So my Rift strap hinge is totally severed, and the strap itself is breaking. Ideas for a poor man's repair? I was thinking a lot of super glue, a couple washers, and a bolt, but when it gets hot it would weaken the glue, and what would happen when the plastic on the strap completely crumbles apart.

Metal Hellsinger is really fun in VR for the $3.60 a CD key cost me. I was chagrined to download Pistol Whip and to find out that it was mostly monkey noises over African tribal beats, but thankfully a much better rhythm shooter with music made exclusively by white people is available in VR. It's hard on my PC but turning down settings helped.

I've never played beat saber, but it enrages me that we have VR headsets and people use it to play such stupid shit.

I've been using my Bigscreen Beyond for a few weeks now since I got it. I'm going to give an updated review sometime next week!

If you want a little bit of a spoiler of how I feel about it after 3 weeks though: It's a headset that comes with tradeoffs and I legit feel that the tradeoffs it makes are more than worth it. Well that's about as cheap as you can get a decent headset, without some kind of underpricing like facebook did. The expensive parts of VR are the overall headset construction, the lenses and the screens. There are also lots of little cheaper parts like mics, cameras, etc, and an entire SoC and battery in most. Cutting out the SoC and battery will only save like $100 at most, and make it unusable in the process as it will have no tracking. Adding lighthouse tracking is like $150 or more, and you still need a cable which is another $100 for something long and high bandwidth enough, and a board to process the high resolution video...
VR headsets are expensive the same reason cars are; there's just lots of components needed working together for it to work.

Yeah, you can get the most recent version from github. https://github.com/LivingFray/HellsingerVR It's very fun in VR, I like how the haptics pulse with the beat which is a certain advantage over kb+m. The main downside I've found is the performance as mentioned and that you don't get an extra crosshair for akimbo weapons. The crows at least are forgiving with that.

I didn't realize that BPM was the better game. I got that on a humble bundle years ago so I'll give that a shot too. Hellsinger at least is very hypnotic with enemies, environment, and eventually your own actions all twitching to the beat. The DLC burst gun is really fun as it sounds like a drum roll whenever you use it. I'm glad that it's better than Pistol Whip at least even if better rhythm shooters are out there.

Quite literally the same track-quality, just a tiny bit smaller. Battery life seems to be a bit better, but all in all it doesn't seem "Well fuck my vives I spend 300+ on. I will now spend 300+ and get NEW trackers"-better.

If you have vive trackers (or if you can get an RMA) I don't see the need to buy tundras. They are not THAT much cheaper and for what it's worth, they track exactly the same.

Single instance is kinda aids, but I think it was more so the difficulty in like, finding people willing to help. How would a split would even work? I was one of the people who was in a house giving out candy, we struggled to find people even willing to do that. If there was a split, we’d need double the people (which wouldn’t have helped). It's practically inevitable that some sort of non-anonymous service would be used to plan out the details, especially when things like private access codes for the world controls are involved.
The way these events are usually run is that the hosts and assistants are put into temporary group DM's which are dissolved when the event is over.

That's a pretty far cry from how people pretend these things are run, which is "the host gets all their personal close friends together in their own inner circle discord server and has them run and plan out the event".
It's also not comparable to being immersed in big trannycord servers to such an extent that you talk about things in this thread that were only posted in Discord.

You mean in general or in the passthrough? You may have the headset adjusted incorrectly. It takes a bit of time of adjusting the IPD and adjusting the straps before you can get it perfect.
You might be one of the people whose head shape just doesn't fit the Oculus headsets very well. I had the same issues and even after years of trying I could not get them to fit properly.
You could consider getting a different strap.

Pico 4 has pancake lenses instead of fresnel, which is an upside. It also has the capability of wireless, and the Pro version, while A LOT harder to get, also features eye/face tracking.
The downside is that it's chink shit and the display doesn't look quite as good.
Meanwhile the Index is wired, which is an upside or a downside depending on what you want to use it for. Wired means you don't have to worry about headset battery life. But it has a somewhat lower display resolution compared to "newer" headsets, which it makes up for with a crystal-clear picture quality (no video compression).
The tracking is also better, using lighthouses to track the headset which results in better tracking and more compatibility with Vive Trackers and Index Controllers.
Pico 4 is a bit cheaper. Overall I would suggest an Index if you use it for VRChat at all, otherwise it's a tossup depending on how important not having a wire is for you.
