EU Assetto Corsa: European Racing club
Race 128

18:00 UTC 20:00 CET, 28th of September
And now for something a bit grippier and BRITISH. Lotus Exige at Cadwell Park. That one's fun, it's basically a tarmac rally stage, wild elevation changes, hard turns, and nice long straight. Afterwards we're starting a new big SPANISH exploration map Sierra de Cadiz, over 800 kilometers of Spanish soil with crazy spanish drivers as NPC cars. See you there!

60 minute practice
12 minutes qualifiers
8 laps race

Couldn't you also send a foveated image over display port? You'd send a 4 image quadview and the frame would carve it up. So for example, a 640x640 image for the fovea adjacent to a 640x640 image for the whole field of view.

that fucking trailer, man.
>spatial computing
lmao they actually expect people to use their shitty HorizonOS as a laptop replacement?
On my Quest it's literally the worst computing experience ever. The only reason it's bearaboe is that you don't have to interact much with it when your main apps are full-screen VR games.
The Apple Vision Pro looks like it's fairly useable for that niche, yet even that is struggling to do any sales.

>3D movies
Didn't 3D TV's bomb hard enough for them to try that whole 3D movie thing again?
This is even worse than those TV's because it's so socially isolating, whereas watching a movie together on a TV is a low-effort social activity.

>immersive sports
Is the kind of trailer trash that likes to watch negroes throw balls around really going to shell out $1300 for feeling like they can almost lick the sweat off of LeBron James' forehead?

Fashion Club
Theme: Adventurer
Date: September 25
Times:
NA: 1400 PST, 1900 EST
EU: 21:30 CEST (18:30 UTC)
SEA: TBD

The Fashion Club is a newly started (hopefully recurring) meet focused on making outfits that aren't the standard casual, sexy, tactical, etc. The goal is to build a wardrobe full of great outfits that are not skimpy(without good reason), follow a theme, and that you'd want to wear anytime and anywhere, including public instances. The given themes will be very vague or broad, allowing club members to freely interpret their design based on a loose idea to prevent uniformity(like bunny suits or tactical gear). Meets are planned for possibly once a month, once every two months, or once a quarter.

The theme for this first meet is Adventurer, typically the medieval fantasy type but any interpretation is allowed as long as the first thought by anyone on seeing this outfit is without a doubt "that's an adventurer". Don't forget your weapons, your trinkets, anything you might need on a quest. Bonus points for interactive weapon gimmicks. It does not matter how you made the outfit, if you got an outfit on booth, kitbashed, the final result matters.

There is no contest(unless the people want one). Show up, show off, see what others have made, take pictures. This is intended to essentially be a hangout+ with a focus on fashion and outfits. The Fashion Club is just that, a club; it is not a huge event with its own custom made world and a whole itinerary of activities, it is a meant to be a get-together of people with the same interest and this one is about fashion, outfits, and cultivating the creativity that lies in how you present yourself to an intended audience(even yourself).

Anyone is free to join to show off or spectate, but there is one restriction on the final design:
- You must be mostly dressed and show no skimpy features(that means no chainmail bikinis).

You can't just look at battery life from use case or what would be nice, think about the engineering. The way to get more battery life is:

A) make it shittier, but why, because you can just turn the performance down to save power when the user doesn't have it
B)Make the battery pack bigger
C)Hotswapping

I've heard the frame is actually battery heavy. The batteries seem sized on what's appropriate to cup the back of the head with. Valve sized the battery on ergonomics and weight knowing you can tether with a pocket or clip on battery. I think they would get less heat for this if they promoted the device being used this way sometimes. Just come out and say you think dealing with a short cable is better than just adding the weight and size to the headset, even on the back.

However I wonder if there was any way to get this ergonomic headrest friendly design AND it can take a hotswappable package. That would've just been a flat out best solution right there. We will see when the boulder headstrap drops how bulky the hotswap solution is.

Also I'm not even going to explain the extra buttons, that's basic information about the device and they want mixed game types and maximum use cases. It's a deck on your face, blah blah

3D movies and TV will return now because of AI conversion. There's not a content problem anymore. Also the industry LOVES a new technology like DVD, HD, 4K, HDR that justifies re-releasing old content they own the rights to.

Would a Meta Quest 4 with four lenses solve the difficulty of field of view at a cheap price? Think of driving a car. You have your rear view mirror, and you have your side mirrors. The normal two lenses for a front view, and if you look to your left or right then you see either of the other two views. This increases the field of view somewhat like a Nintendo DS had a space between the two screens...but the overall size of the screen available for picture was large.
Pic for good luck. CoDZ SuperMarket in Pavlov Shack.

