henlo
i made a halloween avatar of a yandere nurse and i wanted to make it public for u guys so here you go
it has a stabbing/yandere system i worked on that makes you progressively bloodier/crazier as you stab people more, plus way too many prefabs because i like prefabs and gimmicks
also an ft version with only a few things removed from the original to make space

if theres any issues let me know and i'll try and fix it, i'll be releasing the unity files down the line as i fix stuff up and figure out how to easily package it so it doesnt break people's projects + instructions

is vr compatible with glasses or do I need to get lenses?

>>543523565
I use my glasses with it

>>543523718
does it depend on a headset? Im planning to get quest3

>>543523718
does it sometimes hurt when you wear headphones for too long, and does VR headset have the same problem?

Playing this on a HOTAS is brutal. Stick aiming is fine but it's the fine movement that's impossible. I think I'm gonna cave in and start using WASD like a pleb.

>beat level
>secrets: 2/18
;_____;

>>543523926
I've only used a quest 2 and quest pro, and my glasses fit inside both.

>>543524253
good to know, btw is q2 already outdated and quest3 is a worth the money? Im not rich and not even sure if I will like vr enough, just want to try it out

>>543523926
quest 3 has a pretty large gasket that is also adjustable. Your glasses will likely fit

>>543525018
Q2 is outdated, but it's not bad. If you can get one cheap, it's probably the best way to jump into VR to see if you would like to spend more money on it later.

>>543523926
You can use glasses on a q3 in theory, at least with the default facial interface.
I got really scared of scratching the lenses though, so I stopped using my glasses in vr not too long after getting my headset.

>>543525018
Quest 3 has significantly improved computing power and lenses over the quest 2. If you plan to play games on the device itself and not just PCVR it's worth the money. Used quest 2 might be pretty cheap if you don't mind wiping off the stank from the previous owner, so if you just want to try and see if you'll like it first, it's a good way to go as well.

The quest 3s is a quest 3 chipset with all the rest being quest 2 parts, more or less. I wouldn't recommend it unless you can't afford the extra 200 bucks for a quest 3.

>>543525018
used quest 2 should be sub 150 dolleuros and 100% worth it if you don't know if you're gonna like vr
once you put a headset on you'll know how much you're willing to spend on a headset afterwards

Hi hello there will be volleyball in like 1 hour and 45 minutes or so at 21:00 CEST

>>543523565
Yes and yes. Glasses do fit in most headsets, but it's HIGHLY HIGHLY Recommended to instead buy inserts. What you should do is try VR, get over the motion sickness, then see if you like it. Then get inserts ASAP because the longer you wear glasses the higher risk of scratching the inside of your lenses and that SUCKS ASS.

I have 3070 which is not much for the modern games, would it handle vchat and vr games with q2 better than q3 own chipset? also from what I read q3 is more ergonomic and adjustable?

>>543527523
Get a Q3 if you are okay spending a little bit more It's a way better headset overall and if you're worried about the pixel thing you can just render at a reduced resolution. The increased screen pixel density will look better even then.

>>543509417
Isn't working great for me.

>>543527839
it deals less damage the closer the enemy?

>>543527839
>it is bolt action day! AWP can oneshot armoured opponents but only to the upper chest beyond 10 meters
My immediate reacton was "that's gonna be fucking crazy" but considering every weapon is buffed and the general ttk is less compared to vanilla (minus the metaguns which are the same) it might be just enough for it to be viable
also you probably meant within 10 meters, right?

>>543531363
yes actually
Its two main flaws are unreliable tracking if you get unlucky (most work fine) and no replaceable cable

>>543525730
If we are doing volleyball again today count me in.

>>543527523
your 3070 will handle games much better than the onboard compute on a quest. A quest is similar to a newer phone in terms of graphical ability. It's enough for highly optimized games but the average Very Poor VRC avatar will not even work. It'd be nice if proper optimization was more common, but VRC's optimization targets for th quest are still based around the quest 2 and are so constrained people don't even want to try.

