It's not permanent. Motion sickness is temporary. Play a game until you start to feel sick. Stop, wait until it's gone, then try again (like the next day or something). You will get sicker slower and slower each time until you don't feel any motion sickness at all.

I began with skyrim VR, bad choice. Honestly start with vr chat, most of the worlds are flat and tame.

First do experience where you do not move at all, not even teleporting. So that your eyes and brain can get used to the 3D stereo effect.
Once you can last 30min with 0 discomfort then just load the steam home and see what happens when teleporting around. If you're completely fine then you'll need to train your inner ear for joystick movement for "normal" games.
As usual it's always the same, you play for half an hour and stop immediately once you get dizzy. Do that 3-4 times a day for a week and you should be good for most things.

A lot of people get motion sick in VR at first, but the vast majority of them stop getting it once they get their "VR legs" so to speak.

Do something very low activity like standing around in VRChat for a bit. Whenever you start to feel motion sick, take the headset off, rest, and then go back at it.

So Crossings is finally releasing on Steam tomorrow and they added coop. It seems like standard roguelike sloppa but the Quest demo was alright, plays a bit like Until you Fall with Zelda elements. If they keep the Quest pricing of 10 bucks it might be worth a try.

Once you get used to some of the menuing, playing Morrwind in VR (via OpenMW) is the best way to play. Feels easier on the eyes not staring at the screen and exploring in VR feels more fun. Combat is still the same and sometimes I get pretty lazy and use buttons instead of motion controls.

I caved in and bought the Quest version, it was only 8 bucks with code so eh, why not. It definitely has some Journey inspiration, player characters definitely do have the same "formless darkness with eyes in cape" design. Artstyle, music and UI are all definitely good, enemy variety is alright-ish, several types of fodder, some minibosses and stage bosses.
Combat is very much Until you Fall clone, you have to block to deplete enemy stamina and only real damage comes from the combos. Bit of physics jank but it generally works but not as fluid UyF. Magic on the other hand is really nice, fully gesture based.
Rogue elements are pretty basic, explore sidepaths for better weapons, level up to get more hearts and mana Zelda style, Other than that there's not much to collect, potions, currency to use for cosmetics or new weapons and arrows. There are upgrade shrines where you can trade health or mana upgrade for some stat bonuses.
Real problem is that it gets sorta repetitive pretty fast but I didn't see later stages.

It is very good. There are some solid systems in vrchat that are more fun to use particularly the map hosted by someone here on sundays (which is always changing and being developed) but vermillion is made by a proper turbo autist obsessed with both painting and programming/vr. From a pure realism perspective it mogs everything else even if it's a bit less "fun" than a slightly more simplified system like you'd see in the painting systems in vrchat. It feels like it's designed for a professional painter to understand more than a regular person. This is not a demerit inherently but you've gotta be prepared.

Scheduled Quest sloppa first look time. This time it's Revria, clear case of "we have Star Citizen at home". It's solodev space sim with simplified flight physics, seamless space to atmosphere to ground transitions, realtime simulation of basic NPCs, pirates, wildlife and other "living universe" things and it's most definitely a sandbox. Also asteroid fields.
The standout feature here really is the scope of the thing - it's whole solar system (and then some) with populated planets, NPCs going after their own business, space traffic, NPC battles, you get the idea. Graphics are simple but functional, planets have recognisable biomes, different cities have different architectural styles, ships are immediately identifiable.
For now it's mostly just sandbox playground, you can take on hauling, escort or bounty hunting missions, do some basic prospecting or just be a pirate. Or just plain old exploring the universe and flying from planet to planet, the seamless atmospheric entry really gives this the oldschool E:D feel.
I wouldn't really recommend anyone to buy it at this stage since it is still mostly barebones but for solodev project it's improving and updating pretty rapidly and if the level of autism on display stays it will definitely be interesting little simulation to waste few hours in sooner rather than later.
Oh and you can rent an apartment to live in, every building can be entered and has different styles of apartments.

We were so excited the first years after forming /vrg/ and after getting disappointed with the shittyness of vrchat we tried creating our own software, does anyone remember? It never went anywere, nor did the others like lavender and other vrchat competitors that I think are still on Steam but abandoned.
The first problem is that vrchat had the first mover advantage. All social circles and everything are on vrchat, and trying to get people to try the other Game was impossible, and it was so discouraging to the developer morale.
The second problem is that no one has stepped in yet to create the base for a good open source vr platform WITH USER CODE!! This is the most important part of it, apart from performance. Just giving people assets or simple scripting is not enough...
Well, nothing worked out in the end, so ended up modding vrchat until they added strong anticheat and quit.

And about the drama... it was always so bad. Give people virtual avatars, put them in a social space, and they are worse than teenagers, specially with discords. There is nothing that can be done to prevent it.

Some notes from playing. Coop code thing works by entering number by GRABBING the numbers on the stone at entrance, if you enter same code as friend it puts you in same game. Haven't seen anyone in my runs so far but I played during dead hours.
You absolutely have to parry and do combos, wagglan will get you nowhere. Magic and bow are pretty OP but you have limited resources for both and refills are few and far apart. No arrow counter for whatever reason.
You can carry two potions, pulling them out involves button press, no idea why they aren't on belt but I guess it's intentionally obtuse so you can't chug them easily during combat.
There doesn't seem to be any checkpoint system, you either have to make it all the way to stage boss or you have to do the whole run from 0.
The lantern you have on shoulder will give you direction towards the boss but sidepaths are pretty hard to find otherwise, you just have to wander around really.
Combat will usually only have one or two enemies attacking at time but ranged mobs are excluded so you can definitely take unexpected damage from javelin niggers.
There's apparently no voice chat, you're supposed to do interpretative dance to communicate in coop or something.
I like it but some of the design choices are annoying.

Breachers usually doesn't even get 5v5 for lobbies so there's bots. They took R6 Siege and removed all complexity so you've seen everything it has to offer in a handful of rounds. I switch between PSVR2 and Quest Pro often. Small latency is noticeable in all games. Anyone saying otherwise has to be trolling or has never played with a wired headset. Sharpness and detail on anything with red color is completely destroyed due to limited color encoding. Square/smear artifacts and color banding is visible in basically all situations with complex scenery or smooth lighting. This is on HEVC 150mbit and without dynamic foveated encoding though. Frame with AV1 and DFE might have better results so I am kinda looking forward to it.

Latency doesn't make enough of a difference that I really notice, and outside of some edge cases, pushing higher bitrates solves the issues I had with compression. No idea how much of a difference the SoC makes though, supposedly the Quest 3 decode times are lower.
I'm actually kinda curious if part of the perceived latency could be from the tracking on the Touch Pro controllers since I remember some people mentioned having trouble with them even on Quest 3.
