The thing it's supposed to do is use VRCX to swap the YTDLP it uses on runtime, since VRChat's YTDLP is stripped down and can't do shit. It swaps it with the full one that can copy your cookies from your browser.

The reason for this is apparently Google run up some new anti-jeet/adblock shit and its fucking with VRC, but VRC is too stupid to fix it.

Have you found that VR ruined any game genres for flatscreen play? Personally, I am quite disinterested in playing flatscreen FPS and racing games. Games like Blade & Sorcery have also kind of spoiled my enjoyment of melee first-person games like Skyrim. Flatscreen horror games as well. The first time I played Phasmo in VR, my legs were shaking after. I also just got my 1st VR headset and it was one of my first experiences.

The photos we are looking for should be KINO or CINEMA. Contrasted with the Vault which focused on "Memories". This one aims to focus on the ARTISTRY.
Please use this as an opportunity to pick up VR photography as a hobby or aim for perfection as you hone your craft and share in a gallery of fellow photography enthusiasts in VIRTUAL REALITY.

You can send in whatever you want. It'll be compiled into a segment of your own wall as the photographer.

Making the absolute worst avatar that still shows on default safety settings probably involves stuffing the animator with lots of AnyState transitions, and having the animations themselves toggle on and off physbones and constraints and mess with their settings, plus making sure all your skinned mesh bones have weights for every single vertex/bone. The animator evaluation itself will be expensive, fuzzing the physbone and constraint params will likely break a lot of the cache coherence/force more expensive recalculation, plus the skinning. If the standard shader isn't blocked by default (I don't think it is) make sure to add a heightmap for raymarched parallax mapping. And toggle the material settings in the shaders too, which might force switching between different compiled variants.

If your shaders aren't blocked, then it is pretty trivial to crank up tesselation and bomb the gpu. It's more interesting to think about what you can stick in an "excellent" avatar though.

I'm making a shitty Dawn-of-War-1-ish RTS and want to add VR because why not, but I'm not sure what to do with the aerial camera view.
Letting it "as is", with the neutral head angle pointing toward the ground, is a bit disorienting.
Setting it "flat", with the neutral head angle pointing toward the horizon, feel more natural but will force the player to constantly look down.

Which one would be the least-worse for a long play session?

I've only played 1 or 2 VR rts and I feel like they both had the second "flat" option with the camera facing the horizon.
The first option, with camera facing downwards sounds like the default starmap controls in Elite dangerous. First time I loaded the starmap it felt like i was going to fall out of my chair, and that was with a grid as the background, so being at a bird's eye view and staring straight down at the RTS units and ground is probably pretty disorienting, especially if you're some kind of motion-sicklet

being able to zoom in and out quickly might be important for VR comfort, so that you're only looking "down" when you're zoomed out and kind of looking forwards when zoomed in?

A random find from Zucc store, Shogun's Empire. There's also flat version on Steam. It's relatively simple TBS with some economic and diplomatic elements thrown in for good measure. Japanese VA obviously done by no more than 2 guys.

VR doesn't really bring anything new to this, it plays like typical flat TBS but it's pretty fun, oldschool hex combat with rock-paper-scissors kind of unit balancing. Has 15 clans to play, each is its own mini campaign and there's freeplay mode.

Nothing new or grounbreaking but decent amount of fun for 10 bucks if you like strategy games.

Not sure what the right way to ask this is but what are some games that feel the most professionally made? I feel like a huge chunk of the VR library has Gary's Mod vibes like its an unfinished proof of concept or amatuer project, or just has a whole lot of clashing aesthetics because its a sandbox thing. I just got PC VR after years of having PSVR and while the tech is miles better, I think I got spoiled by the high production values from Sony pumping money into stuff

Games that have had the kind of vibes I'm looking for:

Astro Bot Rescue Mission

Moss is my gold standard atm, felt like a game that benefitted from the VR but wasn't just a tech demo to see what they could do with it. It's gorgeous and aesthetically coherent, too.

Demeo has an adjustable pitch axis, which does help when you get tired of staring down at a gameboard for several hours. You could also check out videos of Brass Tactics, an early VR RTS from the age of empires designer (it's essentially unplayable now though, an oculus pc exclusive). It doesn't do tilt iirc, but it did have nice satisfying RTS controls in general. you could slide across the game board, and control units from your hands.
