I'm currently stuck with only Blade & Sorcery Nomad, are there any mods that fix the atrocious combat? I tried four different better weapon handling mods and they either didn't seem to do anything or turned my arms into glitchy rubber bands. Every weapon is so unbelievably slow I'm consistently better off throwing punches. Is there some hidden setting somewhere that makes weapons deal more damage than my bare hands and also makes them stay where my arms are instead of lagging half a second behind?

Shooting down waves of enemies looks and feels great, might be the best in VR for that. They used the weapon models and handling in Arizona Sunshine 2. The levels look good too but are unfortunately short and linear without the frantic feeling Left4Dead stages would often end on.
The biggest issue is that certain dynamic spawns, some weapon and a lot of weapon mod unlocks are behind the higher difficulties but the bots cannot survive the boss battles at the end of the level. Without anyone to play with you're locked out of that stuff. Playing with randoms isn't particularly viable because even with crossplay the multiplayer is nearly dead and if someone leaves mid-level you're often fucked.

Worth a couple of $ just to shoot hordes down, not sure if it's worth much more nowadays.

first off, caveats, it's better if (You) fully understand just how much EA hates VR before you'll spend your time and attention on it:

>some tracks in some configurations in some weather have a weird parallax effect on the ground that absolutely shits itself in VR, it shimmers and distracts the driver, but I'll do my best to prepare carefully and avoid those combinations in events

But there are upsides to make up for it. There's tons and tons of new content, you won't believe how many countries and tracks are in the game, and best of all, personally I'd say they're same handcrafted Dirt Rally quality. The amount of content is pretty much doubled compared to DR2.0, and even old stages are mostly reworked to some degree, so for example new Monaco feels as different from DR2 as it could be, given that it's based on same real world countries and stages. There's amazing Japan with tight asphalt roads, there's Mexico where you spend 90% of the time on a second gear wiggling around insanely tight corners, there's a whole whole lot of new stuff. Stages can also set to be much longer now, there are some cool new shitboxes too, and you can use simplified corner calls if you want to drive by those but you're too distracted by 30+ words for one corner.

There's no event set yet, 'm still in the middle of checking which track/weather combos can be set without raping your eyes and performance too much. I'll start off with some shorter stages in slow cars, then we can work our way up.

Got the PSVR2 PC adapter, tried HL Alyx and Blood Trail. First impressions: OLED isn't a meme. I'd have to wear my Index right after to compare, but the colors and FOV seem to make this a mostly better visual experience. If it weren't for the worse audio and controllers, this would probably be my new PC headset.

Astro Hunters just looks mediocre. It drives home to me how bleak the state of VR games and the industry in general is. Games like this comes out and asks you to fork over 20$ (10% off right now, but still) and then you can expect a year later or so the devs with huge eyebags smiling into the camera casually apologizing for shutting the game down and running away with your money. I don't even know what I'm looking forward to anymore other than logging on for the usual vrc instances and even then it all feels superfical. I was stoked for Sushi Ben when it was first unveiled but a year later it's still not on Steam and I only realized it's on Meta for 25$. Grim. I've been stung too much by EA so even games that do leave EA like B&S comes out but it feels like too little too late because you played enough of them to experience all the game has to offer; the story level that I see used to get posted and died off shortly after didn't seem interesting enough for me to bother installing it again. What's there's left to even look forward to, SMbox? It's all so tiresome.

I tried it on a 3080ti, on low, at 100% index resolution which feels somewhat pointless because game forces blurry AA regardless. It was, ugh, 'alright' performance-wise. For that particular GPU, it runs good enough on low and then even better on very low, but very low also looks like rFactor.

There are several "big" games coming, like Behemoth, Alien Rogue Incursion, Metro Awakening, and Batman Arkham Shadow. I think I was kinda biased towards the game, perhaps based on my horrible experience with their F1 game combined with info from fellow anons that WRC runs like trash. This is not entirely true, or rather way too harsh in regards to what it is. After all of the screwing around, I finally went for the following

There's also a very effective way of increasing performance hidden in VR settings (as opposed to graphics settings): it reduces your field of vision, giving you kind of a shitty attempt of pretending you're in a helmet. I didn't have performance issues as it was, but if I would, I'd definitely go for it, in side-by-side comparison it was getting me down from 11-12ms frames to 8-9ms when I was still trying to go for best frame times possible. So, this is not simply a visual effect, it's an actual significant performance gain, as explained in slider description in settings.

