Based on last thread's responses, it seems the majority of you don't want sweeping changes to the roster just for the sake of getting rid of old memes.
The feedback about the idea for representing more different /vrg/ sub-groups/activities seemed mixed though. So I have a few more questions for how the roster should look:

Depends on how you do it. I end up doing all kinds of dumb stuff, having funny 80iq conversations, and then when I wake up the next day, my VRC photo folder is filled with dorky pictures. Good fun, good times.

VR is so ass backwards when it comes to exclusivity bullshit that died out years ago with flat games. Sony ported all the Horizon games to PC, including the Lego one, but forgot about the VR Horizon game entirely. Even shit like Lone Echo 1+2 and Asgard's Wrath which are on PC simply never showed up on the most popular PC storefront even though it would be free money for them. It's sadder for PSVR1 games as you have to play them with an ancient 1080p headset whereas Quest games can at least be played on a modern headset. I'll never be able to play Fromsoft's only VR game thanks to Snoy.

I think that the .apk situation is everything being built around the Oculus Quest API and Pico not being entirely interchangeable with that.

I don't really think we need more booth models with accessories as players, and that's what most of those would end up being.
Speaking just for myself as someone that hosts some of the anime stuff, I don't think it warrants a player at all, but maybe one of the other hosts would disagree.

They are vrchat related and I wouldn't put any of them at the moment, mostly because that, while I don't dislike the idea, everything is VRChat related and I want to have other games included in the team too.

UI radar are immersion breaking and basically cheating, but this guy will tell you verbally if someone is there on your right. Download, install, select Asseto Corsa in game list, press "Start application" and it should work!

the pucks i have now are 5200Mah,19.24Wh listed. weight 141.5 gram (just measured one). a Molicel 50B 18650 battery is 4850Mah 17.5Wh and 71 gram (probably higher Wh in practice than the bobovr pucks because molicel is a more reliable company)

im thinking of 3D printing a small battery holder on the back strap with springy contacts on both sides and strong magnets inside the holder holding the battery in place so i can switch em out easily. the main advantage of this is the batteries are very standard i have a charger that takes 4 18650s. i can have a perma-wireless setup that is cheaper and lighter than my current bobovr

My 2 year old puck is 18 Wh, measured not too long ago, pic related.
But it's so fucking inconsistent.
When I measure it with MITM usb tester, it performs better. Sometimes, but sometimes it just sits at 10W and there is nothing I can do.

I have no idea how that shit works. Does it depend on the temperture of the device, so after a while the quest just stops drawing enough to sustain itself?

from your image im getting you compared it just sitting in the main menu (low cpu drain mainly LCD screens take power) vs it decoding incoming VD video. you have 2 main things which draw a low of power: video decoding and the screens and you need to control for those if you want to check how much power VD draws.

simplest way to do that is have a VR180 video (just download one from youtube). put a copy on your PC and one on your headset and compare playing it locally vs playing it from the PC via VD. so the screen shows the same shit and takes the same amount of power

Isn't that already controlled basically? I don't touch the brightness or the stream settings.

What I want to active is infinite playtime without the battery drain.
Capacity by itself is worthless if it doesn't supply enough wattage to sustain the headset.
And it's really fucking weird. Just now I was switching from normal powerbanks for phones to bobo. And bobo was fucking hard stuck at 6W until I did a full headset restart.
We need to understand how it works exactly so we can control it.

I think it negotiates based on current temps, then locks it and keeps drawing the same.
But if you change the battery it renegotiates again based on the current temp, and locks again, but if the temp is high it keeps drawing lower power, so headset might lose charge.

i didnt use my headset and pucks for a couple of months and when i wanted to play something one of them seemed fully discharged for some reason and wouldnt charge/work. it briefly looked like it's charging at 10W and all the lights turned on but now its back to 'charging' at 0.1A 5V and when i try puttin it on the headset it doesnt turn light up like it's working.

im thinking maybe the batteries discharged too much so ill recharge them manually using an fpv drone charger or adjustable power supply and it will go back to working