Pico 4 Ultra is literally more expensive in majority of EU and Asia and literally unavailable everywhere else. If you're buying refurbs or second hand then you have to go by what's available to begin with.

>>543533735
I just checked, both p4u and q3 are at the same price on amazon for me; but for quest 3 you are required to get an elite-like strap if you don't want the headset to be uncomfortable (but both need a replacement face gasket).

Hello fellow /vrg/ins,

That time of the year is nearly upon us once again.
In around one month from now, the /vg/ League 25 divegrass tournament will take place, hosted by /vrg/!

First it's time to decide who to add and remove from our roster. Please suggest any changes you'd like to see in a reply to this post.
Pic related is our tournament winning roster we had earlier this Summer.
I don't think Bonelab is being hosted anymore, so perhaps switching that player out with a Forefront player instead?

Also, as reigning champions we have the honor of hosting. Most things are handled by the organizers, but we get to pick referees. Do you have any fun ideas as to who the /vrg/ related refs should be?

And finally, if you have no thoughts and your head is empty but you would still like to see the /vrg/ futbol team play in the /vrg/ hosted futbol tournament, please give this post a (You). Thanks!

>>543534863

I've used my Quest 3 with a pair of glasses that fitted. It was a bit of a hassle to get them inside every time, and the glasses lenses got scratched by the plastic. So I went for some VR Optician inserts (two day shipping to EU) and it's more practical. I liked the magnetic ones more but they didn't ship quickly in EU and I don't care much about it because I rarely use contacts.

I have mine for a while, I like it a lot. Raged a lot about smearing when bright initially, but kinda coped it out of my awarness through time. I still like it, but I also beta tested the bigmeme 1 on its launch and liked it, so I knew generally what I was getting. That's essentially the cope for the beyond; It's expensive and unreliable but if you have a backup headset, you can reroll whenever and their support has quick turnaround. And hope you get the lucky with the next piece of hardware.

An entire 2/3 of the screen at any given time is ads. The front page is just NFL ads, political ads, and streamer promotions. May be slightly different for non-Americans but I doubt it.

Then there's the topics you raise with sponsored links filling video descriptions and in-video sponsorships dominating the platform.

I don't think the Deckard will have face tracking so it doesn't make sense for me. Thought the Galaxy XR would be the one headset to rule them all, but not having interchangeable batteries it's dead on arrival for gaming.

>>543585760
>but not having interchangeable batteries it's dead on arrival for gaming.

How is this any different from wanting a battery pack in your pocket with a Quest beyond now you're running it to the puck instead of the headset directly?

>>543585760
Is there anything on the horizon with face tracking? With the BSB2E flopping on arrival I doubt it'll be a priority for anyone.

>>543586764
It doesn't support USB c charging and doesn't have an internal battery to maintain charge while you swap them, meaning you will shut it down everytime you change to a new pack.

>>543588730
Well, that's exceptionally poorly designed. Who the fuck is gonna want to deal with having to reboot every 2 to 3 hours even if you're just doing productivity stuff? Who exactly is this supposed to be marketed towards that wouldn't despise that?

>>543589148
It's most likely based on Meta's research that the average VR user spends about 30 minutes a day with the headset on. Power users like us are a niche of a niche

>>543589363
I feel like that statistic is massively misleading, but also they're clearly not targeting Quest kiddies with a 1.5k USD headset that they've spent forever showing off XR stuff during the presentation. It's clearly intended as an enthusiast product, and even amongst the people who don't spend an entire evening in VRC, a two hour game session isn't at all unreasonable.

>>543589778
Now it's on Lenovo or Asus to deliver on what meta didn't, and quite honestly I don't think it's possible.

>>543588730
>>543589148
This is retarded, but apparently you can plug a power pack to the battery itself, not sure if it's capable of maintaining the charge or how long would it increase the battery itself, but they're is an USB c port on the battery itself...

Walkabout mentioned!

