But honestly, it's very likely they would announce something there. It's not even a sale, and this event was moved, we originally supposed to have survival fest at that time.
It would be kinda retarded if valve will not announce anything right now, but instead do it at some random date. But it's still valve so it is easily possible.

That's the thing about Valve. For better or worse, their very nature as a private company whos employees can work on and drop whatever they want makes them fucking impossible to predict. They'll work on something for a while, but if it doesn't meet their expectations it's scrapped. On the positive end, it means that they're not beholden to shareholders so they can work on things at their own pace and put out something which has potential to be truly game changing rather than just to satisfy some quarterly profit figure.

Alright motherfuckers it is that time of the week again! Going through this part of the summer months is as usual, a grind, summer conventions, dead and alive events and spurs of activity. It's an open canvas to work on things together with friends. If there is any theme to work on swimsuits are always an option, and easiest with the accessibility of the BOOTH era.

Fought a wicked cold so VR games were dead, did try out this old gmod blind tool game though. Prison architect guys made it and its like a dollar. https://store.steampowered.com/app/475190/Scanner_Sombre/

The worst part is all the goddamn KIDS who suck dick. There are some older players as well who still suck, but it's overwhelmingly children. Them and retards who turn the Q2 volume up to max and so their game audio starts causing a feedback loop of their game audio in the mic. It makes for an awful experience.

My favorite is when you have relatives shouting at them being very clear due to the lack of audio insulation on the Quest. I was in a game where one kid had both parents taking turns yelling at him to clean his room before he finally left. It was extra annoying as this was horde mode where he wasn't replaced by a bot.

Kabuto VR is real fun to use. You get an immersive in-helmet display while wearing power armor with dials for your health, rads, etc. Immersive Chems is also good. You can pull chems out of a pouch and immersively inject yourself with stimpaks like in Alyx, or quaff ingested meds. I don't even think that Skyrim VR has equivalents for those two. Also, get See Through Scopes and Better Scopes VR for proper VR scopes that you can look down. Now that FRIK lets you two hand weapons sniping guys with the scope mods is quite fun.

>How many billions is zuckerberg gonna lose when the metaverse inevitable fails?
It's not going to fail. People are narcissistic degenerates so the concept of the "metaverse" is totally going to be a viable marketplace for people to sell whatever fucking shit they're trying to sell. If you can wrap your head around it, facebook seems quaint and stupid now, but remember back to 2009/2010 when it was literally pushed as the hottest shit. People and corporations were tripping over themselves to establish a presence.

The concept of the "metaverse" being some shitty vrchat knockoff might seem laughable today, but it will evolve into something more tangible given another 10+ years. At the moment we're probably in the early-mid 90's internet in terms of progression with this stuff, but I see it all culminating with AR and web3 (unfortunately).

Yes, it sounds like a fucking nightmare. But check the calendar. We are nearly 23 years into the 21st century. Things are already dystopian.

Anonymous No.390994056

I'm doubtful that we're even that close. The early 90s internet already had very primitive online shopping, messageboards, online games and websites with simple search tools that would later evolve into online encyclopedias or search engines. The potential for the internet was easy to understand because you could already get a taste of it.

Where is the metaverse right now? It's just hanging out in the VR equivalent of a social MMO. The sense of presence and expanded interactions are new but I'm struggling to see where else we're supposed to be glimpsing the future after such a disruptive technology.

Ehhhhh, I 'd say wait. The quest 2 is already 2 years old and there will most likely be something soon. Cambria is a headset for normies, but we know that they have Quest 3 and Quest Pro skus that are most likely going to be released next year.

It's also likely that Valve will reveal something in a fortnight. Wireless VR is good once you get through the hassle of troubleshooting to a perfect setup, but it's not quite there yet and I wouldn't say a Quest 2 is a worthy improvement over a Rift S for this fact. Route the cable round the back of the headset, tuck it down your shit and save your money.

Meta Connect 2023 is in Sep./Oct., so that's over a year before Quest 3 release... at least going by rumors. And I really don't want to continue to disconnect everything from my PC, move it to the other room, connect everything, play 2 hours and rinse and repeat...

any tips for getting setup wirelessly?

i have a Quest and IDK what the problem is but i'm going to assume it's the cable, it passes the test in the oculus program just fine but when i fire up the link it lags like mad and i get shitty FPS. it used to work perfectly so maybe i just ran over the cable with my chair one too many times.
trying to decide whether to order another or try to get a replacement, or just buy a nice router and set up airlink. are there any cons to airlink assuming it's properly configured?

