blendshape values of my pants I forgot to set last night.
I changed nothing else in the avatar or unity project.
Now it crashes everyone before it loads.
I did not touch the fbx or anything else.
I just checked that I can upload new avatars from the same project by uploading a slightly edited copy of another working avatar, which worked just fine.
I tried uploading the broken one again after restarting unity and this time when I changed into the avatar it showed the downloading bar and didn't crash me until it filled. I'm so confused