>>543591245
>It's powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2, a higher-end variant of the chipset in Quest 3 and Quest 3S which has already shipped in Play For Dream MR, paired with 16GB of RAM. And it requires an included tethered battery, which Samsung says provides 2 hours of general use or 2.5 hours of video watching. Alternatively, you can connect USB-C mains power to the battery for indefinite use.

So sounds like you can run it forever with an external battery pack.

Any guides to making VRC assets? Especially when it comes to Materials/Shaders. I do all my stuff in Blender and it adapts decently well to UE (for pre-recorded mocap stuff) but obviously there's a lot of stuff that UE/Blender do that Unity doesn't

>VR Hardware
where is it Gabe

>>543598432
Most assets bundle with a shader and material with said shader already configured for use. I think liltoon is one of the more popular free options. I'd take that shader into unity and see how your current workflow applies. You are able to do PBR stuff with metallic and smoothness maps, AO etc in Unity the same as you could in UE afaik.

>>543596406
Is volleyball a sportsball?

>>543561165

>>543599016

or are there restrictions?

>>543600643
you can write your own shaders in unity to mine bitcoins if that's what you are asking. the unity default shader is a bit shit. most people use the popular and very customizable poyomi or liltoon shaders

>spent way too long windowshopping for avatar assets again

>>543508713
grotesque but has some truth to it

>>543561165
If the writes run out it usually dies gracefully and locks into Read only mode. Average use on an SSD means the writes last like 20 years even if you use it heavily, but no SSD has lasted this long. The controllers are a load of shit and will just die on you instantly with no warning.

>>543559421

If the data is VERY valuable you could try replacing the controller on the SSD with a known good one. This will require decent desoldering equipment and is best attempted by a serious electronics repair place.

>>543610407
I found that game so tedious once armored enemies started spawning in every map

>>543612635
You just switch from FMJ to AP.
For my G17 i keep the leftmost mag as AP, when i need to swap out (like right after that webm), i just reload the new mag.
If i know im going to be spending a lot of time in factory or other armoured places, i'll take more AP and keep it loaded first instead of FMJ.

>>543609760
I thought that was your nose for the first half of the video

>>543613010
Basically this. It turns into a money sink where you better have AP or rifle rounds. Usually I ended up taking overpressure pistol rounds and AP rifle rounds. Going through the factory to unlock the sec level needed to buy these though is a pain since you have to kill armored enemies without the proper tools to do it. Best you get is FMJ rifle and AP pistol. There's some free rifles kicking about on the map and they're good to grab and just throw some ammo into.

>>543613010
I was too poor to buy premium ammo without grinding trivial missions and too low rank to buy decent weapons. It'd have been better if the armored enemies had weak spots.

The other problem I had was the quantity of enemies. It was taking way too much ammo to fight everything... is the intended gameplay to simply run past enemies?

>>543613670
I've never stealthed, see 2nd webm for demonstration.
My spending in ITR is a rollercoaster. I save up like 4k then blow it all on ammo, health, armour repair and etc. This still leaves me with a net positive as im in a better position with more money than i was before.
I grab a lot of stuff from the radius, i get like 2 artifacts to sell per "hunt for this artifact" mission, bumping the pay up way more.

Grenades can be good indoors, last thread should have a webm of that. And laser sights are a must have to not waste ammo and be accurate.

>>543613670
Heavily defended areas rarely are worth the trouble. I only recommend going to them to do story objectives since then the payout is worth it. What you do for money is pay attention to the more lightly defended areas of village and factory. There's a whole bunch of artifact fields so every wave you zip around and hit up the artifact fields with some artifact collecting side missions in your belt.
You can go super eco and clear the first area's fields with just a makarov if you have to if you need to bootstrap some equipment back, but after getting a M9 or something you can do village once you ignore the old building full of SMG guys. Or not, there's often a mission in the basement and it's not THAT hard to clear out so long as you get close first, and just hit them with the M9. Bootstrapping from the village fields you hit up the factory. There's the electrical thing in the middle and the quarry with enough artifact fields to make a neat profit with little defense. There's actually a way to slide up and down the quarry right from the little admin building next to the spawn point from the village. You can slide down there, clear the quarry with a little AP (the checkpoint at the back can be avoided it's not worth it) and pull it out for profit. There's also from the village a path to the uh.. the place with the armored APC. If you go HARD LEFT after the entrance, there's a little substation up the hill that can spawn an undefended silver chest about 50% of the time. It's free high level loot although mostly I find mp5s (which is actually one of the best weapons in the game with overpressure ammo)

Observe my loot goblin behavior from a couple days ago.
My ass was heavy and my hands were disappointed in taking on more weight.

