Finding the vrchat meetups is just a matter of having the right people added. That will depend on your timezone.
My suggestion is to start on a weekend and meet/add people then. The weekday meetups are smaller and can be boring, especially if you're NA.

Capsense isn't really necessary for "regular games", and other than that the controllers have all the same inputs as Oculus Touch controllers. You should be able to use Touch style controls in pretty much everything but VRChat.

Lighthouse tracking is definitely better, but my old cheap WMR headset was fine with pretty much anything I threw at it. It could even handle Expert+ Beat Saber well enough for my skill level at the time. The tracking range was bad, but they're fixing that for the G2.

FWIW my personal issue with discord is that I just don't have any interest participating in a large realtime text chat with persistent identities with a heavy electron-based client. I much prefer discussing things on 4chan, with post timers and anonymity. Who wants to learn about a very different locomotion method? Its called redirected walking and its where you combine physical rotation with artificial rotation to always allow room in the play space for walking forward. As an example, say you walk forward in real life but reach the end of your playspace. To continue walking you have to physically turn around, but then you are looking in the other direction. To fix that you artificially turn back. Using this you can walk forever ingame. In laymans terms, walk in circle irl, walk straight ingame. Just like in the pic.

I have been doing this for a few weeks now in H3VR's take and hold. It has increased my immersion by a lot. Distances actually matter, you are limited by how fast you are in real life, it is easier to sense the size of objects by walking around them, prone and crouching are easier, and you get a better feeling for your playspace size and what you can get away with.

I would really recommend redirected walking, but here are the main factors holding it back. You need a big playspace. Something like 2m x 2m as a minimum or you will turn more often and get sick. Wireless is really recommended for this. Wired is possible but tricky. I don't know how many people cannot use this locomotion method because it will make them sick really fast. For me, I got over the sick feeling as fast as I did when I got sick when I started VR. Others wont be as fortunate.

The main reason for this post is to ask how many of you will be willing to learn how to do redirected walking? Do you have the space? Do you have wireless or willing to use a cable?(There is a way to not kill your cable) I have a Vrchat world in the pipeline that forces you to use this locomotion. Its a 4km trail that you walk. I want to know how many are interested so I might do an event.

+1 for Camera test world. There's a kaleidoscope and rotational mirror which can be helpful but the best bit is the "avatar pedestal". It clones your avatar and makes it smaller, putting it on a little grabbable pedestal you can move around. The clone copies your actions, so you can look all around your avatar to look for scuff easily.

It isn't. Weights are only relative to all the groups they're painted to. 0 on head, 0.5 on ears actually means 0 on head, 1 on ears.