Everyone tries to shill Wifi 6 router but a good AC router will do the job. You need to put the Quest on the 5ghz band and isolate it so that everything else runs on 2.4ghz. Router in the same room preferably. There's a load more optimization you can do on the pc side as well.

Are you running windows 11? See pic related and turn off the top option. It literally causes what you've described. I'm not sure if this setting is in 10 as well but it probably has the same effects.

You should also be using Oculus Tray Tool at all times to adjust the link bandwidth settings as this can cause stuttering issues.

Any mods that rely on SKSE will need separate versions for VR, as VR has a separate script extender.
For USSEP, I think you'll need to use an older version. Try looking in the OP of /tesg/. I recommend against Cutting Room Floor, as much of it isn't actually cut content and is instead the author's fanfiction.

Both are elaborate to get into. With Skyrim even if you use a premade modlist you'll need to jump through hoops to get past political correctness filters. https://www.loverslab.com/topic/132489-skyrim-sexlab-and-vr/ explains what you need. VAM can be a bit smoother if you pirate premade stuff. The general on /aco/ and f95zone are good resources for it.

The best way to get started with VaM is to use the vamX addon that gives you a simplified interface for most common actions and customizations. It comes with its own tutorials as well. After getting used to vamX you can start delving into the actual game menus.
Get it on f95 because it's paywalled, then you just copy and paste it over the official game installation.

I like Koikatsu mostly because I've already got a shitload of OC cards, custom scenes I made for use in VR and can load MMD dances onto my own characters. The other Illusion games are pretty much the same, I just prefer the anime art style.
Fallen Doll and similar unmoddable animation viewers are good for one or two faps but that's all, barely worth the download unless you're desperate.
The Japs have a few like the above but for niche fetishes or with some added interactions, おなごたっちVR is worth a try if you want to headpat a girl and slap her butt.
VaM is the best when it comes to mixing porn and interacting the models but making anything yourself is a lot of work so be prepared to trawl through other people's garbage tastes. Lots of paywalled mods/scenes and the art style often has an uncanny feel for me.
Skyrim sex animations are already clunky on flat, in VR it's arguably worse but the appeal is more in the context of the sex than the quality of the models or animations. Getting a blowjob as a quest reward is hotter than just randomly loading a blowjob animation. It does lose some appeal if game mode and coom mode are mutually exclusive for you. The same rules for modding also apply to sex mods, don't go overboard adding stuff you download without testing your core mods first.

If you use the repack you have 3 options
>The KoikatuVR exe which is basically free-H in VR
>The KoikatuStudioVRPlugin in the optional mod folder which enables VR in the charastudio
>The KK_MainGameVR mod in the optional mod folder which I've never tried, sounds buggy and has it's own controls.
The controls can be awkward. You want to find the button on one controller that cycles through the modes until trigger or something opens the panel/screen. Then use the other controller as a pointer to select the animations, change clothes and control the pace just like you would in the flat version.

I like COM3D2 as far as gameplay goes. It's perhaps not as mechanically involved as Skyrim (Which to be fair has more to it than most VR games period), but COM3D2 has a big campaign with a ton of events and the like. Its VR implementation is much better than something like Koikatsu's too. The main downside is that you need 200+ gigabytes free for it if you want all of the content. The guys on ULMF make it easy enough to setup these days at least.

I tried COM3D2 and had the same issue with it that I had with Koikatsu, in that the actual game wasn't in VR, and you could only do the h-animations. Maybe I downloaded the wrong repack or something.

Walking speed was a fucking pain but it was a nice puzzle game. As a boomer I have to admit all VR Myst has going for it was visuals and nostalgia. Obduction is an objectively better puzzle game. In Myst the puzzles were kind of shit and the game was really short. Back in the day it was really just about all the prerendered eye candy which at the time looked stunning.