You don't regret. You only get more accessories to live more comfortably.
This black friday, and the holiday shopping season, look for a halo strap, lens protectors, and a case. If you live in a hot place, then get a halo strap with a fan, and also a face gasket with a fan.

Get a new MQ3. You'll end up getting fifty to a hundred dollars in Meta Quest bucks. Spend on the Meta Quest Virtual Desktop app. Save the rest for standalone exclusives.

Some initial thoughts with 30 minutes testing the Frame. I've a 5090 and 9950X3D, desktop streaming into the headset in VRC.
Need to work out how to stop the lag when large avatars load in. In large lobbies the headset kept on skipping frames due to that, walking around kept on having a slideshow when something popped in. I feel a little sick, and I've been using VR too many fucking years now, I've not felt like this in a long time. When wired this was no issue on Index/BSB.
The image was different ... better?, but different, I'll have to go back and forth testing with my BSB2e and Frame, hard to explain and I had it in performance mode too.
Gripping with the new controllers is ass, will look at custom bindings to maybe make it easier, but fuck, this thing is going to need bunch of quality of life changes until it replaces the main headset.

I think you answered it yourself, they could make a head strap that's just a counterweight and have the battery on a cable in your pocket or whatever. And then you can make different sized batteries easily so customers can decide how large of a battery they need.

Way back when I got an index, I always assumed that that's how wireless headsets would eventually end up working

Pro-tip if you want to avoid a pro-lapsed anus, this is coming from a former hobo the Catholic church helps out the homeless lot of Catholic churches do food drives so look for help with the church, worse comes to worse there are homeless shelters as well which is better than freezing.

Also if you have someone you can trust let them maintain your emails for you if you have no access to the internet while homeless they merely have to log in once in a while to reset a deletion timer, lot of free email services delete themselves after 6 months to 1 year of inactivity, for Gmail it is 2 years hopefully you'd be out of homelessness by that time. If you lose access to your email you probably lose access to your Steam and VRC account, so try to not let that happen.

Our resident schizo died irl. Most of the dramafags stopped coming around to chase clout on twitter, a handful of the boring normafag cliques just sit in discord streaming flat shit to each other as though anyone cares, and the coomer adjacent drama stays in the /trash/ containment thread. More or less anyway. The only people left in the thread are people that play vr games, host events, discuss hardware, and explore worlds. The selfieniggers and attentionwhores also moved to /trash/ or discord because sex is better engagement bait for their self validation (you)s and emoji reacts. Generally all of them don't go to the thread because they think it's shit still, not knowing it was them that caused it to be that way.
The thread is as good as it's possible for a longstanding general to be. Good time to jump in and host an event or game night.

So you're looking at 1500-1700€ (with audio straps and depending on the other options you choose) + 500€ for 2 base stations from vive + 200-300€ for a pair of used index controllers that will break within a year of use

Alright, that's everything I wanted to make for this camera functionality-wise. Aperture, focal length, manual focus are all on rotating selector around the lens, rotating selector is not a physbone so hand rotation controls the parameter directly rather than making you screw around while finding "perfect position" to grab it, and you can toggle between modes with a button on the camera itself. I'll use it for a couple more days, work out some kinks, make a nice lowpoly model, hopefully write some installer script because it's kind of a shitshow to put it on and it involves manually aligning screen to new position + some VRCL animator changes, and it's done.

I think anon was right, I should sell it on booth. It's amazing how much more intuitive camera use becomes once one button and one rotating encoder covers all of the standard camera controls, and this rotating element came out far better than I expected in terms of overall feel. Goes without saying that I'll drop a package here anyways.

I think a controller that uses a tracker like this >>582165605 is actually a good idea. You're not locked totally into using it with lighthouse or whatever and you offload the costs of doing all that so it can be cheap for all the features. In the future when lighthouse dies totally you can still use this with Fluxpose or whatever.

There's not actually a great deal of difference between reservation and waitlist if you don't know what place you are in. You could be dead last on the reservation list or first on the waitlist and have frames arrive on the same day.

If I pre order this from Meta it will be at my door a day or 2 after release with an extended warranty and all accessories and it will just werk.

With valve I get put in a lottery to get in a lottery to get in a lottery and then they have no accessories(which are 100% mandatory according to reviews) because they didn't make any. Then if it even gets to me it will be a buggy mess for 9-18 months.

