Yeah I tend to make a low poly, then depending on what's needed for a good base mesh I'll take that and tweak it a bit, add a multires and sculpt on it, then take another pass at the low poly once the sculpt is done to capture some extra details in the silhouette. Once both are done I take 'em into Substance usually, add materials and smaller details (for example in this case I plan to do all the piping and seam work in substance rather than on the sculpt).
If I'm doing hand painted I just use Ucupaint in Blender since I like that workflow better for hand painting.

every kind of tracking has its positives and negatives, the tracking quality of these is better than slimes by far and certainly comparable to lighthouse. The downsides are metallic interference and (at least for now) a bit more jitter. Compare that to lighthouse which also has some jitter and can be occluded I'd say it's fairly equal all things considered. Depends on your use case and what you prioritize.

The community already has solutions that aren't hackjobs, and there's also some third party solutions like the VRPanda strap I'm currently waiting to arrive from China which should help significantly. I'm not saying the headset is the best thing on the market ever and I wouldn't recommend it to someone who doesn't care about facetracking, but I do think that there is little reason to spend on a Qpro when the XR does everything the Qpro does significantly better at a significant but not insane price jump.

so im having troubles with VRchat randomly crashing when its trying to access data that hasn't been loaded in or has to make it re-appear

my windows runs like absolute dogshit every time I download or overwrite something on the main SSD

What are you trying to do? I think if the velocity you set isn't enough to overcome gravity, the player will get grounded again the next frame, which kills all velocity/momentum.

Should I get a Meganex headset? I have a 5090 and I can technically afford it, though possible space for base stations is a bit small.
Haven't visited VRChat for a few years but I do want to try and get back to it because of general loneliness, and I want the best possible experience, comfort and visuals wise (I can live without ultra wide FOV, my peripheral vision is shit anyway). Back in the day of WMR headsets I couldn't really play for long because of the bulkiness of the headset, crap MS drivers didn't help either.