>>543613245
>>543613670
Anon you can put cheap ammo in your pistol and expensive AP ammo in your primary gun. Also side missions are for making money and high priority missions are for spending it so don't worry about blowing fuckloads of money on high quality stuff for that. Using a shotgun early tide is a great way to clear an area quickly essentially for free too. There's limitless shotgun ammo around and slugs are AP.

>>543614634
My loadout would depend on where I was going. For story missions I prep for the worst; high level ammo on everything. If I'm just looting then I'm a lot more economical and just use the cheapest ammo I could get away with. Pistols kinda suck against armored enemies even with AP ammo so just having a trash-shooter FMJ M9 goes a long way to being cost efficient. Plus swapping it out with a GSH to burn some 9x18 that somehow piles up. Shotguns are good too against anything not ranged.

>>543614786
You'll be surprised on the range on a longer barrel shotgun. The hunting shotgun especially has a very tight spread. I used the pump shotgun that you can find in the factory map for ages, only really swapping it out when I had to do a high priority mission.

>>543542963
Soon! Woooooo

>>543614969
I never really used a pump action I always just used the sawn-offs in the low tier areas just for using up ammo. Never knew there was a free one.

Samsung headset seems quite good steamvr headset, albeit pricy. Supposedly there is already a VirtualDesktop version for it which forwards eye and facetracking to steamvr. And most likely steamvrlink.apk included in the steamvr forlder will also just work.
Spatial computing side also seems fine, all android apps work, 4k screens will have good text quality.
What can ask more except lower price? Maybe a small onboard battery for hotswap and dp input? But otherwise it seems like Samsung is now THE vrchat machine, the qpro replacer.

I was playing Bonelab and fucking around by myself in some levels, spawning stuff in and I got to thinking. It'd be really cool if it had multiplayer that allowed one to act as GM and spawn in weapons and items and enemies while invisible while another player goes around as the player in a sort of tabletop roleplay scenario. The Game Master could change avatars and spawn in as NPC's to talk to the player on their adventure or even spawn in as enemies and bosses.

But then I got to thinking why doesn't a game like that exist? That seems like it'd be VR gold.

>>543617603
You can now finally play native* gta san andreas in vr using samsung galaxy xr!
*In a flat frame, by buying mobile san andreas port on play store

>>543600643
As far as I know, if it works in Unity it'll work in game, though there might be issues with VR rendering that are just inherent to it being in VR. Some crazy people have done a RISC-V emulator or LLM translator in a shader in VRchat (though IDK if they still work). If you want to modify an existing shader or write your own and bundle it and the material with your asset that's also perfectly fine. Most people drag and drop a prefab asset into their scene with the material applied.

It reminds me of gmod in a lot of ways. It feels like the developers just wanted to make a skeleton for a game and let players fill in the gaps. But desu the best mod so far I've played is the Boneworks port on Quest.

>>543641058
this is for >>543638807

>>543641174
Boneworks had a fantastic design philosophy that Lab completely dropped the ball on, no longer do you have large expansive levels you can complete in your own way, only hallways with a single way to progress. I get that they wanted to reduce the load on quest players, but why is an inferior game more expensive then the original?

>>543641479
The Boneworks port proves they could have done more. I personally think in the developers mind Bonelab was never meant to be a full experience but more like a tool that modders can use to do the heavy lifting. I get it, I love the idea of giving modders something to play with and go nuts but I would much rather have an actual full game. The bones of the game are perfect to make a real game with but they don't. I dunno. Maybe their next game will be an actual game built off of Bonelab. Maybe it's meant to be a stepping stone.

