For those of you who like to use gamerips and mmd pieces like me, I'd highly recommend trying out texture upscaling with ESRGAN. I've been using it a lot recently for my textures, and I'm very happy with the results. Much better than waifu2x from my experience. NA friend by friend was much more successful than SEA strictly in terms of the rando situation, but i'm pretty sure that was just due purely to luck because there was no host there for most of the hours.
But there were still a decent chunk of randos it seems, as well as mamamad and it's braindead orbiters. I hope the map will have some automated anti-rando and security options for next year. It wasn't really that much of an issue the previous years but this time it was unacceptably bad in some timezones and some people were complaining last thread about NA getting slightly rando infested.

However cluster mu does not care about anyone outside japan, they have not done a proper translation of their website or sdk and just gave me the classic friendly answer if you ask when it is coming.
You are talking to the prime source here as I have ported some of my worlds over, but gave up porting more cause why should I support their platform when they only care about japanese and I am not japanese.

performance is very good, as even running it on my old phone has been no problem. They only have avatars and worlds though, I also like that they use the .vrm format for avatars. UI feels more streamlined than even vrchat and you have a chatbox in each world that persists. So you can see the stuff people chatted about in a world even if it happened long after people left.

As said I wish they would be more international, but maybe thats their whole selling point to be for japanese only.

Indeed, upscaling tools are amazing these days! Upscaling nomal maps takes a little more care but can also have amazing results, almost making it feel higher poly, more so than just upscaling the diffuse. For anyone interested in doing that, I suggest using 3D LUT Creator and Photoshop, because the upscaling can shift the colors a bit which you absolutely don't want for normal maps because of how they work. Use those tools at the final step after upscaling to match the colors back to the original's.

Also if you look at the file wa (fixed).fbx it's mostly done you just have to follow the steps mention in the manual about CATS (Prepping your Avatar with CATS). You will have to install the CATS plugin as well as the Atlas Optimization plugin to get the ball rolling though

2) An invite system similar to the B-club VIP system. This would place people in an empty room for 5 mins when the but it's via invite.
(I'd like this one to be rarer too more of a special event. so "invite coin" call it as)

But, hey, it may even be a welcome surprise that the interlocutor extended, so you can continue to have fun. It'd make you feel good that the other person is willing to spend the rare resource on you.
On the other hand, someone may feel bad that a good friend or interesting partner isn't willing to spend the rare resource to get more time with him.
Furthermore, think about this situation: What if you _don't_ want to extend, but the other party does? Oh no, another 5 minutes forced into this horror conversation? Will you respawn and doubly hurt them to get out of it, after they were willing to drop their coins on you? I guess a rejected extension could be refunded, but will you bear another 5 minutes of torture? It's just 5 minutes, after all, but you could've spent that with someone new.
Also, will both people have to agree to spend coins? Will you make people have to lie to the other person that they don't have coins to extend when they do? Will it be only on one person to spend the coins? If so, who would pay the "tip"?

And all of that just to preserve a conversation you could've just left open-ended, so you'd have a conversation starter for the next time and another reason to join on the new friend you made.

When upscaling textures instead of anime images, I've found that BSRGAN just does a better job than waifu2x all-around. Does better clarifying details as well as removing artifacts and banding without destroying lines or introducing blur.

The only thing I can't figure out with Magica MeshCloth is how use it with multi-layered dresses and the such without the mesh clipping into itself. Tried things like upping the triangle decimation on the virtual deformer, but that doesn't really seem to work well. On anything that's one contiguous piece of cloth it does really well though. Anything more ornate usually has layers though.