What is this fucking line?
>ffmpeg -i 4ch.webm -c:v vp9 -b:v 1600k -an ready.webm
And it wouldn't even work because "-c:v vp9" is not a valid command.
If you want to strip the autid just do "-vcodec copy -an", you monkey. By reencoding twice you are just multiplying the artifacts.

Also, "-speed 1" in first pass is useless, it's changed from vp8. Second pass should have "-speed 0" too.
"-time-column 6" decreases the quality.
And you don't even have "-row-mt 1". Oh my god. The more I look at your shit the worse it becomes.

Here's a VP9 sample. Working with a 3mb file limit is always tough, but it's easier to set a file size limit and it just crunches the bitrate down. Also have scripts for cropping so you get basic functions of a NLE without the bloat of having to wait for one to start and it being a memory hog.

I just find it really quick to scrub through game footage this way and bang out webms if I want to.

Mod Skyrim VR, quality VR ludo. It's a real game with lots of content even if you don't care for the vanilla quests. It works very well in VR thanks to modders, You can run it with an absolutely terrible PC too. I played it initially with a GTX 970, and with something like pixelrim you can probably run it on even worse. It and Assetto are my staples at this point as they have endless content, so I'm not running out of VR to play when I'm done with whatever 4 hour FOTM VR game just came out.

I pirated it with no regrets. It's good puzzling and adventuring. I'm not 100% certain if the combat could be called good as the weapons are weightless and it's based around breaking enemy armor before you can actually waggle them to death, but you can at least go about it several ways. The first character you get is pretty basic, but the others have more esoteric abilities which really makes the game fun. The graphics are really good too. It's 130gb, ration your SSD space carefully.

Here’s a full list of every VR game I’ve ever played

GORN
Arizona Sunshine
Robo Recall
Echo VR
PAVLOV
Boneworks
Saints and Sinners
REZ infinite
Thumper
Resident evil 7
Until Dawn: Rush of blood
Batman Arkham VR
Skyrim VR
Bloodtrail VR
Killing Floor Incursion
Drop Dead
H3VR
Boneworks
Hellsplit Arena

I know no one cares, I’m just kinda archiving what I’ve played for myself hehe

Right now, I’m playing:
Organ Quarter
Skyrim VR
Green Hell VR, but the framerates too inconsistent and I’m getting ill playing it with the stuttering

Half Life Alyx is pirated, I just need to unpack it. I’ve played Half Life 1 and 2, but never beaten it. Do I need to do that before Alyx?

Anyone have any tips for Green Hell? I pass the system requirements, I really want a cool survival game

You should play Half Life 1, 2, and 2's episodes before to appreciate the story. The context of the ending especially won't make sense without having played episode 2. You don't need to play Blue Shift or Opposing Force which might not even be canon anyways.

But then games like Bloodtrail, Green Hell, The forest, run like dogshit

Holy fucking shit no, userbenchmark is actually one of the worst websites on the whole internet you can use for ANY kind of comparison and benchmarks. They are insanely biased against anything AMD and literally think there is some grand conspiracy to bash Intel and promote AMD's stuff, read their page on the 11900k. Use literally anywhere else. There's basically no reason to use any gun other than the AK as soon as you learn how to hit heads. Literally every other gun is more fun but getting cucked by a helmet is always pain. Especially when you remember an AK would have gone through it. I still stand by the pump shotgun being my favourite weapon behind the frag grenade, naturally. More games need shotguns that actually deal damage beyond 2 meters and don't have a cone of spread that makes a perfect person sized hole between the pellets beyond 5. Granted all the other shotguns in pavlov has massive spread like that but really only the sawn-off corner blaster can be excused for that.

So I dipped into PCVR by buying a cheap used Rift. After playing Arizona Sunshine, Alyx and some Wingman... I of course want to upgrade. I thought about the Quest 2 since its only like 350€ + 50€ for some Elite Strap. Now someone mentioned the HP Reverb G2 V2 to me that probably is going to be like ~450-500€ + some 5m extension cord (can't directly play roomscale in front of my PC).

I heard the picture quality is much better with the HP, but that even the V2 suffers from not so good tracking. Is it really that bad? I'm using 3 Sensors with my Rift and it basically tracks everything perfectly...

Quest 2 exclusive games... are they really worth it? Heard that there are ways to play them on non Quest devices and I'm more interested in PCVR anyway.

