I can't catch some slides with wifi. I think the overall latency is near my threshold and 20/30 ms make a difference. I rarely get under 8 ms of transport with a dedicated 6e router.

Is the Frame even going to be comfortable with the battery pack on the back? If you lean your head onto a headrest or god forbid, lay down, the battery on the back will just be in the way, just like the knob on the back with the Index.
I guess the design is modular so third party headstraps will likely be made, but man, that "sub Index price" sure is looking like a fariytale if you want anything extra.

I deleted that post because I reread and thought that I had misunderstood in that anon was saying he compared the experience to using wired pcvr. I have been massively thrown off by small latency issues caused internally in my pc even with wired pcvr in rhythm games. More latency added on would make it unplayable in high level songs. Also compression should be a lot worse at high motion. I've never tried standalone but I imagine the clarity getting pretty rough in high speed levels/songs

I think like used dell/hp business desktops are pretty competitive on mobo/cpu/ram (and psu/case) for the price. And then you can slot in whatever gpu you can afford. I'm not very familiar with the used enterprise market but most of the options I'm finding are more than I'm really comfortable paying all at once for pre-owned, pre-made, restricted-dimension cases. Turn the Vstock offset all the way up so your right hand doesn't affect it anymore. It will still feel like moving through molasses due to the aim smoothing though.

I like the recon zipline and spawn beacon gameplay but the bolt action is a waste of time. People are rarely low enough health for a bodyshot to kill and headshots have the bizarre chance to do no damage. Worst of all the guy you killed will just get revived seconds later anyway so your sniper kills have little consequence. Better to just rat and shoot people in the side or back with a silenced pistol.

FWIW you can still part out used business/enterprise desktops to a degree. The mobos and PSUs are sometimes not standard ATX (micro or otherwise) but the ram/cpus are still socketed. This is definitely a different environment than back in covid days when desktop GPUs were x3-4 the MSRP but laptop prices stayed the same. Was massive value back then, but now? Not sure, I'm an avid laptop follower but after I made my purchase my interest dropped significantly. What is your price range tho? Recon is almost unplayable until you get the Deagle, and then you get the 50 cal which is an AWP you don't have to bolt. The way to level up recon is to just play Conquest, throw down your beacon somewhere useful and try to just farm points in the tank/attack chopper while you can, and then rush people with the pistol+nade when they're respawning if you have nothing better to do.

I'm trying to think what VR dedicated games would make VR mainstream, so companies would invest more money, which meams the technology can develop faster. Sim games would be the obvious choice if you didn't need expensive peripherals. An MMO I guess, but really the combat will be so ass and crafting would be a boring chore. Those suspension squeaks, the way it loses and regains grip as heard by RPM variation, this grip loss on the uphill hairpin that sounds pretty much exactly as you'd expect in this scenario, the overall handling and feel that puts it leagues above DR/WRC. Holy shit, I shouldn't have any hopes because bad things will happen again if I do, but this game is delicious even just with this crappy ass VR injector plugin. It also has global leaderboards for tutorial events (stage/car showcase), so there's already some goal to pursue. It seems like ACR is actively pursuing quality as opposed to ACE, so I really, really hope they'll release VR support soon that follows the overall quality of the game itself. Can barely remember last time I was so childishly hyped for a new release, but this one just nails it so far.

Once you get the .50 cal, sniping actually becomes workable since it's semi-auto and a two tap to the body and such massive damage that you can easily finish people who've taken even a little damage from your teams automatic rifles. The trick is you need to be in a weird position where you can pop them when they take cover and sit fucking still. The best place to do this is to zip up to the bridge on the first Rush point on the ice map and then sit on the edge of the support beams that run along the bridges sides. You can even throw a beacon there and if you jump to the next support section, I swear people are blind and just don't kill the beacon even if they realize you're up there. Climbing up the frame of the crane behind A on the big harvester on the red rock Rush map's third points is also a great place to be since you can see almost the entire map. I don't play Conquest to know cheeky spots on those maps, but I'd imagine the non-linearity of the fight means that it's also much easier to happen naturally. Deagle is still your main weapon, but the .50 is actually not bad once you get used to it, and even moreso once you can put a lower power optic on it since the high mags are actively detrimental at the ranges the fights take place at.

I disagree about beacons getting nerfed, though, because of ability to spawn on your teammates even if they're in combat. The beacon is great if you're playing with mouthbreathers and can't count on them, but if you're playing with competent people, the cost of having a recon is pretty hefty when you just need to make sure you don't get squad wiped. Zips are great, but they're also very finnicky to avoid catching your feet and getting stopped short.

They need to not artificially limit fire rates of semi-autos if they want DMRs to be viable or significantly bump the damage. The Draganov is fucking garbage with 3 shots to kill unless you hit the head, people with automatic weapons will just spray their entire mag into where you're set up while you try to slowly tap them down, and normally win the DPS race even at long ass ranges. What recon actually needs is shotguns which provides you a reward and incentive to play for flanks and other weird positions where you can get close to the enemy without enabling them to fight super well at mid range which is the role of everyone else. The actual class that needs a buff is the Assault, there's zero reason to be one ever since Medic gets most of the good guns unless you're really big on LMGs and then you get heals and rezes if you're fighting infantry, or Engineer if you actually need to kill vehicles instead of trying to meme C4 them. The only thing Assault can do is quickly level buildings, but you have to be humping them and C4 throwing doesn't work like grenades for some reason.

Explosives spam doesn't seem like something they'd want, since RPG radius is fucking tiny and grenades are already a major threat with how small the chokes are on most maps. Valve dicksucking has convinced everyone that this thing is worth more than it is.

The autotable prefab we play pretty much just handles all of it for you, really the biggest difference is the addition of the riichi stick so you can't just ron or tsumo without a valid yaku, like when you open your hand for example.