>>543641790
>I love the idea of giving modders something to play with and go nuts
Wish Bonelab was that, instead we've got an SDK where you can't even make a firearm without working with decompiled internal game scripts. It's honestly impressive that Bonelab modding scene is as big as it is, given how little they've provided for modders.

IMO it was not a good idea to do that. The game is too obscure and the tools too limited to create interesting mods. >Boneworks had a fantastic design philosophy
Boneworks is a janky physics tech demo with an admittedly mediocre shooter bolted onto it. The level design never really feels well put together, and you don't really have a lot of freedom to handle stuff outside of just breaking the game.
I still liked it, but mostly just as a proof of concept for what you could do in VR. Was looking forward to them working some of the jank out for a sequel, but instead they fixed none of it and put even less work into the level design.
>>543641790
>Bonelab was never meant to be a full experience but more like a tool that modders can use to do the heavy lifting
This is 100% the case, the game ending all but explicitly tells you that. Makes no sense that it somehow didn't even release with an SDK (and took over a year to get it) and released as a full price game despite barely having any content.

Bonelab could have been a level pack for bone works. It didnt add anything mechanically. The boneworks modding was already booming even without shitty sdk. They made empty, unfinished, levels, spent years rewriting "narrow" engine and for what?

The idea of different avatars to handle different situations was interesting, and I have no idea how much work it was behind the scenes, but I agree that it didn't really add much mechanically.
I assume there were more changes done with modding in mind as a long term goal too, but as a player, it doesn't really feel like they made a new game that's actually worth buying.

It added a lot, it's just that it didn't change much for vanilla game because vanilla game was literally a bunch of demo avatars for each respective avatar. In MP boner lobbies, we had tons of fun switching between avatars for various specific purposes.

My favorite example of that was this one time one anon decided to be a huge default fat fuck avatar, and then we had to push him through vents because he wouldn't be able to crawl through them on his own. Good times.

>>543648159
I think Boneworks leveldesign is just very autistic. It delivers lots of beautiful concepts (a certain degree of freedom to beat levels, actually distinct style and feel between areas this one is super impressive because they've still kept the general concept of closed simulation rooms everywhere, often skippable puzzle if you're smart enough to work around them) but falls short on the fundamentals. There's three enemy types with zero gameplay meat in them, shooting holographic enemy is just the matter of aiming in the general area and pulling the trigger, wrestling sameface zombies gets old after 50 of them. Combat areas are rarely designed with combat in mind, and usually it's just yet another sandbox room with a couple of cover bits scattered around. They've set up a wonderful setup for a VR title, got brilliant jank fun engine, great atmosphere, simple but involving backstory/story, 10/10 music, and then they just kinda forgot to slap it together into an actual game.

The best gameplay area of Boneworks is the shooting range, rest is all up to you making your own fun by doing dumb stuff. I love the game regardless, but gameplay side of leveldesign doesn't feel like the strongest part of it.

Some idiots insist that games with actual level design and content longer than a few hours have to be AAA slop. Meanwhile other low budget Half Life clones like Abiotic Factor and a million custom maps/mods for HL1, HL2, Sven Co-op, etc. are all great on the level design and content front. You're probably right though

>>543669984

look here
>>543669913
>Avatar in Galaxy XR use advanced first-person perception to accurately track your facial expression
The is the only mention of something that would be considered "facial tracking". It is also a very round about way of saying "facial tracking'
Also, note how they say that not the headset does it, but somehow the avatar.

My guess is that (since AI is everywhere in that headset) they use the information of the eye tracking and estimate what the rest of the face is doing.
I will fully believe that they have facial tracking once they say "we have facial tracking". Because usually this is a huge bulletpoint for sales. Why should they not list such a feature on their sales page like any other headset that featured facial tracking?

