Probably because you get dropped and late packets and they know users are retarded and whatever max you allow, they will set. 350 isn't flawless with my kevin, don't know about other routers.

People don't talk about multilink enough. Reviewers described it as switching routers based on connection quality and I don't think that's right. I think it's both sources sending out the same packets and whichever packet arrives first is used. You get the lowest latency of two packets in a race and a backup if one is lost. The bandwidth that's possible should be insane. You can crank bandwidth to what your routers can barely manage but as long as both packets rarely shit the bed it's gold. I wish you could multilink with two routers instead of dongle + router. The dongle sucks and valve only lets it do 250.

I assume that this is yet another Valve situation where the vast majority of people who developed it stopped and only like one or two guys brought the Frame over the finish line. It probably was mostly engineered in 2023 given its specs before most of the devs lost interest and fucked off to work on Deadlock or adding chickens to CS2. The difference is that Vive 3.0 trackers rely on the lighthouses to track them whereas Vive Ultimate trackers are more of a SLAM system that uses cameras to track itself. Or some shit like that IDK, I don't know all the technical details.
I just know as someone that bought Vive 3.0 trackers and Ultimate trackers, the Ultimate trackers were practically unuseable in how bad they were and Vive 3.0s are basically the gold standard for tracking if you have Lighthouses.

Quest 3 has got FPS degradation issues with VD. A workaround is to switch to desktop and back to VR or switch encoder. VD beta has a timer that switches the encoder automatically. It not good for racing because it makes you blind for a while.
Steam Link, Meta Link, ALVR don't have this problem. I get the best latency from USB Meta Link which I force at 350 mbps (which are actually 270 average) with a picture that looks similar to VD's constant 250.

I did that with my Index and the answer for me was just replacing it with another fresh order of replacement gaskets.

The problem with that as compared to now is that the Index gaskets were $40 for 2 pairs and were always available. So it was kinda like a no-brainer to just switch out the gaskets every 3-6 months from your 2 pair purchase and then when all 2 served their use you'd get another 2 for $40.

My Steam Frame's displays don't ever seem to shut off after taking off the headset. All the software settings say it should turn off the screen like 5 seconds after the sensor doesn't detect I'm wearing the headset anymore, but it doesn't.

Not sure if my presence sensor is just fucked up or if it's just yet another ""normal"" Steam Frame software issue that other people experience.

Place plug on sink.
Pour warm water in sink.
Place some soap in the water.
Pour some more water so it mixes.
Place the thing you want to handwash in the soapwater.
Massage the thing you are handwashing submerged in the soapwater.
Remove plug so the soapwater empties out.
Rinse the washed object with non-soap water and squeeze the water out.
Repeat the previous step maybe 5 times for good measure so no soapwater is left inside the washed object.
Last step is to squeeze all the water out and put it to dry somewhere, preferably a drying rack meant for clothes.
Let it dry out there maybe 24 hours for good measure and you are done.

You’ll be disappointed with the screens coming from bsb2e. It’s a fairly comfortable lite weight headset but again coming from bsb2e you’ll see it as a down grade.
Would only recommend if you’re upgrading from an index or quest but even then steamOS is very undercooked might be better in 12 months.