Anything else that I should consider in the question Quest 2 vs. RG2V2?
Anonymous No.391196089
>>391195614
The Reverb suffers from tracking issues the same way the Quest does, in that it doesn't use lighthouses and does tracking exclusively through cameras on the HMD. You won't have to worry about that if you continue to use the Rift controllers on the Reverb.

no, I don't think I will buy it
the premise is cute and the demo was fairly enjoyable but as mentioned elsewhere ITT it's painfully obvious that the dev has zero experience with VR and what makes games /comfy/ there
compare to ITR which I sperge out in praise of regularly, the simplest interactions there feel satisfying
I somehow enjoy the action of cleaning my guns and equipment, sorting my gear
and this game appears to have absolutely none of that
if I could build a little house back at the town where I can collect and shine my gear and trinkets so that I can impress Iris and have her come over for hot tea then it would have more appeal

>all your weapons despawn

Then probably a mode where weapon drops are truly random, increasingly better, a planned set like gun game, or the opposite where weapons get worse each crate.

Has anyone ever had a thing where FSR actually CAUSES framerate issues?
I'm running a RX 6600, and a 5600x CPU and I STILL cant run Into The Radius at 72hz on medium settings

Anonymous No.391270620 Replies: >>391270827

FSR can make frames worse if you are upscaling too little. Its sharpening shader does cause overhead after all. So if you are using FSR at native resolution (no upscaling) and just using the sharpener you will get less frames than with no FSR.

>Is AP ammo that much of an improvement or do I just need to bring more ammo in general?
both of the enemy types above are very tanky even with AP, 7.62x39 FMJ has 70% AP chance natively so it should be good for most of Bolotky unless you take a Cleanup
you will definitely want AP afterwards, it is 90% penetration chance iirc

I'm on vive so throwing grenades is really hard. I've had a lot more success throwing underarm though. Clicking those grip buttons to throw is just horrible. Grenades don't have a damage sphere either, it's just the fragments that fly off that cause damage. Because of that you should be careful not to use them in a room with lots of clutter where they might land under a table or in a box or something that will completely block all the fragments. The grenade launcher is good fun just be careful about using it close range. It's great to start a fight if you have the drop on a group of enemies.

What the fuck is this fuckery? Got my leg/waist trackers detected, but when I try to pair 2nd index controller it says "it looks like your controllers are already connected".

So as a test I disabled 1 of my leg trackers, then it did let me pair the 2nd index controller...but got the same message when trying to pair the leg tracker again. What the fuck? I haven't played VR in months but this setup worked fine on this computer back then.

It's basically a VR dungeon crawler FPS, not really a JRPG. You need a bit more than a generic isekai-like generic fantasy setting to be a JRPG. The voice acting is nice. I wish there was more than one drab, monotonous environment that was stripped right out of BoTW shrines. There's no option for smooth turning that I've seen. I like the spell parries and blink. The regular combat is very obviously FPS controls where you replace a gun with a gauntlet that shoots fireballs, you even have to reload it. The poster ads seem to just be in that one back alley location, and cycle between different virtual market type advertisements, including VTubers and booth models for VRChat, but it doesn't really get in the way. Odd decision. Animations and interaction is few and far between. The game's Cortana stand-in is cute.

I don't know if it's because I had still had OVR advanced settings on, but the collision in-dungeon was very, very off. I had a hard time going up stairs without phasing through them, or not falling into bottomless pits. The bottomless pits seem to have no kill plane, so you just fall forever until you restart. Since nobody else has reported these problems it's likely on my side somehow.

Very amateur, not worth $35. If you like weeb stuff it's okay, but it's another case of really new game developers doing VR projects.

I have no idea how people tolerate this hack's mods. The novelty of "wow, I'm in the game with 3D depth!" wears off incredibly fast because of his hatred of motion controls and just how much you have to turn down all the settings to get a decent frame rate on most things. It's kind of fun to walk around with the gamepad with for a short bit, but to actually play the game that way sucks.

I think they'd make it would be an absolute abomination with CS mechanics ported directly into VR: no inventory, gun stuck to hand, hold knife to run, movement inaccuracy, hold a button to plant/defuse, barely any VR interactivity, etc. I doubt they'll ever do anything in VR with counter strike because they won't be willing to change those characteristic 20 year old mechanics and will come to the conclusion that VR is inherently an unsuitable platform for CS. They won't buy Pavlov either because it is recognisable as a CS clone while also deviating too much from it.