I guess this is why they said it the way they did. So they can SOUND like they have it, while they don't have it and still can be like "Oh haha we never claimed we did have facial tracking"

I don't. Everything I heard (even considering that they COULD have facial tracking) is something I don't like.
>Controllers seem not self tracking, so line of sight is required
>no mention about on or offline usage. seeing the highly integrated gemini and google services, I am afraid you need to be online or need an account similar to meta
>no real mention of PCVR
>audio seems to be similar if not identically to Quest Pro (shit)
>we never really heard the real mic quality
>1800 dollaridoos for a headset without controllers
>90 hz (up to, upon service request), makes it seems like 72 hz is the default max and you need some service to unlock 90
>controllers are 250 bucks, only available separately

With so many bad things, it could very well have facial tracking. I don't think I give much of a fuck about it

You arent the consumer. The consumer isnt buying headsets, so they dont own headsets, so they dont know what they want.

A vr enthusiast can ask for things that might turn the market around, like lower weight, or just more vrchat shit so vr can stay on life support. Something being repeated from this small population doesnt make it a good idea.

>>543744045
You REALLY think the steam frame is coming out TOMORROW? That's not two weeks away.

I don't have a gaymen pc or anything so I bought a Quest 2 to play standalone vr like a year ago and every time I go into VRChat and go into a public world I get major anxiety. I spend a lot of time alone just dicking around mostly. My headset gets about 2 hours of battery life, about 3 hours with the battery pack attached.

Is there a 4chan group I can sorta vibe in without worrying about randos and children? I take a while to warm up because I'm a bit of a sperg. I just want to have an anchor instead of floating around by myself.

>>543744603
We don't use VRC groups for the most part. Getting tagged as 'from 4chan' is something only retards do. There are however regular instances posted in the thread you can join. Look out for vollyball, mahjong, tea time, etc etc, even if you aren't interested in the activity they're a way to say hello to anons and get into the network of friends that are from here.

>>543744736
I mean, it doesn't have to be a big billboard advertising where I'm from, I just would rather be around the hometown homies, ya know? My friends list is basically empty so it makes me look weird to the VRC population when I try to be social.

>>543744878
That's what the friends network from thread events are for. The homies are right here bro.

>>543744603
>>543744878
Join any of the instances we post here or go to the regular weekend instances (warning, loud drunks ahead). Also I think you'll need some sort of PC connection with the Quest, be it wired or wireless, but I'm not too sure on that.

>>543744603
We are 4chan group you can sorta vibe in without worry, but we rarely do quest compatible stuff. Though you should be able to join certain worlds, you probably wouldn't be able to see most of the avatars though.

Get a PC for an easy fix, you can probably score some older used performance-oriented computer for really small money. Full used computers tend to be sold for way cheaper than the sum of their individual components. I can think of many anons who rage about their really low spec PCs around VRG instances - and yet, they're still here with their 8gb GPUs from over 5 years ago, so it seems like it's doable. And then you'll have a computer as a bonus, holy shit, how is it even humanly possible to not have one

Its not gonna be easy to join us on stamdalone only though. Nobody here cares about quest versions of their avatars. Nobody checks quest compatability when dropping a portal.

>>543744603
Yes! We are the 4chan group known as /vrg/

What time do you usually play? I can login now with you if you want. I'm just working on some unity maps

I get on sporadically, I don't have a set schedule for anything. Atm I'm cooking breakfast right now and making coffee. I don't want to be the center of attention or anything, I just want to slip into the background for a while. My social anxiety is pretty bad, I'm trying to work on it.

I wonder if I should try drinking, I haven't had alcohol in like a year, I'd start vibing after like two drinks.

>>543742872
please god, my index gasket's foam is uniroically BURSTING from its cloth. I just ordered new ones but the ones from Steam, but the ones I had from vrcover are out of stock. Rough. Grim, even. One of these days the bottom strap is going to rip and i will have a full blown mental breakdown. please god i just want to not be in a constant state of anxiety whenever I wear my index thinking it's just going to fall from my face one day. I won't be able to handle it.