There's nothing coming.
The two headsets on the horizon are:
1. Space pro.
This is coming before the end of the year and looks to be really good actually. It's going to be over 2000 dollars.

2. Quest 4.
Meta have been really quiet on this; zero talk at their latest event and the last thing we heard about it existing at all was some throwaway interview line from like 7 months ago with them saying it wasn't cancelled. It has a 50:50 chance of never existing I think.

Other than that; pimax/htc/etc slop.

In theory you could use it like a wired Quest plugging into the rear port (USB 2.0), or with a displayport adapter for the front port (1xPCIE 4.0, 16Gb/s).

/!\ WARNING: starting later by 1h because busy with work meeting, sorry about it

Hello, today at 20:00CEST (4h from now) I will host a "YosaVR" dancing session.
>What is YosaVR to begin with?
"YosaVR" is the combination of "Yosakoi" and VR. Yosakoi is a (modern) japanese folk dance style, which often relies on using accessories.
With "YosaVR", we aim to actively learn dance routines; first we'll learn some actual yosakoi routines, but I'm planning to eventually mix it with other types of dances/songs later on.
>What does it looks like?
Here are some videos from when I was training it back in May 2025:
Easy song: https://streamable.com/ro5thz
Mid song: https://streamable.com/nu1u0g
Difficult one (no video editing): https://streamable.com/3tjs6n
And here's a training video I recorded in May 2026: https://streamable.com/iesv7l
>What to know? How will we train?
When I tried to host it earlier last year, I made this document:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1m6DHeP7rt538M18IdRz6fAGeD_hIQvGJgBc7CtrWpTo/edit?usp=sharing
Even if some infos might be outdated now, if you are interested in the project I recommend you to read it still.
This time I'll try to also host it regularly on Thursdays while keeping the "dojo format". In my opinion it is much harder than both PyPy or ParaPara, so if you want to become good at it, you will most likely need to train outside of the regular Thursday instances.
>What to expect for today?
Will adapt depending on who can join due to pushed back hours, but feeling like studying a new song, likely Naruko Carnival

Please note that dancing is an intense physical activity, so there will be a bit of warmup/stretching before we start, if you join late I strongly advise you take a few minutes warming up before starting to dance.
Sessions are open to everyone, pro and beginner alike! If you are curious to either watch or dance just join

I checked VR compared and some google searches and I don't see anything special. I hope the resolution isn't super duper high. These shittyass "8k" headsets always need downscaling and a bunch of other eye cancer like reprojection to hit playable FPS. At least the Frame I can maybe run at 120hz. 90hz is my lowest I'd go. 4k screens
good lenses
Lightweight (compute/battery puck off headset)
full face tracking

And pico sent out beta kits to a whole bunch of people. Lots of them say very good things about it while trying to not breach NDA.

Its primary purpose is to be the leading one 'replacing the thread' and also the absolute worst one to use so it doesn't actually succeed. The ones that are worse are the friend-cord type ones full of people who stopped even opening the thread because they get their info from their VRC friendgroup now who are all totally still vrg.

So reports of hardware issues are annoying; if it's failures that can be RMAd that's also not so bad but if it's design failures then that's the critical failure.

No you dingleberry. Making cancer that actually functions and you can post in is still cancer.

The small friendcords have a reason to use the thread still to chat with the bigger community.

A vee aree gee discord whose purpose is trying to get everyone invited into their vee aree gee server wih it's own channels for vrfps, vr hardware, vrgames, etc. etc. is a cancer whose purpose is to remove all posts from the thread.

Turns out wireless streaming still sucks and your games will lag and hiccup (surprise, surprise!)
https://youtube.com/watch?v=H0V2VJNVFx4&t=18m7s
So I would definitely want a wired connection for fast-paced PCVR games, but not necessarily displayport, a usb3 connection would be enough. I just need it to be stable, which is not possible with wifi.

Maybe even the usb2 connection would suffice, but that port is already going to be occupied by a power bank to augment the tiny battery, and headphones because the speakers suck and there's no headphone jack.

Honestly the more I see of this thing the more I'm resolved to just flip mine on ebay right after it arrives.