Verdant Citadel is one of my favorite single level wads. It is open ended as you can go whatever direction you want to get the skulls needed to visit the last area. It's extremely aesthetic with the level being a large multi layered moss covered castle. It's a Cacoaward winner so you know that it's worthwhile.

I remember there being a holstering mod. There are multiple weapon wheel mods too. But I have never seen a mod for reloading, partially due to the fact that you don't reload in Doom. Ironically Quake VR added reloading with its last update.

Jesus Metal of Honor: Above and Beyond is such a crashing piece of shit. Spent an hour trying to get it to work and it would crash every 5-10 minutes without failure, often sooner. And the game itself is terrible even when it works.

Why is almost every bigger company such ass at putting out VR games or ports? This, Sniper Elite, Hitman, Skyrim and FO4 are only saved by extensive modding. I don't expect everyone to be Valve with Alyx, but how are they so bad at this? It's not even samey or dull but pretty like most flatscreen AAA games are, it's actively bad.

He's just a typical patreon grifter. He gives people want they want (VR mods for popular flat games) but the problem is that he does the bare minimum application
>get the game rendering in stereoscopic 3D
>make sure the menus are navigable/aren't fucked
That's it. Only problem is that there's companies like VorpX that have been doing this exact thing for ten years. He refuses to tackle any kind of motion control application in any of his mods, or roomscale. So it's glorified 2012/2013 era VR experiences of sit down in this chair, marvel at the 3D effect and use an xbox controller while your eyes bleed because the game runs like fucking shit because he barely worked on it to move onto the next game/fanbase to milk.

It's just another case of people were doing something for years/decades and some cunt comes along and does the same thing but presents in it just the right way to hit it big with zoomers. Couldn't imaging how much of an uncomfortable eye raping experience his Cyberpunk mod would be. Like most cunts on patreon he doesn't deserve that much money for what he puts out but paypigs are gonna paypig.

The V2 of the G2 is a lot better than the V1 and can track further backwards than the Quest 2. That said it's mainly the vertical tracking volume which is worse. That and the use of visible lights over IR which makes the lighting conditions of your playspace more important. I use the Index controllers with the G2 anyways.

VAM stands for Visit Activity Matrix. Basically an excel file containing all the subject visits and visit activities created for a clinical trial management system for the specific protocol. Master and country specific SVT (Subject Visit Template) are split in the VAM of course. Any necessary ongoing updates related to the clinical trial study design are also implemented into the CTMS SVT through the VAM first.

Not sure what this has to do with virtual reality video gaming though.

Boneworks looks kind of neat. Do you need a lot of space to walk around? I've got enough space to flail around and stuff. Gets the job done in H3VR. Is it a twin stick style movement?

Every modern game follows similar control scheme, so no, you don't really need a whole lot of space. If you can play any other motion controlled VR game while standing, you'll be fine in boneworks.

One thing to mention is that uh, every now and then you might need to almost-jump, go from squat to standing real fast. You can jump way higher in boneworks when you combine ingame jump button with real body movement. That's the only somewhat space-aware bit of this game that is different from the other titles.

Yeah. Most of them are their own worldspaces. The only exception is stuff like Maids II which has a ton of scripts that you need a new save for, and Enderal of course which is effectively its own game. Make sure to generate new lods via Dyndolod if you use that. I've been playing Beyond Reach lately which has some cool setpieces but is a bit too edgy at parts.

Bruma is pretty high quality. The drama surrounding the Beyond Skyrim team aside it's probably the most polished of the big landmass mods. It is again explicitly made so it won't break anything if added mid playthrough. I like that it has well modeled versions of monsters from Oblivion which helps expand the enemy variety of the game. Other mods that add goblins are kind of shoddy in comparison. You will want some compatibility patches for a few things though. With the Ordinator perk mod for instance you need a patch to fix an issue the merchant perk has with it.

