I have Shoulder, the real bone that the ik is set with, and shoulderreal, which is the bone that the shoulder piece is actually rigged to.

I want to make it so that the 'shoulderreal' follows the shoulder bone, but not in the z axis, so that it only moves up and down.

I tried the obvious of just rotation constrainting the shoulderreal bone to the shoulder bone and turning of z axis, and trying to aim constraint the shoulderreal bone to the arm bone lower down with z axis turned off, and it works ok when i lift the arm UP, but when it goes DOWN it completely inverts like this

aim constraints are wonky af, and will flip outside of a 180 degree window.
the upvector determines where this happens, so parent an empty object to your upper body and set it as the upvector, then move it around until things move the way you want them to.
Depending on the upvector you can also get things to rotate /a bit/ depending on the orientation, which can be useful when you're doing weirdo stuff

While its jank will hurt you in other ways, I'm impressed by how well shillout performs generally. I can actually maintain 144hz with 2x supersampling on a 3080ti, with a video player and all 5 other people from the thread in the same instance. vrshat drops to 72hz as soon as another person joins, and usually hovers around 48, with those same 5 people. I (and everyone else) got used to it over the years when vrc was the only option, but now the fps hurts whenever I go back.

In the grand scheme of things, you still have to trade off that better performance to all the other stuff like sdk3 avatar features, udon world scripting, and of course more worlds and people, plus the friction of porting and reuploading avatars, launching a different .exe in steam, etc. However, if you're just trying to watch some chinese cartoons with people you already know in a private instance, I think shillout works pretty tolerably these days. And depending on how you think vrchat's future is going to go with """creator economy"""", well, you can start exploring a different platform now, before you have to.

In a recent update they set the mic to push-to-talk by default, and hid the settings in your god-damn journal book thing. You also need to hit apply after changing it to voice activation before it works.

only one CCD has the large cache, the other CCD is normal, so it has higher clock speeds. As they didnt fix the thermal issues with the v-cache so they cant run them at as high clock speeds. so depending on the workflow some will benefit more from the higher clocks than the large cache.