Depends what you like. We usually play SnD which is bomb defusal mode. It's often a case of running about, dying in 2 seconds, then watching everyone else run about dying quickly.
People complain about it but it's the only game mode with enough structure to be worth playing over and over since while other mods have less downtime, they also have less reason to keep going.

ghetto rig way: shader that renders depth image to desktop preview

harder but maybe more robust way: Every vr compositor has support for accepting a depth buffer input from games in order to help with reprojection. I have no idea if vrchat actually complies with this, but if it does, you may be able to hook something into your vr runtime layer to pull that out for your own use

And then our schizo died around '24 or '25 and the thread has genuinely been quite great.
Worst we get sometimes are schizos who freak out unprompted about vrchat and gay people but those are pretty tame and easy to ignore.
Just goes to show how one really mentally ill person has the power to make a thread absolutely miserable.

But yeah if you especially compare this place to mmogens which are non-stop cancer with namedropping and tripfags and guild drama, there's basically zero of that here.
Most common namedrop you'll see is Yuki but that's just because he coordinates like 90% of the events that go on here so it's usually relevant.

Only real way is a shader on an avatar that writes the depth buffer to a part of the output buffer (and has a realtime light with shadows enabled to enable unity's depth buffer output in the first place). I slopped most of this a few months ago in https://github.com/hiinaspace/vrchat-scene-probe , used in pic rel for overlay depth compositing. It does at least work in all worlds and you can stick the shader in a prefab that only activates locally. But it's still a light on your avatar and you're limited by where you can actually pack the depth info in the output.

> I have no idea if vrchat actually complies with this,
sadly vrchat does not, I checked.

Long autism post
When people talk about pso2 in a positive light, they mean the original game. NGS is universally hated and is a blight even by sega standards. Anyways
>Pso2
As a game, it was shit but sometimes fun. it was pretty jank and dated even by the time standards it was in, however It did have all the makings of an action beatemup which did have its moments.
As a story, it sucked. It was cheesy and barely serviceable but still fun.
As an MMO, it sucked. The content was incredibly sparse and slow which meant the game was in a constant state of content drought like 24/7 which made people stir crazy
The two things that DID make it really good that stood out compared to everything else was that it was amazing as a social game. It was lightweight and could be idled with no system resources at all, the game had minimal investment requirements making it even more casual dad friendly than WoW.
And compared specifically to every other MMO, it had the best character creator for actual unique creativity out there. Not to be confused with the best looking models or sliders, but the ability to create unique designs and such was very impressive for an MMO on top of being one of the only games with actual robo/mecha options. It falls short of actual creation tools sure but for a game it was very good.
But also the community was amazing for the game. Given that it was such a niche autistic game drew in a very specific crowd of good people. Even the public areas of the game had a lot to offer.
>TLDR, I ain't reading all that shit nigger
Horrible game, horrible MMO, amazing character creator (COMPARATIVELY) and amazing community.
Then NGS came along and nuked it into oblivion by being one of the absolute worst games ever made and left behind only the worst schizos imaginable and made it shit as a social client.

playing through sickness = brain associating vr with being sick and it will take longer to get used to VR.

I spent 8 years of my life playing it and enjoying it with friends, it was a time capsule and you just had to be there and in it to understand. I had two very different social circles who actual overlapped cause we just loved the game enough and I could drag them together to party and do bosses and stuff.

It was a good time and my VRC model is still largely based on my characters final look from it.

You only need to list AI use if there are front facing assets. Music, textures, models, etc are all subject to this. Code and otherwise things players will not see during gameplay do not have to be disclosed.

Great music, massive dress up potential that anyone could afford, fun gameplay, charming characters, and a JP community you could somehow feel at home in without speaking a word of the language. It had plenty of flaws but felt magical, I don't think anything can truly come close to it again. Blue Protocol had a similar vibe that I did like, but it still wasn't nowhere near overall. Well now it's gone.

In 2016 they took a shit on it with the retarded reverse-isekai EP4, and it was mostly downhill since. Story goes full retard, boss fights start getting bland hype songs that kill the atmosphere, new classes are one bad idea after another (and then old classes get messed with so they could keep up), the direction is all over the place in more ways than one.
Cue NGS, dead on arrival, because they learned nothing and assigned the guy who did the most damage to PSO2 gameplay-wise to direct its successor. I'd lie if I said I wasn't frustrated, but to me it was just a confirmation that my (not so) old friend is indeed dead.

Assuming I have a cable.... i really need to clean out the unsorted cables box anyway.

hello, world maker and biggest AI hater here.
first of all, the videoplayer has to be in a position that is comfortable to see for everyone, if you are going to put cars, it has to be in a way that the one that's on the far left is going to have almost the same experience as the one in the middle.
The screen needs to be bigger.