If you're talking PVE experiences, on the FPS end Payday 2 is an amazing co-op VR experience, just be sure to download the VR fixes to make it more proper and immersive. The base game regularly goes on sale for 1 dollar and it has loads of DLC you can get for more content if you like it. Pavlov has the numerous Call of Duty zombie map mod ports and custom maps on the workshop, wave defense mode with 4-10 players where you have to defend against increasingly tough zombies with in map progression like gun and ability upgrades. It goes on sale for 10 bucks or less. SURV1V3 is also a criminally underrated game with up to 4 player co-op through an open world zombie infested place, has a long campaign to play through or a survival mode. Think of it kind of like diet Sanits and Sinners with co-op and slightly less intense crafting mechanics. It's almost never on a good sale for more than a couple bucks and stays solidly at 20-25 USD.

If you like Racing Games Assetto Corsa and Project Cars 2 usually go on sale for pretty cheap as well. AC in particular has a massive modding community and loads of custom tracks, but the UI navigation is pretty ass as you have to use the desktop somewhat. They can be cheap.

L4D2 has a pretty well working VR mod that support co-op, be sure to read the directions to not get VAC banned however, though it's missing a lot of little things which may or may not bother you, such as no manual reloading and UI's not really there. But almost everyone has L4D2 or it's a couple bucks on sale so may be worth a try, might help you decide if something like After the Fall, more built for VR, is worth it.

I believe Roomscale is sort of half there, but from what I saw the dev is supposed to to make it fully work in the next update soonish. Manually throwing items doesn't really work yet, you throw them with a trigger, and melee is also mapped to a button while being directed by your head orientation, but aiming with guns is fully decoupled and motion controls are in working order there.

It's definitely in the early phases with some jank, but if everyone already has L4D2 or you can pick it up for a couple bucks on a sale, you should still get some fun out of it with a group. It works with most custom content and mods as well.

I see. I might wait on it then as I don't like aiming with my head and standing in place. How does weapon spread work? I know that in the normal game your spread increases when you are moving fast, but decreases when you stand still, and further increases when you crouch. Are all of those factors still in the game or is it changed to be more like normal VR shooters? What about crouching itself? Can I do that with a button or does it have IK so I can crouch IRL to let my buddies shoot over my head? What about item selection too? Are there holsters or a weapon wheel I can use?

To be clear, you aim with your hands using guns, you can aim entirely independent of your head with them. It's only melee weapons which are still tied to your head orientation. I haven't tried playing with friends because all of mine are too poor for VR, so I don't know how well crouching while shooting over your head would work, but it at least felt like it worked. L4D2 bullet spread is ridiculously tight and most guns are laserbeams compared to how bad bloom can be in modern shooters, so while it's not quite like normal VR shooters, it feels close enough, to me at least. No holsters, you select things using your non-dominant thumbstick's forward and back movement.

Like I said, it's still very early on and if you really value a bunch of the little details like holsters and manual reloads, then After the Fall will probably do you better, but I found it kind of sparse on content and it's definitely well over your 15 euro budget even on a sale.
>>391934346
Completely forgot about those, yeah they're good. Surprisingly lengthy as well, but definitely want a few friends since it can feel pretty quiet with only 1 or two buddies. Valve is such a weird company because in some ways it feels like they get VR on a level nearly no other big company understands, all the little touches in Alyx are amazing, but on others their attitude and design choices are weird. They're delusional if they think L4D2 wouldn't work in VR and stuff like Alyx lacking any kind of proper melee damage, even if you can swat headcrabs away, and moving so ungodly slow feels so odd.

I don't have much experience with overclock on anything other than samsung b-die (it is expensive though), I think you should be able to push to 3600 at least.
Cmd2T should go to 1T too.
Dunno if you would be able to push the timings down much to be honest.

Go into BIOS and just set the frequency to 3600 without touching timings for now and see if the system will post (it should), but in case it doesn't pull out the CMOS battery, power cord, and press the power button, that should reset the BIOS.

They've divided up the maps pretty well for the sections of the game. Route is hobo mode, swamp is early game, factory is mid game, and kolhoz is late game.
Hobo mode you can get by with anything, early game you need to have at least bought a better gun and have a grasp on how the game works, mid game you learn about AP and how to manage and prepare for longer raids plus know when to quit, and late game you have to have a very good weapon you're comfortable with and know how to overcome vastly superior forces holed up in secure areas.