And god damn i'm happy, first time in years I've got to drive long-ass rally stages I was nearly completely unfamiliar with, pretty much all the way through. A special kind of feeling.

I've been researching for the past month and came close to pulling the trigger on a Quest 3. But I didn't want to spend €550 on something without holding it first. I found a demo unit in a MediaMarkt and it was shit. The screen door effect was a dealbreaker all on its own but the blacks were shit, the FOV was bad, the gasket was in my field of view. The FOV wasn't even like a white rectangle in front of me like I was expecting. It was an amorphous oblong oval. It felt like I was looking through a toilet paper tube.

I did some napkin math and I think I'm not going to be happy with anything less than 35ppd. The BSB looks shady as fuck. There is no good reason why they should be charging for a restocking fee. They're not making these custom like they claim to be. They are printing out a tiny inventory of like 15 different IPDs and then milling the gasket to order in a few seconds. They're trying to save money by using JIT supply chain. The restocking fee is just an opportunity to keep your money.

So when is the next generation coming out? I keep losing my resolve and waffling on whether to give the Quest 3 another shot. The demo unit was absolute dogshit though. There was no strap. It was locked to the table with a tight ass cable and I had to hold it against my face. The controllers were bolted down and I couldn't wrap my hands around them.

Also keep in mind the gasket can be manipulated to have it closer or further away from your face (usually to accommodate glasses users). It's possible the demo unit gasket was pushed far away for less FoV. You can adjust it by pushing in the little button on the side in pic related and moving the gasket further or towards your face.

There is a reason why the most popular VR app year after year is VRChat. Social experiences are what make VR. Being able to do things in VR with your buddies with IRL-level interactions is what makes VR so unique. VR stands for Virtual Reality and reality has other people in it.

This is a /vrg/ dancing group/club open to any anon. It is first and foremost a ParaPara (dance style for eurobeat) circle but is also open to other types of dancing, with the recent addition of Wotagei (dance style using lightsticks) as an activity.
The main goal is to actively learn those dance styles with eventual content made out of it, anyone is free to join no matter if they want to take it seriously or just as a fun thing. No issues with 3 pointers either!

Assetto is the current rFactor, the most popular modding platform with endless amounts of content. rF2 feels better, but there's less stuff and it's a bit less casual. If you want to drive in multiplayer and genuinely feel the thrill, i think iRacing is the way to go, it's the biggest tryhard sim around and people are really doing their best to not crash into you most of the time, as enough crashes will send you into low safety ranking and then you're matched with fellow imbeciles of similar racing approach. Dirt Rally 2 is amazing if you didn't play through DR1/2 content yet, WRC is properly, properly great if you did despite EA bullshit >>489720858 mentions, WRC has tons of new high-quality stages and i'd say it feels better to drive compared to previous games, at least most of the time, so all in all, it's very much worth the recommendation. WRC is fine if you turn off AA and have a good GPU.
Gameplay wise it feels a lot different than DR2; DR2 feels like you're driving on ice skates the whole time but this feels like the wheels actually contact the ground and grip it.

It has those rendering bullshit issues (which can be worked around to some degree, you can also do 150% scaling and simply turn AA off, it's a bit jagged but not to a sin, and then you can even set default, accept nearsightedness, and move on), but it also has plenty to make up for it. Sound design is levels above anything you've ever seen in sim racing, all of those suspension squeaks and gearbox whines feel way more raw and grand than any other game around. There are hotlap events with online leaderboard that change all the time, similar to GT7 events, I love those things a lot. Handling feels just right, too. I'd give it a shot, even if only to experience audio, especially since game goes 70% off on steam all the time.

There are well established and highly regular adaptations to do sign language in VR. I began learning ASL irl years ago, and when I bought VR it was to do more sign language, and I adjusted to understanding and using the VR adaptations very quickly. Any normal VR controllers can do it with the VR adaptations. Except maybe the Vive wand, it technically can work and some people get super proficient with it, but it's terrible on average for how inconvenient it is laid out.
