Last tip also, in the beginning totally naked runs with a backpack are super viable. You save time in between raids. And finding guns isn’t hard. Well I don't have the Occulus shit installed and it shows my controllers as Q2 ones but then I'm not using the latest VD version so heh. On that note you don't really need it, if you right click > launch game on the VD icon in the tray bar it'll run games with the occulus runtime. It's supposed to help a bit with overhead but most realistically I just use it to run pirated games without having to use revive.

I record steamVR preview window with OBS, then trim video and do a two pass webum conversion with ffmpeg. There's this plugin thingy, but I never bothered to check it out, stuff works fine as it is.

Just remember to scale down output resolution relatively to video length. The longer it is, the worse it looks when it's big, considering 4mb limit.

I use OBS studio with Oculus mirror or the OpenVR plugin to record, buffer record is invaluable. Oculus mirror has some nice options to stabilize the view and hide the boundaries. Recording the game window directly isn't a good option when most games only show the left eye or have it so far zoomed in that you need to be watching interesting stuff from a distance.

I previously used WebM for lazys but switched to ffmpeg for finer control. Most of the time it's just pasting the same command with different bitrate and start/end times.

This is a schizo tier take, different people do different things for different reasons. FBT absolutely is great for immersion, it drives me crazy about how the location of your hips is determined by where your head is in 3pt mode.
I don't ERP and never have. I mainly use FBT for dancing, for "immersion", and for being able to lay down and sleep in VR.

Immersion is really a bad word for what it is because it's equally important when it comes to presentation. An avatar with FBT seems a lot more alive than one using 3pt.

If you're running games at 72fps then a game latency of less than 14ms is fine (11ms for 90fps)
Encoding and networking is fine, though if you get spikes in the networking latency then consider moving closer to your router.
Decoding of 12ms is the best you'll get with HEVC, you can get like 7-8ms with h264 but that's it.
Graphics quality dictate the resolution the game will be running at if you let your steam VR resolution to Auto. Try setting VD quality to high, and going in the steamvr res and scaling it down to 100% instead of the default 150%
Spacewarp you want off because it'll kick as soon as you drop below your max fps. Basically it's frame interpolation and you get a bunch of stutters when it activates/deactivate.
If you want absolute lowest latency then try H264 and around 80mbps with framebuffer off, but it'll look like poo in the headset but you'll get around 25ms.

if you got an opportunity to ambush someone, make sure you actually have cover before ambushing them, so you don't have to find it after they begin shooting at you
also actually aim at the person instead of near them, the bullet doesnt hurt if it doesnt hit
try to kill whoever is closer to cover first, so that the other has to scramble for it before returning fire or has to return fire from the open
blind firing is extremely situational and only good when the other party has nowhere to run, such as a narrow tunnel or when cornered, and is an aggressive action, not a defensive one- use it when you have someone pinned or are punishing someone for attempting to push you
cars are not cover, only concealment- most weapons can pen them (or should be able to) and they can shoot your legs from underneath- go for a ditch or the far side of a hill
never pull out your backpack in a fight if you can help it, it's a huge distraction and gives them a massive window to push you
swap to semi auto for longer range and avoid shooting if you don't have a good sight picture, it just wastes ammo and reloading puts you in hot water
