Mostly I play non VR games so the VR headset wouldn't really get much use from me. I do like the freedom that VR chat offers in terms of the range of activities you can do. That has less to do with the headset functionality and more of it being an open platform though. If my friends were to get VR headsets I probably get one too but at present none of them have one.

I am cautiously optimistic about the beyond because it's focused on weight and comfort. I like my index but it's really annoying to use it for six hours or more. It's also very annoying to sleep in. It's a good headset but I want something lighter.

It used to be quite common back in early to mid vrg along with other various MMD models and frankensteins, but it has fallen out of style recently in vrg due to it's use in eboy/egirl style. Literally every hole is a 3 par that would take two shots but they add lasers that use timing gimmicks and if you hit a laser you get instagibbed, so the only design gimmick is the lasers so other than them the holes are uninspired.

The main reason I had a decent time was my "take a shot on each hole" idea.

I played it earlier. Apart from one or two holes that you can take the wrong approach to it was pretty easy. The par for the holes are all low because they're simple shots once you get the correct timing.

The 18th hole was very underwhelming this time, like you could have slotted it in anywhere in the second half and not felt out of place. Some of the older courses were much more climactic and i'd rather they save some gimmick for the final hole.

I played the break-in which is a newish game I guess with a few friends. It has a VR mode and a neat concept and about four maps. Unfortunately the toolbelt in it kinda sucks and since the game is about grabbing stuff you're always accidentally grabbing the items off your toolbelt and losing them.

You usually don't miss something you've not experienced before, but you do strongly miss things you've grown accustomed to - like talking to your friends.

That's why I don't think someone who was friends with people but got thrown out for whatever reason would be able to keep up the act. They'd become frustrated at not being able to do the thing they've done before, so they'd eventually leave for a different group, instead of having to keep up the act.

People can compartmentalize their desires based on context. You may want something in VRChat that you may not want outside of VRChat, and vice versa.

But this brings up a arguable subtype of mutes that shouldn't be forgotten, those who only talk to specific people and are mute for 90% of the rest of the time, thereby appearing as mutes to most people.

I don't think that needs to be the case, but I earlier said that it's a skill issue in part because it requires genuine skill. It's not easy, and that's why most people cease to be mutes eventually. But some keep preferring it.

I think most people would agree with the definition that a mute is someone who doesn't use a voice.
As a sidenote, I say "a" voice instead of "their own" voice because they may use a voice changer or text to speech, or speech to text to speech, though the latter two will probably be argued about as well.
But I also think that most people wouldn't categorize someone as not a mute just because they use text to chat. People like Ancolie, who uses the chat function a lot but don't use their voice, are mutes according to this definition.

I was looking at Walkabout Mini Golf reviews while waiting for the update to finish and saw that a ton of recent 1-star reviews were about Upside Town. What did you guys think of this DLC? One of my personal issues with WMG is the lack of video-gamey holes and courses. It's all very traditional and barely takes advantage of the fact that its a mini golf video game. The settings always look really cool but it feels kind of pointless that each course doesn't have some kind of unique game-changing gimmick like Upside Town has. I guess if you're a purist who's all about getting those angles down, Upside Town forcing you to learn new swings in new positions is kind of ass, but I thought it was a lot of fun. Really felt like an actual "VR" experience for once.

I am trying to figure out a way to get Air Link on the quest 2 working properly, is there a specific bitrate I should set it up to?
It comes by default up to only 100mbps but I can set it up to 200mbps, but it seems like the controls feel way more laggy
Also what refresh rate should I even be trying to use with air link for the best experience?
And lastly, whenever I try to use air link, I get very small jumps/stuttering in the image and it gets pretty nauseating, has anyone had that issue and found a way to fix or circunvent it?
My router is an wifi 5 one with a 5GHz network used pretty much only by the Quest 2, my computer is connect through a gigabit cable to the router, and they are all very close to each other.
I know it is recommended for best experience to have an wifi 6 router, but I can't buy one right now, and a lot of people have said wifi 5 on a 5GHz network is fine as well.

Depends on what you're looking for, I suppose. I don't care about it feeling unique to VR. The ability to just boot up my headset and play minigolf is fucking great because I enjoy minigolf but it's expensive and time consuming to play IRL if you don't want to just keep going to the nearest course. Upside Town feels way too far from actual minigolf to scratch that itch and I never feel the desire to play a round of it if I just randomly jump on and look through the courses, which is a problem since they're not fast about releasing courses and there isn't any community map creation ability, so a DLC that's bad is a large amount of wasted potential. I prefer more interestingly designed courses that are about just playing well over a gimmick, which is why I can also understand people not enjoying Laser Lair normal since it's a rather boring course other then some stuff that just kills you, but thankfully the hard mode fixes that to actually make the lasers more then just a timing gimmick. If they releases courses more often, I wouldn't hate the gimmick courses as much as I do, but pace of release means that you can go an entire season without a new course you enjoy if you don't like the gimmick ones.