>>543745941
Check for cracks on the strap behind the earpieces anon

>>543745828
Don't feel pressured to drink, even if half the people you end up meeting ends up asking you what you're drinking or saying cheers. If you want to slip into the background or just chill out, join any of the board game instances (mahjong, mtg, chess, etc) where you don't really need to be out and active. Anime/movie/watching instances are also good for this too. Work on getting a minimal PC to link the Quest cause like stated, it's gonna be hard to stay around us as a standalone Quest user. Good luck.

>>543746238
my left side actually gave out about a year ago. i just live with the pain.

>>543746258
My brother said he might be getting a new PC and he'd give me his old one but I dunno if it's gonna happen or not. Fingers crossed, I guess.

>>543746292
right side not left, lett is still fine. for now. :'(

>>543746292
If you can find a way to hold the pieces down temporarily, JB weld can be used to fix it back in place. I managed to fix mine before they completely broke by dremelling out the cracks and replacing it with jb weld and a little bit thicker layer of jb to reinforce the area. Has kept my index alive for years now.
Another thing that happened was that the top strap velcro came off. I epoxy resin'd that back into place and it's fine now.
nother failure point is the bar that holds the top strap in place. That can be fixed by just epoxying down another bar made from a coathanger wire or something

>>543745828
In my area, I can see used PCs that I'd consider barely enough for VR within 300eur range. Are you sure you're too broke for that?

The way I see it
>most of the time, you won't be able to join because most of the worlds we use are PC only
>this couple times you will be able to join, you won't see anyone's avatars
>there's a nonzero probability you'll get kicked at random for same reasons (You) hate your VRC experience. despite everything, we're still somewhat defensive about randos - and so if someone would notice you're quest only, he could assume you're underage without even asking you. it would be a sad situation given that you're posting here

also, you need a PC because half of vrchat playtime happens in blender/unity, but you're not yet ready to realize that so take your time

>>543746416
In the meantime, if you want to "invest" some more time into this game, you can try to make your very own OC donut steel anime girl avatar. But I dunno how long you've played this already or what kind of avatar you use so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

>>543746705
I've played quote a bit. I can never find an avatar I like so I mostly use pic related. I don't particularly like flashy avatars, it's a bit hard to find casual wear free anime girl avatars sometimes.

Like I said, I like to blend into the background a bit.

>>543744603
Don't join social instances like the drinking events. Your best bet is to join an activity instance where you are forced to do something, because you will have more fun and silence is more acceptable. Stuff like dancing, volleyball, mahjong / board games, drawing and maybe exploration/photo instances.

>>543747048
Go to https://boothplorer.com/avatars and just take a look and see what base you like. Best and easiest things to edit to make them more unique (if you care) are the hair, outfit (if your base is at least semi-popular), and colors. Assets are really easy to get for free as well so really don't pay attention to any price and just look at what sticks out to you.

>>543748208
nah, to each their own. some people fly around and make friends, some stick to a small handful of people they actually clicked with and then rely on events/activities to have fun together, neither side is wrong

>>543748208
i mean probably?
it depends what you're trying to do
if you're new to any community usually the best thing to do is take the "shotgun" approach and add as many people as you can initially, then over time you'll gravitate towards who you vibe with most
but there's no "step-by-step" guide because its a social thing, not troubleshooting a machine

>>543748345
if that works for you then cool!

>>543749331
>"shotgun" approach

>>543749521
Well yeah anon, it's silly to add someone who doesn't even know -who- you are. I wouldn't accept a request from someone I've never even been in the vicinity of before.
I guess I worded it poorly in the original post. Really what I mean is to just be trigger-happy on adding people when you're new to a community.

Personally I treat my friends list as a general network, and then I add people to my favourites when I consider them familiar faces. I wager a lot of people do something similar.

If you can't it looks like you have a cable running from your headset into your (most likely) pocket, where you have to have your OTHER battery that charges the headsets battery... what a dumb concept.

>>543765281
It doesn't and it's such retarded decision. Even HTC standalones have tiny internal battery to facilitate hotswapping the main battery.
